If only…

Why are you bothered about it if you don’t even live here?

I ask again, where are you getting your information? Facebook? Twitter?

StarDolphins · Yesterday 22:56

Yes I think it possibly is too far gone. Life is worse than it was imo and it’s meant to improve (again, my opinion)

  • too many rude entitled people about & many more still at school that will come later
  • Unemployment (especially youth) and the general jobs market is dire
  • prices of everything too high either no improvement in sight
  • tree chopped down daily, countryside bulldozed for new houses
  • chavs everywhere
  • crime up and I’m absolutely sick of reading about rape and SA
  • far too many people offended about very little and far too much political correctness
  • nothing seems to run smoothly like it did, nurses at surgery don’t do blood tests now, you need to go elsewhere and they can’t book you in, you need to contact the other place, then there’s a wait, then it gets cancelled etc - sane with ordering scrips, surgery says no so you have to ring the order line that’s only open until 4pm.
  • LA’s are a mess, charging more & wasting more
  • welfare needs an overhaul, as does NHS

I think what this poster means is they’d like to go back to more police brutality and overt discrimination toward black and brown people. More stop and search, more casual beatings, that sort of thing. Bit like Soweto in the 1970s.

Dollymylove · Yesterday 22:58

Renamedefault · Yesterday 22:39

That’s not really an answer to my question.

Specifically what do you want the army to do that the police currently can’t or won’t do?

Get rid of the touchy feely soft policing and all wokey nonsense and bring law and order back. People and especially women, in many areas are scared to go in daylight, never mind at night 😡

I agree with this! I have a right to feel safe in my neighbourhood and so does my DD. I don’t feel safe going out at night.

I feel angry I can't get a GP appointment but the GP will give people appointments for other people who don't speak English with translators. I wonder how poor provision for taxpayers will have to get before this stops being sustainable. I don't think schools should prioritise send I think they should prioritise future taxpayers and self sufficiency. I don't think universities should prioritise applications from deprived backgrounds, I think they should prioritise kids who are smart. I don't think we should have voted for Brexit to prioritise Indian work visas instead.

But these views are all toxic and the only political options to back them are reform maniacs who will dismantle the last of the public sector and fuck us all permanently without fixing anything.

So.

Glad I'm old enough to hope to die in a couple of decades but sucks to be young.

How it was before?

Like when half the population died of bubonic plague?

Or when Vikings were invading, raping and pillaging as they went?

Or when children were sent up chimneys to clean them?

Yeah, the good old days weren't they?

Oh fgs

Well, the OP hasn’t said much at all except veiled insinuations. However, it doesn’t take a genius to join the dots, given they endorsed a post talking about police pandering to “certain groups” and espousing military rule. I’m pretty sure the “certain groups” isn’t a reference to morris dancers, or cyclists, or runners, or school mums. Who could they possibly be referring to 😂??

Because I want to return but am too worried too! All I ever see is people desperate to leave, scared fo make the wrong decision

Oh come on! There’s always one that takes it to extremes. It’s been a very long time since then, so likely op was talking about 20/30ish years so before this big decline. And you know this🙄

They’re toxic because they’re racist and factually completely incorrect.

No, they're not, most aren't even related to race. You want to be a puffed up goody two shoes but you're just ensuring life will be shit in the UK for the long term. Maybe you don't care too much because like me you're on the home strait.

I can get a GP appointment. I got one last week. I had the tests I needed, I was referred to the hospital and have an appointment next Tuesday. You can’t fault that.

I think your views about SEND children are abhorrent. Every child should be given the opportunity to reach their full potential. Not every child who has a disability will never work. If they don’t get the right support at school then their chances of working will reduce.

Dorisbonson · Yesterday 23:17

47% of nursery age children are white British, 53% are not. If you mean is it too late to stop the largest peacetime demographic and cultural change in history from happening in the UK then yes it is.

I make no observation about whether that change or the pace of it is good or bad or well managed.

IdaGlossop · Yesterday 23:17

Model answer:

The country has been ruined by wokery, socialism and the unions. Illegals get everything and the British get nothing. Britain should be for the British. Patriots who can trace their family back to William the Conqueror. Companies are only employing refugees. There are no jobs for Brits. The Islamists are taking over the streets praying on their carpets. Their women are breeding like rabbits. Britain will be a majority Muslim country by 2030. This is a Christian country. All council meetings and school assemblies should start with the Lord's prayer and the National Anthem. We have two -tier policing. Islamists' crimes get ignored because our police are too busy taking the knee to arrest anyone. They are eating our hamsters. Our pubs and churches are being turned into mosques. All the judges are using Sharia Law. This is our country but we get arrested and put in prison for frying pork pies in non-halal oil. The NHS is a joke. All the doctors and nurses are trans. All patients are forced to breastfeed, including the men and pensioners. It's ridiculous. Any young person who says they're gay is given puberty blockers without their parents knowing. But they tell their teachers. There are too many managers in the NHS. They all wear rainbow lanyards and say men can grow a cervix. Liebour is banning dogs and bacon sandwiches because they upset the Muslims. Britain was better in the 1950s. Everyone was white. We need a return to common sense. Our women are not safe on the streets because of all the illegals hanging around on street corners. I'll be voting Restore at the next election. Go high with Rupert Lowe. Because Reform and Nigel Farage have lost the plot. With Restore there will be mass deportations of illegals, the banning of vinderloo, the repeal of the Equalities Act, and the St George Cross flying from every lamp post and urinal from day one. We want our country back.

Typo

I sometimes feel I must live in a different version of the UK. Yes it's tough at the moment, the NHS is on its knees, things seem to cost a fortune etc but everyone I know seems to be just getting on with life, meeting up with eachother, enjoying themselves. This division is exaggerated by the media and social.media, most people just want to get on with life. It doesn't seem any worse then it did at any other time. I grew up with the miners strike, the threat of the ira, the threat of nuclear war etc.

I agree, so much of it is concocted on social media. Life really isn't that bad. I think people have lost touch with what really matters. We're not just some of the luckiest people on the planet in the UK, but probably some of the luckiest people to have ever lived. Honestly, I think some people's expectations of life are too high and that this is fueled by misinformation and influencers on social media. If you have a roof over your head, food in the fridge, clothes on your back, feel safe and secure, friends and family to share life with then compared to the entirety of history you've got the jackpot. We don't know how lucky we are, and people living even one hundred years ago would tell those who complain to give their head a wobble and quit being such ungrateful ghouls. Society is riddled with issues, inequality being the most pertinent, but we still shouldn't ignore just how lucky we are.
