Praise for Queen Camilla's common sense

So are the rabid TRAs going to try to cancel Queen Camilla for daring to meet with and praise J K Rowling? I'd like to see them try! Probably the only useful thing any member of the Royal Family has ever done, encouraging free speech in publishing. I might even become a Royalist after all.

OP posts:

She survived tampon gate, I think she’ll cope fine with this!

The grudge people can bear for periods of decades over someone they've never met and about whom they don't know the facts is one of the great revelations to me from MN.

lol, have you seen any of the Meghan & Harry threads on the Royal board? 😆😆. All this people are complete strangers!

Again as @NoFineBalance asks, as have many pp, can anyone who calls JKR hateful/transphobic please give an example? How long have people been asking for some evidence?!

JKR has even offered a million pounds to anyone who can point to where she has been transphobic. Two years later it is still unclaimed. Perhaps sj37dj will be that person! Exciting times!

MinnieCauldwell · 03/07/2026 08:57

I constantly see references to JKR and transphobia, but can never get to the bottom of what she has supposed to have done? All I see is a very successful woman sharing her well earned fortune on others.
Those that criticise her never come back with the proof.

Slugfest · 03/07/2026 08:59

@Sj37dj

You are a bit late to the party with the targeting a vulnerable minority schtick. I would hazard a guess and say the majority of people share JKR's views.

PurpleAxe · 03/07/2026 09:03

Sj37dj · 03/07/2026 07:17

Every child does not love her, the tide has turned massively. Youngsters are far more inclusive and think her behaviour is appalling. I’ve seen it online, with my own kids and in a work capacity.

Her behaviour to a vulnerable section of society has been frankly appalling.

Oh the tide has turned alright.

Once the general public got a whiff of the bullshit that is Trans/gender ideology and the fact that was anywhere near kids it was all over.

And you must be in a special little bubble, the kids I know think trans and all its associated nonsense is cringe. It is a millenial/Gen Z thing, which now makes it something "oldies" do. 😁

BiteSizedLife · 03/07/2026 06:42

🤷🏼‍♀️ She's Queen Camilla to me, I've no problem with her.

He should have been allowed to marry her in the first place.

Exactly. I'm not interested in the Royal family at all but im amazed when some people (eg previous posters) bring it up as an issue/calling her a side piece fgs 😂

It's definitely past time to get over judging someone else's private life.

Which vulnerable section of society are you talking about? Surely not those vulnerable but brave trans people and their deluded allies who hide behind masks and threaten to rape women with nail studded baseball bats and their lady dicks! Dont the “inclusive youngsters” understand how threats like that show exactly what trans identifying men think of the women they claim they want to be?

BTW if you have tracked down the holy grail of JKR trashing trans identified people, ( and I mean the real thing, not some made up trash you have read online) do please post a link because I for one would be interested in seeing it. I am also interested in seeing real live unicorns if anyone has one living on their back lawn.

Can you please say @Sj37dj what the “hateful” behaviour is?

It’ll be supporting women’s rights and children’s safeguarding. It always is.

Same with Camilla but she gets in the neck even more because she’s an older female, and she is on the shitty end of the increasingly unhinged Sussex PR WhatsApp-driven campaign against her because it’s pro-Diana and the Diana reincarnation.

DaisyDooley · 03/07/2026 09:10

Sj37dj · 03/07/2026 06:56

I think this will highlight how disliked JK Rowling is now and how utterly let down young trans readers feel by her. I doubt the royal family will
make the same mistake again. If Camilla wants to be seen as advancing reading in youngsters that should include all kids. To be giving airtime to somebody that has been so hateful to a section of society either highlights a nasty side to the royal family or a big PR mistake.

Or maybe Queen Camilla, like Jo Rowling and the vast majority of women know there’s no such thing as trans kids,
Im pretty sure JKR isn’t crying over a small but vocal minority disliking her.
How does The Queen meeting Jo Rowling stop any kids reading any books? If kids -or more likely their parents -choose to exclude Harry Potter book then that’s on them.
Reading for kids should include all books surely???
Standing up for women and girls is important. It’s not nasty or a big pr mistake.

Queen Camilla 😂 she’s not a patch on the late Queen Elizabeth II. When you think what the late Queen did over her lifetime compared to the wooden, stiff Camilla. It’s a bloody cheek that Camilla is now referred to as Her Majesty the Queen.
Camilla Queen Consort is more fitting as she is the wife of the reigning monarch, King Charles II. Nothing more, nothing less.

Totally different roles.Camilla because Queen consort in old age, Elizabeth 2nd was a reigning sovereign from a young age.So no comparison. Probably a typo, but if Camilla was married to Charles 2nd she would have been a widow for over 300 years by now.

Stella1366 · 03/07/2026 09:16

Itsjustmethatsall · 03/07/2026 05:39

Nor can I

I don't think of her as the Queen as QE2 held that position for my entire life. As much as she's the royal consort she appears to be very much her own person, quite unique.

MeetMeOnTheCorner · 03/07/2026 09:17

Camilla has a big project going about getting kids and people reading. Meeting JKR is about that. Fair enough - and I’m warming to Camilla. She’s agreed to interviews QE2 never would have done. I saw her interviewed about the Ebony Horse Club at Ascot recently. She can have a natural chat and even have a laugh. She likes people and it comes across when she speaks. I’m sure JKR found her good company.

darksideofthetoon · 03/07/2026 09:19

Katflapkit · 03/07/2026 04:43

I think Camilla is Bullet proof and doesn't care a jot. At 78 not many are seeking public opinion.

Of course she doesn’t care and is bullet proof. The woman lives a life of absolute luxury abd privilege most could only dream about.

WomenAreNotEmotionalSupportAnimals · 03/07/2026 09:20

Having a wee laugh to myself at the thought of primary school aged children sitting around having a very serious discussion critical of JKR like a PP said.

I can see arguing about stuff like which Hogwarts house is best, who their favourite character is, which is the best animal to take with you owl/toad/rat/frog etc.

I somehow can't picture these wee imaginary 8 year olds giving it "Well I quite like her as an author, but I can't quite get on board with her political stance vis a vis women's rights"

Aye? I don't think so 😂

Desperatelyseekinglazysusan · 03/07/2026 09:21

IFancyABaconSarnie · 03/07/2026 07:48

You’re the silly billy. 😘
The late Queen compared to Camilla. Hahaha. No comparison!

They are Queen Regnant and Queen Consort. But both are Queen. The sainted Kate will be the same rank as Camilla. Queen Consort. Will people mosn that she's called Queen and not Queen Consort? If we were going to get picky about Kings with mistresses then we wouldn't have any Kings at all. If you are a Royalist you suck it up that the Kings wife is Queen. The King is not your choice and you accept that so you have to accept that the Queen is whoever you get, like it or not.

TooLongDidntRead · 03/07/2026 09:23

NoFineBalance · 03/07/2026 08:26

Can you articulate her “anti trans sentiment”?

There isn’t any. They make it up because Reddit says ‘jump’. Sad, really.

And to throw those other accusations in there … absolutely bizarre.

She says 'no' to men who want to dismantle women's rights to their own spaces and services

So obviously she's a heinous witch 🫠🫠🫠

As for Camilla, an initiative around children's reading seems a good thing to put her energies into.

Bathtoomtile · 03/07/2026 09:26

99% of the general population would have seen that photo and just thought “the Queen is promoting reading with JK Rowling, the successful author”. If they thought of the trans issue at all, it would be a vague awareness that JK Rowling is fairly sensible on it.

This stuff is just not on the radar much for the majority of the country, and the idea that a bunch of oddbods online are going to cancel either Rowling or the Queen is laughable.

Interesting choice of words that, “bullet proof”. Because of course, every time she goes out she understands that it only takes one fucker armed with a gun to prove that she is not in fact bullet proof at all.

Ask Princess Anne and King Charles, and if you could the late QE, how it feels to have someone get very close to you with some sort of a firearm, or even to innocently pop into your bedroom for a little chat one night.

Sod the life of luxury, I would rather not have a target on my beautifully dressed back.

The late Queen was a monarch. Camilla is a consort. They are really not comparable positions. And calling her stiff and wooden compared to the late Queen is hilarious.

Ooh if only Diana were here!

I think it’s hilarious people call the QUEEN a side piece. Jesus Christ grow up.

If Diana was here I reckon she'd be more a supporter of TWAW than of JKR. She was always very..Elton John...wasn't she?
