To think Andy Burnham’s hairstyle is too middle of the road, he’s slightly too short, and should resign immediately after being appointed

His hairstyle is neither classic or on trend. It’s just very ordinary.

I don’t know how tall he is but I sense he’s a few inches shorter than I’d want for a prime minister.

Given the above, I think it’s everyone’s interests that immediately after being asked to form a government by the King, he gets back in his car, does a three point turn on the Mall, goes back and resigns immediately.

@Piggywaspushed good point about the beard. Hate them!!

ladygindiva · 23/06/2026 20:49

He looks like he dyes his hair and wears mascara

You need to get hold of the Communist Manifesto and it will explain all of Andy’s policies to you.

Oh dear. It’s a Reform or Restore thread.

He turns a nice ankle as my gran used to say. I'll start there and withhold judgement. At least he doesn't have a beard.

I suppose it’s easy to get a good look at his anoles because his trousers are two sizes too small. Silver linings… or were they from Temu?

I heard a rumour that he doesn't always sort his dry recycling from his rubbish! Down with Burnham I say!

Needs must when in Wigan. God damn the 3 weekly bin collections. There's a thought, maybe his first task as Makerfield MP could be to bring back weekly bin collections. Thats a definite vote winner.

Oh, does he wear trousers like Rishi's.

FairViewRosie25 · 23/06/2026 21:09

Hugh Grant needs to stand. Problem sorted.

Yes to this^
I don’t believe he does but it certainly looks this way.

As to Larry … i wonder if he is the root of the problem (as much as I love cats) - since he has moved in all our PMs are really struggling.

I would add the hair dying and possible tinted mousturisor. He just can't pull it off . Looks like he's been filtered.

Absolutely. Someone needs to steer him away from the Grecian 2000! He looks like he’s wearing someone else’s hair and eyebrows. As a result I know nothing about his policies.

There was a picture on the front of the paper this morning of him wearing sandals. No. Just no.

There's a whole thread about his jesus sandals.

Davros · 23/06/2026 22:22

Or Jesus’s Andy sandals

Wadsworthy · 23/06/2026 22:30

And his glasses are terrible.

Yes, I think these are perfectly valid reasons for him to immediately resign as soon as he becomes PM. In fact I think he should probably resign right now and not bother becoming Prime Minister. It would save us all the endless angst and media scrummage, we could then move on to the next candidate. Because that’s just what we need, an endless succession of Prime Ministers. We’ve only had 7 in 10 years after all.!

attishoo · 23/06/2026 22:43

I just don’t like the look of him -he should resign immediately.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 23/06/2026 22:46

I think he's a rubbish choice because he doesn't have a beard @Piggywaspushed.
Johnson, Truss, May, Sunak - not a beard amongst them and they were all shite...

Nat6999 · 23/06/2026 22:47

I love him, have done since his New Labour days. What he did for the Hillsborough families getting them a full enquiry & the reopening of the inquests so they got the truth of what happened & who was really responsible. The way he has turned Manchester around since he became Mayor if he can bring that to the whole country everyone would benefit. Plus he is Northern, not some overpaid public schoolboy.

You may have a point. If Luz Truss had a beard would she have been a better PM? Jimmy Hill Jimmy Hill chinny reckon (strokes beard)

Felixfox · 23/06/2026 22:57

Yes and the fact that outside of Manchester, nobody really know who he is!🙄

Not in the spirit of the thread.
I would argue that actually his positive actions as Manchester Mayor were clearly cynical maneuverings to make himself popular. Doing a good job and doing it in an obvious way is a form of virtue signalling and is a sign of just how slimy he is. Typical career politician!

Settlersa · 23/06/2026 21:09

This may explain his determination to occupy #10: Rishi must have left some clothes behind and Andy has his eye on them. He must have concluded that wearing well-tailored suits 4 sizes too small would be an upgrade on his own Primark versions which are only 2 sizes too small.

Andycore: How to dress like Andy Burnham

The sandals were Birkenheadsstocks and he has presentable feet for a marathon runner and I say that as someone who thinks most feet are best hidden.

Edited

He looks more like an angry version of Postman Pat in this photo. And his eyes are too close together.

WhatcakeshalIbaketoday · 23/06/2026 20:22

Tall, dark and handsome. Well he’s dark anyway! 😂

Yes, he seems to be emulating Trump’s orange pigment, so I suppose technically it’s darker than his natural skin even if it also has a tinge of neon.
