To think Andy Burnham’s hairstyle is too middle of the road, he’s slightly too short, and should resign immediately after being appointed

His hairstyle is neither classic or on trend. It’s just very ordinary.

I don’t know how tall he is but I sense he’s a few inches shorter than I’d want for a prime minister.

Given the above, I think it’s everyone’s interests that immediately after being asked to form a government by the King, he gets back in his car, does a three point turn on the Mall, goes back and resigns immediately.

I'm prepared to give him a chance OP.

IF he can restore all public services to pre -austerity levels with a 3 week period (without spending any more money);
Raise defense spending to at least 12% of GDP without increasing taxes;
And boost economic growth while cutting immigration and not getting any closer to Europe then MAYBE I'll just spend the next 2 years moanig about how Labour are "bankrupting the country" and "destroying our traditional values" before voting Tory at the next GE.

I think thats a reasonable attitude.

Absolutely!

I'm loving this thread. It's just a shame that it's how a lot of people actually seem to think (as soon as they're told to by the media)

Letsgoforaskip · 23/06/2026 19:47

Also loving this thread 🥰
At least he’s different from all the other career politicians… oh wait 😯

Anothernameretired · 23/06/2026 19:48

What about hot podium guy, though?
We won't get to see him again unless AB resigns fairly sharpish.
I was against all this revolving doors of prime ministers but it keeps hot podium guy in work.

Canoodler · 23/06/2026 19:48

Andy is a naff name.

Daft! 😂

I do agree though! 😆

I dislike his ears.

Why? What’s wrong with ears that can also be used as a bridge to the Moon?

Think of the saving on infrastructure investment.

YourGiddyGreyHelper · 23/06/2026 20:07

Everybody hates him. He's the most hated prime minister ever. I'm no fan of reform but wouldn't you rather be patronised by Nigel in the lounge bar any day of the week (oh and I voted remain).

The sandals were Birkenheadsstocks and he has presentable feet for a marathon runner and I say that as someone who thinks most feet are best hidden.

I was heartened today to see on a packet of cigarettes a photo which appears to be Mr Farage in a coma: there is yet hope for the nation.

Surely this is a mistake and the headline should read “How NOT to dress like Andy Burnham” unless it is now the fashion to wear clothes which are two sizes too small?

@SoSoLong He has a dog. Of course that doesnt mean he cant also be a cat person but I want to know if his dog will cope with Larry. Larry is no longer young.

I wouldn’t worry about Larry. He is on his 6th prime minister already and it won’t be his first dog

But he's like Lord of the North, or God of the North isn't he? The Second Coming? I expect divine right will win out.

Perhaps he should go back where he came from then.

I mean, he was telling the great people of Make-a-field or whatever it’s called that they are absolutely right to not want people “not from round ‘ere” invading their towns and cities (Having said the opposite for 20+ years, but that was the other “Andy”, or something, before his epiphany that happened, fortuitously - for Andy - to coincide with this by-election).

Presumably the inhabitants of Westminster will feel similarly about this oik showing up uninvited.

Larry’s hardcore. With luck he’ll dispatch the “king” back north with his wolf between his legs.

Larry has form for beating up incumbents’ dogs.

Larry could defeat the 5 foot “king” and his dog with nothing more than a withering look.

Larry for PM!

Piggywaspushed · 23/06/2026 20:28

He turns a nice ankle as my gran used to say. I'll start there and withhold judgement. At least he doesn't have a beard.
