Thought I would create a thread for all the everyday irritations that are too petty to share but get your blood up. Whether your oestrogen and agreeableness has deserted you or you are just generally feeling a bit pissed off with things- I feel it’s always better to get it off your chest. And in that spirit-I will begin…

I have a lovely relationship with Vinted (I buy too much shit on here) but it really gets on my nerves when people:

  1. post photos of shoes with foot cheese evident all over the soles (ick).
  2. soneone posts something with a stain saying ‘it will come out in the wash’. So wash it you dirty gopper.

Also ‘DH’ stop leaving your dribbling toothbrush and bog blocking shites in the loo for me to tackle. Fucking beast.

That is all today.

Possibly…..

The sodding wind that is ruining what’s left of the garden.

After putting three loads of washing in our and drying and away whilst working FT compressed as kids club is somehow only 9-3 taking kids to kids club back again. Tea for everyone bath and shared bedtime…DH gets int bed and rather than putting the sheet that was clean and folded in the cupboard with rest of bedding laundry he threw it on the floor. Then looked at me like I was wild when I explained how fucked off I was at that….

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 28/08/2026 18:32

Plantar bastard fasciatus(sp) whatever, is a cunt.
Bloody dh who decided to keep me company on my 6 monthly hospital visit in Big City. I like a wander after. Pointless meandering. Going to shops he has no interest in and I never go to because of that. "But which shop, what do you want there? Why?" Yes I gave up. But he wanted a look out and to keep me company. 🫤
The Big Stink. Live in rural town. I think its slurry spreading season. The whole town stinks to high heaven. Can't put washing out, windows closed.

Wasted a day off waiting in for a shed from Tesco.

Twats.

The realisation that the HRT I've started taking in the hope that it will alleviate my symptoms is causing me horrible anxiety. This is just as a new menopause symptom has arrived: being unable to drink a cup of tea without it causing my head and face feel like they're on fire and then sweating profusely for about an hour afterwards.

FFS

Bloody ASMR and tappy fucking nails on everything.

I've been searching online for a new travel bag recently and now my feeds are flooded with ads where someone clicks, zips, and nail taps unrealistic amounts of stuff into various tote bags.

All those little noises make me positively murderous.

I was just thinking exactly this 5 minutes ago, when looking at a beautiful dress on Vinted, I would have bought it even at the price ( over 100 quid for a secondhand dress) until I saw the stain which they said wasn't a stain and that it would come out when washed. How do they know it will, and if it's true, why haven't they washed it themselves? Really grim.

Who is stealing my windscreen wipers????? Rear one was stolen a few weeks ago but I wasn't that bothered because it needed replacing. Now the perfectly serviceable front one has gone. Why? Who? 😡

I think you can make your point without using such foul language, OP. It really isn’t necessary and takes away from the post.

My goodness, I can't quite believe you think that's foul. It's incredibly therapeutic to use them occasionally, (including the correct version of the actual word.) Swearing isn't a problem on Mumsnet and I value a thread where we can release our annoyances honestly without covering up for delicate eyes and ears. It obviously isn't the thread for you, but please don't take away the facility for other people's healthy rants.

Aches- just wtf happened to my body in the past week?

Weather - one extreme to the other and my UK holiday next looks rainy and scrappy rather than warm and sunny. I booked it later so peak heat temps would have passed. You just can’t chuffin win.

I knew once it started raining that it wouldn't stop for six months. And I have a UK holiday in two weeks.

Nofeckingway · 29/08/2026 06:32

Went to do some tasks in my elderly relatived . Change lampshades, put up cabinet . Everything went wrong . Unable to do it , spent hours trying and worse can't put things back the way they were . So a nice effort has turned sour . I felt so bad and frustrated.

I haven’t taken anything away. If using foul language does it for you, carry on 🤷‍♀️

Yes! The title of this thread.

WellConfusedandDazed · 29/08/2026 07:00

I just started working FT again after years of working PT and I don’t think I can do it. I am utterly exhausted, anxious and stressed. I’m annoyed I can’t seem to handle it. What’s wrong with me.

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 29/08/2026 07:15

Having to get up early. I am retired. I didn't retire just to have to get up early.

Even though it is to do something fun, and I know I will be fine once I'm out there doing it, I still resent missing out on a couple of hours of sleep.

HelpMeGetThrough · 29/08/2026 07:37

I’ve got a massive cyst on my hip and have been on tablets all week, the wrong bloody ones. Went back yesterday and a different GP asked me “why did you have those prescribed? They won’t work!”. No shit mate, that’s why I’m here. Prescribed two different ones and I’m bloody worse today. Have hardly slept all night.

Bloody cyst feels like a football!! Not great when immunocompromised.

I’m well fecked off!!

Ah! Yes - yea olde info dump about stuff I couldn’t give a shiny shite about. This includes protracted conversations on anything contract/white goods and Which recommendations/ your electric car and tariffs (the fuck) and the sense in putting the white good on in the early hours re cheap tariff. Also never wanting to buy a carrier bag and preferring to juggle the shit to the car on point of principle…

Oh yes and switching off lights.

So weird.

We are not poor/up against it.

He doesn’t mind trading his car in every few months with the cost that involves!

do we have the same DH?! Oh my god the amount he tells me about the electricity tariff, when we should charge the car, when to use the oven and washing machine etc etc….how much electricity we’ve saved. And just general techy stuff. I just nod and make interested sounds whilst my eyes glaze over.

He’s also forever switching off lights (well, those remaining lights in the house that can actually be turned off with a light switch, that he hasn’t converted to Hue and to be controlled by the bloody Alexa but that’s a whole other thing…), saying “have you finished in there?” - well, no actually! - that’s why I left the bloomin’ light on!

I was worried I was going to get like this when I got an electric car. Looked into it and started to prattle on about it. I could see my OH glazing over.

It’s not worth changing to an EV tariff for us, as it would end up costing more. So I just plug in now and forget it. I know it’s going to cost about 18 quid a month.

Tariff geek was soon kicked out the door!

Sons first adult holiday away with friends, flight got cancelled (not enough crew?? Ok and you only knew this after it was meant to take off?) he's had to go to Gatwick 3 hours away, stay overnight and hope the new flight actually goes this afternoon.

My cat has been in the cattery while we had some work done last week at home and he hasn't stopped meow shouting since he came back.

My neighbours son has a new BMW and likes to rev it outside my house, I can feel it as well as hear it so I guess that's what's going to wake me up now even when it's cool enough to shut the windows.

I'm fat and can't get any weight off without eating under 1000 calories because I'm so short.

Etc etc.

Floppyearedlab · 29/08/2026 08:52

DH moaning like mad when we got caught in the rain on a dog walk that doggo was really enjoying and wanting to come home straight away rather than go for a coffee, yet happily getting up and going off to park run in the pouring rain this morning.

🤣

Have you SEEN the rest of the thread? I’m finding it fecking hard to think of a swear word which hasn’t been used TBH.

Can I add to the list of things which piss me off “sanctimonious preachy posters on Mumsnet who add nothing to the substance of the debate but nit-pick pointlessly at the poster or another person’s reply.”
