A lot of posters here need to see the conclusion of this story about the clearly terrified child, that so many people were quick to be awful about. You all owe this extremely vulnerable child you participated in the defamation of, a massive fucking apology. I'm genuinely so angry about how so many grown women denigrated a hurt and scared child. Her fear was so evident in her voice and demeanor and so many mothers here were quick to throw her under a bus. Well you've all been proven wrong now, with the man she was trying to defend herself from found guilty of assault.

Honestly, just think about what you people did, defending a man who assaulted a child just because she was of a class you deem beneath you. I hope you're very, very ashamed and take stock before more girls like her suffer worse.

Yes he was in the wrong for assaulting her but she was carrying offensive weapons for heavens sake!

GooseCreekandtheRiver · 11/06/2026 20:33

I’ve read the article in the link you posted. I still have no idea what you are on about. Who was defaming whom?

speakingofart · 11/06/2026 20:35

I mean honestly? They all sound equally as bad as each other, but I’m glad that he’s been found guilty as there’s no excuse for him as an adult. I assume she’s also been/ will be convicted of possessing illegal weapons and hopefully given some help to turn her life around. Not sure that newspaper story exonerates her in quite the way you hope it does…

likelysuspect · 11/06/2026 20:39

Ive never heard of the story

What the hell is a 12 year old carrying an axe and a knife for though, tucked in her waistband?

I dont think either of them come off particularly covered in glory. One is not worse than the other.

TheRealShatParp · 11/06/2026 20:43

You need to calm down.

extrabeans · 11/06/2026 20:43

Bloody hell, no one comes out of that well! How is a child that age carrying a knife and an axe?! 😮

IDoHaveACrystalBall · 11/06/2026 20:46

I apologise if I've got this wrong

I thought she was carrying those weapons because she had been harassed or even attacked by the same couple before

That she obtained them and carried them for self-defence

Have I got that wrong?

If I'm right then that article is really poor for not mentioning it. I thought she was forced into carrying something because she was so worried about her own safety.

MCF86 · 11/06/2026 20:52

I don't think I'd ever seen an axe in real life at that age.

I had not heard of this story previously. Reading the OP I assumed she'd hidden the weapons to protect herself from ongoing abuse, but the article suggests she just happened to be carrying them around in public. I don't think you can justify that.

Honeyhonay · 11/06/2026 20:57

Where the fuck does a 12 year old get an axe?

Because that attack wasn't the first time. It had been going on for a long time with the girls there. But sure, she should just let the poor man attack her.

Nah wtf she had the knife and the axe already on her?

She sounds rough as toast 😑

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 11/06/2026 21:04

I think I remember this! Wasn’t she trying to protect herself and her friend (little sister?), from someone who’d been sexually harassing them for quite a while? A predatory man who’d been harassing children?

extrabeans · 11/06/2026 20:43

Because she was regularly being threatened and assaulted as was her sister and their friends. If she hadn't had the weapons what do you think would have happened? As it was her assaulter was so used to getting away with what he'd been doing to the girls in the area, he filmed her, reported her to the police, and did a "poor me" Daily Mail story in the days before he was arrested.

Can people actually not engage their brains about the child carrying weapons. You think she was just carrying concealed weapons because she's the type "who doesn't come out of this looking good" when by complete coincidence a pair of adults assaulted her? Or do you think she had the weapons because she and the girls in her neighbourhood were constantly being assaulted.

Yes. Very much so, but half the posters here jumped to condemn her and treat her attacker as the victim. They're even doing now after he's been convicted.

Because she was regularly under threat of assault. Wtaf is wrong with you for talking about an extremely vulnerable twelve year old like that.

My child was still holding onto Santa Claus at twelve. It's still meant to be full childhood. A neglected kid of that age being regularly preyed upon violently for rejecting sexual advances of adults isn't rough. She's vulnerable and being let down by everyone around her.

Because I’ve got children, and the thought of one of them getting into a squabble with another kid who’s got an AXE and KNIFE in her waistband is horrific.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 11/06/2026 21:14

Poor girl.

Theworldsgonemadagain · 11/06/2026 21:17

Yes op it is fucking disgusting that young girls are resorting to carrying weapons to protect themselves due to predatory immigrant males. As a mother of a child of similar age it is very concerning.

chirrupybird · 11/06/2026 21:21

Who knows who did what to whom first, sexual comments from the man, racial insults from the girls, who all obviously backed each other up and a young girl armed to the teeth. A really bizarre story all round.

Where is all this history of him abusing children and why wasn't he charged for any of that? He just plead guilty to pushing her during a fracas.

He was found guilty in court.

To the posters still criticising this little girl. She is a child. He is a grown man.
He's also been convicted.
What on earth is wrong with you all?

Hold up.

You're saying a grown man would be justified in making sexual remarks or moves on a 12yo child because she said some 'hurty words' to him first??

Really??

People are allowed to call out the craziness of a child carrying an axe and a knife.

What do you make of a 12 year old girl with an axe and a knife down her waistband? She didn’t run off to get them, she carries them with her when she goes out.
That’s quite disturbing no?

She was 12, what are you missing here?

He's an attacker, she's a potential attacker with weapons

Given kids of 12 arent great with impulse control and rational behaviour she poses the greater risk.
