2 Tier Britain and Policing - Digwa

Just heard Nigel talk about this on LBC following Digwa sentencing. Also saw the video... I'm shocked and so saddened. Not sure what my aibu is but I think we need to ban all religious weapons for a start . What do u think ? Are you in police ? Are you treating people differently?

I don't listen to LBC, but whatever Farage said, I'm against it.

I've scraped better things than that man off of the sole of my shoe.

Well normally I'd agree... it was just a quick 3 mins amongst different topics and I was surprised I agreed with him!! Then people dialled in saying the sane thing !

Why is the culprits brother mentioned as he was the one who called the police making unfounded accusations

Ablondiebutagoody · Yesterday 09:44

The photo of those accountants is very odd, grinning and totally happy that Digwa is standing in the office with an 8 inch dagger strapped to his chest.

LordofMisrule1 · Yesterday 09:56

YANBU.

I am married to a Sikh. Nobody in his family carries the dagger, because carrying a bladed weapon in public is insane. The whole idea is so that Sikhs can defend others if needed, but frankly if a Sikh whipped out a dagger to 'defend' someone they'd be rightly arrested and prosecuted. It's all ceremonial and outdated.

I think this will lead to the allowance for Sikhs to carry weapons being overturned, and rightly so. It cannot be allowed to continue that some people can carry knives around because of their religion and others can't.

And yes this incident is simply horrifying. What that poor young man went through as he lay dying made me cry. Telling the police he'd been stabbed and hearing 'I don't think you have mate' is just deplorable. There would be riots over this if it were the other way around.

Then you are part of the problem. You don't care what he said but he must be wrong? Even though one man died while being arrested?

I don't agree with Farage, or many politicians, but when they're right, they're right. Or because he said it's bad do you think a dead man must therefore be good?

shellyleppard · Yesterday 10:00

It wasn't the ceremonial dagger that was used to kill that poor young man...it was a 8 inch blade. I saw the video last night and I was in absolute tears. Even though he had been stabbed the police still handcuffed him. That poor lad. I hope his killer swings

shellyleppard · Yesterday 10:01

The police officers want sacking too, they are a disgrace to the police force

@Wellwhatnowbellaboo You agree with Farage politicising this murder and urging people to to respond with 'pure cold rage' when Henry Novak's family asked people not to do so?

Pathetic. The equivalent of putting your hands over your ears and loudly singing "lalala I can't hear you so you must be wrong!"

Common sense at last

It is political!

Have you seen what Farage has said?

Have you listened to Henry Novak's family?

Ipsevenenabibas · Yesterday 10:13

Henry Novak's family are in my thoughts and prayers. I am so deeply saddened that they have lost their son in the most brutal way. They can make any statement they wish but it doesn't negate the fact other people will have thoughts and feelings on the matter. They are free to voice whatever they want and other people are free to do so too.

Even if he is right you would say he is wrong? You are seriously bigoted and by posting that statement have made yourself look ridiculous.

Backedoffhackedoff · Yesterday 10:18

What do you mean by 2 tier policing?

I don’t think we need to ban ceremonial weapons, Sikhs carry them everyday and have for decades in the uk without significant incident.

we need to stop moving onto persecuting other people because we think we’ve exhausted the Muslims, or they’re not enough as the racists appetite grows more and more

ijustlovecoffee · Yesterday 10:18

Farage has exploited a tragic murder in order to further his hateful agenda.

The police sometimes make mistakes. A few weeks ago there were people on here defending the police’s right to stamp on a suspect’s head and kick them in the face. Either we allow police to do what they want to suspects, or we enforce standards.

ExecutorAttorneyAdvicePlease · Yesterday 10:21

Yes, Digwa tried to make it about race and he is a murderous thug. The weapon he used has nothing to do with Sikhism.

Dare I say, I don’t think the issue re: the police is about race or things going too far the other way.

They had a man lying on the ground, not resisting, not being aggressive but sounding distressed and disoriented. He was repeatedly saying he had been stabbed and they not only ignored it but told him he hadn’t. It was terrible and arrogant policing. Current and past police officers are calling for them to be disciplined, which says a lot, as they know about the training and procedure that should be followed.
