'Afghan men 'fled UK in lorry after raping girl'

Mobile phone footage recovered from Safi's phone showed the men in the lorry laughing and gesticulating, which Hetherington said suggested they thought they "got away with it".

When they were found by French police in Calais on 3 December, they were returned to the UK.
Hetherington said the trio had no travel documents or identification and had given false names to French authorities.
After their real names were checked on police systems, they were arrested on suspicion of rape.
Sali, of St Werburghs, denies one count of human trafficking and two charges of rape.
Habibkheil, of Lockleaze, denies one count of human trafficking and one charge of rape.
Ahmadzai, of Redcliffe, denies one charge of rape and one charge of assault by penetration.
The 16-year-old also denied one charge of rape.
The trial continues.'

Afghan men accused of fleeing UK after raping girl in Bristol

A jury is told three defendants left the country in a "deeply unusual" way after the alleged rape.

We should stop accepting anyone from Islamic countries. They have no concept of our culture whatsoever

Viviennemary · Yesterday 21:02

Not one person entering the country illegally should be allowed to stay. End of.

What is it doing then? Because from what I can see, you are using a tragic and horrific assault on a vulnerable young woman to, once again, attack immigrants.
If I'm wrong, and that's not your aim, I'm willing to be corrected, but that seems to be what you're doing.

Immigrants from some nations are more predisposed to attack women

What a bloody load of crap this thread is. Net migration has fallen hugely this year, it went up horrendously under the Conservatives.

Labour aren't letting more people in. I wish they would, it's about time we got freedom of movement across Europe back.

You want more? Makes no sense at all!

No, YOU make no sense. Its fucking gibberish at this point frankly, thats the last reply you're getting.

Why? So there can be more beheadings in the street?

KateSixer · Yesterday 21:05

No it's true. Genuine asylum seekers are obliged by European law to seek asylum in the first safe country they get to. So they are all criminals by the time they get here.

Now European law is a bit of a shit show too but that is the legal position.

Ask yourself why? Answer: because we offer unrivalled benefits to the indigent and almost never ever send anyone back.

I sometimes wonder about this. Is there some agenda we were not aware of ? Maybe something to tackle an ageing population ? Otherwise why does it continue ?

This is what I worry about. Keir Starmer is very focused on accusing us of being the problem. He clearly doesn’t want to deal with this issue.

I hope it is as simple as the fact that he built his career as a human rights lawyer so his default setting is that we, as the ‘privileged West’ are the bad guys and it’s his duty to save the rest of the world from us. Otherwise I have no idea but it will be very bad for us in the future.

You literally said you wanted our criminals who are immigrants to be repatriated here....so yes you said you wanted more.

Are you able to distinguish between the asylum system and the EU FoM?

OonaStubbs · Yesterday 21:07

Stuff like this and the governments lack of doing anything tangible about it, is going to get Nigel Farage into power.

Probably not for the reasons you say though.

Net migration is down because so many wealthy Brits are leaving because of the anti-business policies of this govt.

This offsets the continued influx of the indigent and unskilled.

Incidentally the govt in their stupidity have also basically stopped highly skilled immigration into the UK (ie the type of immigrant that actually helps the economy).

Yes. Starmer said he would tread lightly on our lives and look after us.

So far he's trodden on my life like a deranged rhinoceros, and I've never felt more fearful for my families' future than I do today. Especially young female members of my family, and their friends.

And every speech made by Starmer attacking British people for wanting some say in who we share our country with. He’s a huge recruitment agent for Reform. Sometimes I wonder if he really doesn’t want to be PM any more.

Why is the rest of the UK such a pushover??? Just tell it like it is.

errrr people do take to the streets and are declared racists.

If you want European free movement we'd have to accept "passport Europeans" as well and no way to say no. Free movement seems nice and fun and all, but to have 0 control or limits on immigration whatsoever.....

Net migration has fallen but that’s mainly students not coming (sending our unis into financial difficulties). Are asylum seekers falling?

Lots of asylum seekers and economic migrants from Central African countries have experienced extreme violence. They come from places where machetes are commonplace. I’m not surprised that these people are prone to extreme violence if it has been normalised for them. I do wonder why they are given ILR and allowed to wander the streets though.

Are you prepared to accept beheadings in order to get your "high quality Eastern European" joiner? There are plenty of high quality British joiners btw. You just have to pay them their going rate.

I do not see what the government can do, frankly, such awful things cannot be anticipated. They've always happened. The police are more on the ball now than ever when it comes to catching and convicting perpetrators but they cannot prevent.
