Count Binface has a genuine chance against Nigel Farage!

Sounds crazy but…

None of the major parties are competing…

Farage won Clacton with 46% of the vote…

If the 54% united together to vote for Binface, we could have the most preposterous election outcome of all time!

I reckon this could get some genuine momentum… all the other parties would LOVE this result, and even if they didn’t actively campaign for it, would surely quietly be gunning for Binface to win.

Yeah, he’s the worst sort of Binface donor: a mega-rich hippy.

Not a foreign crapto millionaire or convicted criminal and his mum

Chicken and egg though, isn't it? Do some people vote Reform because they live in a very economically deprived place, or do they deliberately move there because they are Reform (et al) voters? I believe the former.

I can see when some glib Reform type (or Trump, in the US) says to people who feel unrecognised and marginalised that is some unspecified way (usually to do with 'immigrants') they will save them, it is easy to believe that. Hillary Clinton and her 'basket of deplorables' damaged her and it should have, because while some Trump supporters are indeed deplorable they were not usually the ordinary people who felt left behind on the shore of the American Dream looking for a way out. Bernie Sanders understood that, but he was basically unelectable as considered very Left wing by US standards.

Interesting questions. They probably choose to live in a shit holes before Reform got popular. Maybe the correlating factor is people who make poor life choices.

Or maybe they grew up there and are settled there and don't have the capital to move away, even if they wanted to.

"Shitholes' can have appeal like being your home, and where your friends and family live.

I’m not comparing, or contrasting, where Farage and Vince got their money from. I doubt we’d disagree about the rights and wrongs of that.

I’m just saying that Binface’s appeal to anti-Farage voters and ‘up for the lols’ voters, goes down if he’s got a rich backer, and, in Clacton, especially if Mr Moneybags is a stupendously wealthy hippy.

Darker · 09/07/2026 18:23

I don’t know what he rules are but I think Binface could do a lot worse than use the campaign donations on free bin liners and 99 ice creams for all of Clacton.

As long as everything is declared there should be no problem.

Surely if your friends are mainly reform supporting racists you'd move away?

I’m not saying there’s anything illegitimate about Vince or anyone else funding Binface!

I’m saying it would kill Binface’s appeal.

Wasn't the whole excitement about Binface that the votes for "not-Farage" were more than the votes for Farage?

I agree.

At the moment Binface has wide spread cross party support.

I think there is a danger that (for want of a better description) the 'Led by Donkeys' crowd are very bad at hearing how they sound to others.

Roots matter. And if your entire social support network is in one place, leaving is difficult.

And of course moving house costs money, which is something the privileged often fail to understand. The poverty trap is a thing.

I disagree. I doubt very much it would kill the appeal to the large number of people who are enjoying this charade immensely and wish they could vote for him. The appeal of getting rid of Farage would definitely outweigh it.

I agree. The public funding with a £3 cap is one of the things that makes Binface not the establishment.

Sensible people tend not to choose to live in shit holes like Clacton. There's a reason it is a Reform safe(ish) seat.

If one is on a low income, where should one choose to live 'sensibly'?

Genuinely surprised that you can't see it. Look at the pineapple on head cartoon again, that nails it.

Especially when any surplus goes to the homelessness charity Shelter.

It’s not about the people who wish they could vote for him. It’s about how it comes across to the people who actually can - and having links as close as that to one party would diminish his appeal.

By definition, the people who 'wish they could vote for him' are not the people actually able to vote for him.

Uricon2 · 09/07/2026 18:36

Toohotforwork · 09/07/2026 18:30

Same thing.

So you're saying people are poor because of poor life choices?

Maybe if they'd been to Dulwich College they'd have had the same opportunities for advancement and wealth as NF.

ETA I've done a lot of family history. The 10 year old coal miners among my ancestors were poor because they were born poor, with limited access to education and few choices. Things have improved of course, but places get left behind. Clacton and Jaywick included.
