Yes, KC is clearly affectionate and is a hands on Grandad, and - according to Camilla - a good step Grandad too. When Harry claimed that Charles never hugged him, it took about 2 minutes on the internet for people to find pictures of KC hugging, kissing and putting his arms around Harry.
I suspect that he was a very affectionate father, if not always present. However, neither was Diana.

Of course Charles would be expected to walk - we all do at a family funeral. They knew / feared Charles would be attacked verbally by the public.

So did Diana’s brother , who also btw did not want the boys to walk. Neither boy wanted to walk.
Diana’s brother has since said the palace told him they did want to walk.

The part Philip played was to convince the reluctant boys to do the walk.

Yes, I think so too. I know KC got heavily criticised for meeting him, what with his and Meghan's behaviour, but I think it demonstrated a kindness and a willingness to move on, on the part of KC. I hope that it's been received in a good spirit and may be at least the start of a rapprochement.

They rolled their eyes at the blatant manipulation by the press, then pressure from Blair's government, to force the family to put the boys on display in London when the Queen wanted to keep them in seclusion at Balmoral. The Diana-sanctification and worship was embarrassing and undignified - a lot of people thought that.

Anyone with an ounce of perception could see what was going on and the RF had to make the best of it.
