Getting rage about this effing weather

I am so angry.
Typing this with yet another torrential rain downpour as we speak. Left my back door open when it was dry clear sky weather and went upstairs to put laundry away, came back down to a black sky, monsoon downpour and a flooded kitchen floor from the rain being blown into my kitchen by howling wind. This is the 4th torrential downpour of the day. All 4 monsoon like.
So far in the SE we have had 10 days straight of torrential rain and battering winds, except for a light reprieve on Sunday but even that was bloody freezing cold. Over the past week I've watched the ferocious hurricane like winds blast all my different roses in full bloom off of their stems, it's snapped all my foxgloves in half, snapped branches off my Budleia, snapped all the stems off of my Salvias, tore my 2 hanging baskets off my wall and landed them across my garden, ruined. I've had my wheelie bins blown from my driveway down the street on their sides, crashing into neighbours' cars. One of our big heavy roof tiles got ripped off by gale force winds on Saturday and landed on our drive and smashed to smithereens, thank God none of us were standing on the drive at the time. I can't hang any washing out cos it won't stop raining.
I put all our coats away during the brief mini heatwave in half term and now we're all wearing them again.
I hate, hate, hate this weather. 10 days of it in June!!!!! Summer!!!!
Just looked at the forecast for tomorrow and it's rain all day again.
I can't cope, it's making me really miserable. Our summers are already short enough as it is, without this.
We didn't even have a warm May (except for the 1 week of half term). 😤

Cold right now.
Absolutely bloody freezing cold.
Tried to sit in garden after work with a cup of tea, around 7pm. Bloody freezing cold. Windy as fuck. Too cold to be comfortable.
Gave up, went back indoors, shut all the windows and put a fleece on.
Children wrapped themselves up in heavy winter blankets.
Mid June.
MID JUNE.

Thick PJs and fleeces on here. Some sun late PM but then cold again.

socks1107 · 16/06/2026 21:24

It’s been perfect here. Light winds and warm
sun. I’m seeing reports of 37 on Monday so be careful what you wish for!

Swiftie1878 · 16/06/2026 21:36

Yeah, we’re basking down here! Gorgeous, and the weekend looking even better.

I had the rage today when I had to switch on the heater on my steering wheel when I went out this morning. It's the middle of June FFS. I'm in central Scotland and sick on fighting the weather. I might have to leave my Scottish husband... Tomorrow is our 24th anniversary!

GaIadriel · 16/06/2026 23:46

It was 22° here and I was bloody hot driving a truck with broken air con.

Just a little update to let you know it's pouring with rain right now, after a morning of dark grey skies.
Last week, when the forecast said it would be warm and sunny all week this week, I invited some of DD's friends round for after school today to play in the garden.
We only have a tiny house so I tend to only invite school friends round in summer so they can be garden based. And DD has been deprived of this due to the weeks of shit weather we've had.
Even 3 days ago the forecast was still saying warm and sunny for today. So we were all set. Invites accepted. Food bought. Happy DD looking forward to it. Forecast said dry and sunny.
But no. It's raining hard instead. Has drenched all the garden furniture, and heavy non stop rain is set to continue all afternoon.

Hope it brightened up enough for your DD’s play date. It did here.

PoohneedsaPimms · 19/06/2026 11:12

Central Scotland, we seem to have had rain/high winds for weeks, except for three hot days in May. Plants getting blown to bits.

Can’t hang washing out or sit in the garden, miserable for going for walks?

Still been using the heating/hot water bottles most evenings. Now it’s almost summer solstice Confused

Totallyfrazzledmum · 19/06/2026 23:59

Warm here today hurrah , didn’t wear a coat.

JacknDiane · 20/06/2026 10:12

Sunny here in Glasgow...so far.
Really awful yesterday, rained all day but very warm, so muggy and sweaty all day.

Livpool · 20/06/2026 15:07

Nice today - at last!!!!

I'm so angry. I'm incandescent.
I've just been up to the loft and it's leaking now with the insane monsoon rain going on as we speak, leaking through the roof from where the gales ripped the tile off the roof on Saturday.
For fucks sake. It's fucking JUNE.
I'm in my winter thick chunky jumper, trousers and socks.
Oh yeah someone mentioned hail - I forgot about that, yes, 2 big hail storms last week! I couldn't believe my eyes!

Two thoughts- I have a peony bush in my garden. Flowers early ish June. Instantly destroyed every single year by wind and rain. A memory from a friend came up on FB on 13th June. She's at a tennis tournament, in the SE, wearing an anorak. 2016. Disappointing weather indeed but sadly normal.
Average June temp in Southampton for ex. is 21C so not madly exciting and 8 days with rain.

Comeonelieen · 20/06/2026 15:58

It’s been nothing but hot and muggy in London for the past few day. Wish it would rain tbh. Maybe we should swap places 😂

I am responsible for the nice weather as I went back to work on Monday after having the last horrible week off!
