To think Andy Burnham’s hairstyle is too middle of the road, he’s slightly too short, and should resign immediately after being appointed

His hairstyle is neither classic or on trend. It’s just very ordinary.

I don’t know how tall he is but I sense he’s a few inches shorter than I’d want for a prime minister.

Given the above, I think it’s everyone’s interests that immediately after being asked to form a government by the King, he gets back in his car, does a three point turn on the Mall, goes back and resigns immediately.

Absolutely. I don't want to be governed by someone wearing those shoes either.

RunLyraRun · 22/06/2026 16:07

Just wait until you see his taste in rain jackets (Peter Storm!)

MrsTomRipley · 22/06/2026 16:09

He supports Everton - that alone makes him unfit to be PM

Flatinbed · 22/06/2026 16:10

There is already one thread (more?) about a policy he may introduce. Tax of course, affecting the South East more.

AmberSpy · 22/06/2026 16:12

I heard a rumour that he doesn't always sort his dry recycling from his rubbish! Down with Burnham I say!

He wears T-shirts and strange athletic wear tops ...with an insufferable smug expression.
That's enough for me....

You need to get hold of the Communist Manifesto and it will explain all of Andy’s policies to you.

DP keeps remarking that he needs new running kit. It seems a bit snug in those photos.

It's quite refreshing to find a man critisised for his appearance for once.

PrincessOfPreschool · 22/06/2026 16:14

I can't comment because I don't know what his wife looks like. That's key info.

PrincessOfPreschool · 22/06/2026 16:15

Sorry x post Kingfisher!

SoSoLong · 22/06/2026 16:15

I'm withholding judgement until I find out if he's a dog person or a cat person.

ReplacementBusDriver · 22/06/2026 16:15

All prime ministers must be called upon to resign for not completing the job if they have not fulfilled all election promises within one week. Doubly so if they are shorter than Dwayne the Rock Johnson and/or wear glasses. So I fully agree and would go further - ban him from all public office unless he gets a nicer jacket by next Wednesday.

Depends on who paid for the glasses....

PrincessOfPreschool · 22/06/2026 16:19

The wife is uber cool. She's called Frankie for a start and has (had?) bleached hair and a great dress sense. I will accept him as PM purely on her style.

anyolddinosaur · 22/06/2026 16:19

@SoSoLong He has a dog. Of course that doesnt mean he cant also be a cat person but I want to know if his dog will cope with Larry. Larry is no longer young.

Thewalrusandthecarpenter · 22/06/2026 16:19

He likes The Smiths and The Stone Roses though …. so he’s not all bad.

Queenage · 22/06/2026 16:22

He went to see James last night and he had his arm round his wife’s shoulders like he was 15. Oh sit down, Andy.

Hmm, I'm not liking the idea of poor Larry being terrorised by a dog. Better if Burnham resigns immediately.

Kingdomofsleep · 22/06/2026 16:29

I dunno, if it's a looks competition then he probably beats most recent (male) PMs.

TimeFlysWhenYoureHavingRum · 22/06/2026 16:29

I'm prepared to give him a chance OP.

IF he can restore all public services to pre -austerity levels with a 3 week period (without spending any more money);
Raise defense spending to at least 12% of GDP without increasing taxes;
And boost economic growth while cutting immigration and not getting any closer to Europe then MAYBE I'll just spend the next 2 years moanig about how Labour are "bankrupting the country" and "destroying our traditional values" before voting Tory at the next GE.

I think thats a reasonable attitude.

Ed. for spelling

Omg yes!!! If they were a freebie he should definitely resign before he even starts. Labour politicians must not accept freebies. Other parties can.

Although I'd accept it if he formed a coalition government with Binface and Binface supplied the glasses for free from his abdomen/bin. That's the only circumstances this would be ok.

There was a picture on the front of the paper this morning of him wearing sandals. No. Just no.

And I reckon there was a point that morning where he entertained wearing socks with them. He needs to be ousted right now.

TemperanceWest · 22/06/2026 16:35

He is not Nigel Farage, whom we all know should be PM. So agree. #Burnhamout
