i don’t want some paid influencer to tell me, i want real people to!

  • cyberjammies- the best most comfy pj’s I’ve ever had I now have 3 pairs
  • snag tights. I’ll never wear other tights again
  • Laura gelled face powder makeup- specifically bronzer to go which has a poof and a mirror built in

My most favourite purchases are:
We recently got a new kitchen and installed our first ever dishwasher - I genuinely never understood people's love for them - now I do!
Quooker tap - as above

Recently got HRT too which has also been a game changer

Sorry mine are boring, I don't use tiktok or IG so not into the influencer culture

I do however that my friends why are all rave about some crazy expensive hairbrush

"Kind" Dopamine patches and some stress control patches. Genuinely have lifted my mood and motivated me to do things, only a week into using them daily. Usually work really stresses me and my body feels anxious by the end of day but this week I've felt actually ok and I do think they've had something to do with it!

Could you give a little more detail on these please? Where do you get them?

onpills4godsake · 07/06/2026 08:22

Magnesium drink - I have tried healthy metal and trip - both are fabulous and have improved my ability to fall and stay asleep
Robot hoover mop- upgraded to the mopping one and it has halved my cleaning time

onpills4godsake · 07/06/2026 08:22

I adore my coffee machine but I have had it years it’s a sage espresso

A rice cooker, recommended by a friend who is Chinese.

I thought it would feel like cheating but actually it's amazing. I'll never cook rice any other way ever again (well, except biryani).

Absolutely agree. Bought a cheapish one to try, absolute game changer. I was rubbish at cooking rice and now it's always perfect!

Snag chub rub shorts

A snag bra… I got 2 and have been alternating washing and wearing. Wore an regular underwire bra the other day and wanted to cry 😂

Do you find the bra supportive with good shape as well as comfy? I do love a comfy bra but definitely need some support!

Which rice cooker? I also can't cook rice in a pan! I brought a microwave steamer and it still doesn't come out very nice!

I got a device for my cat flap that locks the flap when it detects my cats have prey in their mouth. Best purchase ever (although not cheap)

Please tell us more.

TitsWILLbetatted · 07/06/2026 08:29

Some heather plants for garden pots I've resurrected. Slugs and snails are not attracted to heather. Some newer pots in plastic that are very cheap but actually look ok (and could be put inside nicer planters if necessary, as they have drainage holes).

Rice is the one thing I can't cook! Spend a fortune on those horrid plastic pouches

Fidgety31 · 07/06/2026 08:33

An outside tap double adapter - so I can leave my hosepipe attached and also fill up my watering can .

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 07/06/2026 08:34

A wipe clean re-stickable menu board for the kitchen. No more scraps of paper floating around.

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 07/06/2026 08:36

Oh and a suction hook for the shower to keep my razor on.

GrumpySparkler · 07/06/2026 08:36

Concert tickets, theatre tickets, a holiday.

On the more mundane side, 4 small laundry baskets for each person in the house, so when the washing is dry it goes straight in to the right person's basket for them to take and put away. Just use the big one for transporting washing and towels now.

We use the Judge 2 person one from Amazon. Perfect rice & exact portions every time - love it!

Northernfashionista · 07/06/2026 08:37

Secondhand Lyma laser from eBay. Got it for a bargain £450 and it really works.

queenofwandss · 07/06/2026 08:38

LED face mask, bought on Vinted. I have been using it consistently and it’s made more difference to my skin than any cream or serum I have tried!

Lovely bedding that feels amazing against skin in the hot weather.

linelgreen · 07/06/2026 08:39

Hot water outside tap great for washing muddy dog, freshening up the patio or topping up swim spa

OpheliaNightingale · 07/06/2026 08:40

Humantra electrolytes

Girlintheframe · 07/06/2026 08:41

Audible! Love having books to listen when out walking the dog/doing housework etc.

1st time getting a painter and decorator in rather than doing it ourself. Been great to go out for the day then come home to a freshly decorated room.

cheezncrackers · 07/06/2026 08:41

I have a rice cooker too! We bought it after going to Japan last year and I love it. My Japanese friend recommended the Tiger, but those ones are at least £150 and I decided that was a bit steep, since we don't eat rice every day, so I got the YumAsia Panda.

Mine is the Russell Hobbs one. It wasn't too expensive (think it was about £35 on an Amazon returned item deal).

I am perfectly good at cooking rice but it just makes the whole process completely stress free!

OMG I know. I took mine camping with me.

hitothewellhole · 07/06/2026 08:45

Coverless duvets for the children

weighted blanket for my adhd husband

Cupboard drying rack - godsend

stair basket for anything that needs to be taken upstairs (usually hair bobbles and little toys or doll shoes) all go in on one swoop

cordless vacuum- game changer if you haven’t got one

dewy setting spray for my make up - looking like I have glass skin all year around

scented tumble dryer sheets in sofa cushions

silk sheets

fountain pen - my writing looks all fancy

face tan drops

my mum keeps going on about her slide on sketchers

fairy liquid there is just no other brand that works the way it does

I’ve been teaching myself to draw with tutorials on YouTube and suddenly I’m hooked on all things arty. So have been buying charcoal pencils, pastels and paints and the joy I’ve found when I purchase and then try them is amazing! I’m 55 and have discovered that I’m not bad at art, still a long long way to go to be able to draw without watching a tutorial but I’m loving the peace I feel from creating.
