To think Andy Burnham’s hairstyle is too middle of the road, he’s slightly too short, and should resign immediately after being appointed

His hairstyle is neither classic or on trend. It’s just very ordinary.

I don’t know how tall he is but I sense he’s a few inches shorter than I’d want for a prime minister.

Given the above, I think it’s everyone’s interests that immediately after being asked to form a government by the King, he gets back in his car, does a three point turn on the Mall, goes back and resigns immediately.

You were considering running for PM?

No but you said the people of NW should consider why so few of us have made PM. So it must be some sort of group failure. I'm just not sure if it's a cultural problem or genetic. Maybe we need to face reality and accept the people of the South East are just successful because of their innate superiority.

Don’t worry, if the alien eyebrown slugs spread further through the north west population (a quick trip to many places in the north west suggests this is already underway!) then I’m sure they’ll outwit the evil southerers, given that they are a species capable of interstellar travel.

Quite a few famous Mancunians were heavy of eyebrow (the Gallagher's and watshisnamenfrom the Stone Roses). So maybe it's already spread? Hmmm, if to eat chips and baby's head and ponder this. 🤔

Not surprising at all that they’re eating babies’ heads. I presume this is their plan to cull the human population and save the planet from climate change.

The North will be spared.

It's the south east, basket of The UK that'll be the feast of all feasts. Fear ye not. It'll be quick and you'll get your inheritance tax.

Andre Bonar Law who took over from DLG was born in Canada I think @RedToothBrush. He was born to parents from Ulster which is the only reason he sticks in my mind.

Oh, I’m not sure. How will the eyebrow aliens continue to fund the north west if they don’t have the humans in the south east and London to pay for the humans/ slug hosts in the north west and elsewhere? They’d have to get jobs and actually pay for themselves. I don’t think the slugs would kill the golden goose that’s keeping their host alive, if they are sensible slugs. They’ll want to enslave the remaining south east people producing the money by ramping up their tax to even higher levels to keep the slugs in the circumstances that they desire. Why else bother coming all this way from Alpha Centuri? No eyebrow slug is going to want to attach itself to a human host that actually has to work all day, how boring!

Perhaps an eyebrow tax is in order to restore things to at least some semblance of pretending to look vaguely human. And perhaps trouser tax should be reduced so that people can afford ones that cover their ankles.

Indeed! Gravy on chips and people who mash up peas. Vile. Don’t even start talking about barms and barm “cakes” and then there’s the whole orange cheese thing.

I suppose given that Burnham is emulating Trump’s skin tone he may be amenable to building walls, so could build one to segregate the northern slug empire from the south and London rather than invade the entire Kingdom. I don’t hold out much hope though, if it’s Charlie and Wills that are expected to lead the battle.

Utter rubbish. I credited you, having seen you on here for many, many years, with more sensible views than this one. This is not the basis upon which elections/ party leadership is decided in any of our dysfunctional political parties. But let’s not ruin a fun thread discussing this now.

What your post shows is that where a PM happens to be the MP has little to do with where they grew up or where their family has roots.

Many of us don’t subscribe to this sort of small-minded identity based on locality and have family in multiple areas of the country, have lived in different parts of the country at different times, have parents who grew up elsewhere, etc. Not everyone spends their entire life within a few miles of where they were born and considers this to be some kind of part of their personality and a great many people find doing so odd and divisive and counterproductive, just feeding more fuel to the populist loons.

You neglected to mention the East of England at all, which is home to 9.5% of the population. West midlands (another 9%)? East Midlands (7%)? South West you mentioned but that’s 8.5% of population.

Wales is 4% and NI is less than 3% so it’s not overly surprising that they haven’t happened to produce a PM, given those statistics.

Many MPs stand in areas where they do not live or were not born. Most, in fact. Our politicial system is certainly dysfunctional in many ways, but this particular complaint is quite silly to be honest, some implication that we should all be delighted to have a PM who will implement (yet again) policies he decides on a whim with no mandate to do so and that somehow this is ok this time because he was born in a certain part of the country? It makes no sense at all.

The north west of the country is just 11% population. Some there seem to have a victim mentality but they’re no more hard done by than others, in fact the area is hugely subsidised by the SE and London and should be grateful for this. I’m sure that’s why the eyebrow slugs thought this was the ideal place to land and start colonising hosts because they would have the best chance there of a life of leisure without having to pay their share.

If you want more representation Labour isn’t the place for it. They’re stretching to the North but that’ll be it.

No idea. Presumably that is a separate region that was invaded by another space creature which reduces IQ and therefore should not be included within the stats for the others to distort them.

There is nothing vile about pea wet. I bet Andy 'the eyebrows' Burnham has it on his chips when he goes into Chippy Bar on a Friday for chippy tea night.

You are suggesting that someone being considered for PM takes afternoon tea at night?

The sandals and fake tan displayed his lack of decorum for all to see but this is a step too far.

I am convinced The Tower awaits him.

Yes, he seems to be emulating Trump’s orange pigment, so I suppose technically it’s darker than his natural skin even if it also has a tinge of neon.

I was referring to his hair. His hair is dark but he’s not tall or handsome.
