Praise for Queen Camilla's common sense

So are the rabid TRAs going to try to cancel Queen Camilla for daring to meet with and praise J K Rowling? I'd like to see them try! Probably the only useful thing any member of the Royal Family has ever done, encouraging free speech in publishing. I might even become a Royalist after all.

Please give examples of her appalling behaviour

I'll wait

As people keep asking for it here's a summary of her behaviour which some find problematic.

I have no horse in the race.

For anyone who can't read the article, this is the 'evidence':

Liking a tweet that referred to trans women as "men in dresses."

Following Magdalen Berns, a lesbian who said lesbians don't have a penis.

Saying this re Maya Forstater being sacked: "Dress however you please, Live your best life in peace and security. But force women out of their jobs for stating that sex is real?"

Liking this tweet about self proclamed lesbian (and actual bloke with beard) Alex Drummond: "an adult human male who claims to be a lesbian (yes, he's kept his dangling bits and skipped the hormones)."

I mean I could go on but I'm sure you get the gist. The 'evidence' of 'transphobia' is just evidence of pointing out that the emperor isn't wearing any clothes

The wife of the King, Camilla doesn't give a rat's arse what anyone thinks of her, she has her man, she is Queen, and at the end of a stint of engagements every six months or so (😊), goes home to Ray Mill House, kicks off her shoes, lights a fag, pours a large G+T and says Fk them all, I won!

I loved the expression on Camilla's face at the coronation. The way she looked at them all after she was crowned. It was a proper 'fuck you, look where I am now' expression.

I'd rather have Camilla's family center stage than the Middleton hangers on.
@5128gap I think Diana knew when to not voice an opinion, or let things go, she couldn't have dated Muslim men and be such good friends with the gay community, if she constantly wanted to get her point across.

Diana was heading for real trouble by getting into bed with the Fayed's. No-one can predict how it would have gone.

OMG reminds me why I came off MN - how can you know any of this

She’s not my queen and was only ever meant to be queen consort but Charles was crafty about that! Anyone who behaved as she did and towards our princess Diana should frankly know her place! Awful woman

How to make an absolute tit of yourself😂

Superb!!

I think this will highlight how disliked JK Rowling is now and how utterly let down young trans readers feel by her. I doubt the royal family will
make the same mistake again. If Camilla wants to be seen as advancing reading in youngsters that should include all kids. To be giving airtime to somebody that has been so hateful to a section of society either highlights a nasty side to the royal family or a big PR mistake.

Are you able to articulate what exactly JKR has said which you think is hateful towards trans people?

Other than stating biological fact, or do you find facts hateful?

Abitlosttoday · 03/07/2026 14:54

HotBothered · 03/07/2026 01:33

I can’t see her as anything other than side piece
let alone queen

This is such a nasty attitude. It was decades ago and, presumably, you weren't personally involved. I am not a royalist, but this just sounds like misogyny to me.

I thought it would be along those lines.

I’m probably whistling in the wind here, but can you please explain exactly what JKR has done that was both “hateful” and “damaging to trans people”?
I won’t hold my breath, but maybe I’ll be surprised (for once).

I have seen them. It's bananas.

When you say “I have no horse in the race”, you’re not actually impartial, are you? You do support males being considered as women if they say so in many cases?

Queen Camilla 😂 she’s not a patch on the late Queen Elizabeth II. When you think what the late Queen did over her lifetime compared to the wooden, stiff Camilla. It’s a bloody cheek that Camilla is now referred to as Her Majesty the Queen.
Camilla Queen Consort is more fitting as she is the wife of the reigning monarch, King Charles II. Nothing more, nothing less.

Remind me when did Camilla bale out her wrong 'un son with millions?! 💰

nomas · 03/07/2026 19:37

Not a fan of Camilla/Charles affair but I support her meeting JKR.

It's a fucked up system that tells you she's our Queen when she's not accepted as such by the majority.

Thanks @TheodoreisntBeth .

@Locutus2000 did you deliberately link an article behind a paywall thinking people would just believe without reading it? Pretty underhand.

It's not about acceptance, though is it?

She married the King. That makes her the Queen. Acceptance doesn't come into it.

I have no strong feelings either way about Camilla, just making the point about the monarchical system.

Your acceptance is not actually required.

Do you accept Charles as King? Does it make a blind bit of difference? It’s kind of fascinating that you imagine what you or anyone else feels about it actually matters.

'It's a fucked up system that tells you she's our Queen' is an opinion, not a public service announcement.

Or are only opinions you agree with allowed?

Do better.

Kalanthe · 03/07/2026 20:28

I'd happily see her cancelled for wearing a Lady Dior bag to a recent royal wedding. The audacity
