2 Tier Britain and Policing - Digwa

Wellwhatnowbellaboo · Yesterday 09:12

Just heard Nigel talk about this on LBC following Digwa sentencing. Also saw the video... I'm shocked and so saddened. Not sure what my aibu is but I think we need to ban all religious weapons for a start . What do u think ? Are you in police ? Are you treating people differently?

Racism is a serious problem for our society as a whole. It’s like the 70s again

Two tier politics and policing is a much bigger problem for society. It goes hand in hand with the race card. Real racism is a different matter. I am guessing you believe only white people can be racist. I can't be doing with such idiotic thinking.

The police went there with a pre determined outcome in mind, which was to arrest Henry for racially aggravated assault. No discernment. No professional

Their own words show them up, ‘Is anyone else injured’ ‘Yeah, my eye is swollen’

The first thing they were told when they arrived at the scene was he was bleeding from the mouth, and couldn’t hold himself up. He asked them to call him an ambulance.

Henry’s father’s statement highlights the difference in treatment.

His son was handcuffed and mocked, his killer was not placed in cuffs at any time.

His son was dragged across the gravel, the murderer was taken to the police kitchen to choose his meal.

They knew he and his family had all lied by this point. The difference is stark and disgusting.

This is what people mean by two tier policing.

So while Henry’s family may have not called for ‘cold rage’, or used the term ‘two tier policing’ , they have definitely highlighted the treatment their son received was vastly different from his killers, and want to know why

I'd add in the lack of public condemnation for the action, or inaction of the perpetrators family, especially patents, unless the criminal is white and working class.
The male police officer involved should face gross misconduct, at least. The family can call for what they want, but there's wider issues at play here, that affect us all.

One instance of with a Sikh isn’t 2 tier policing.

I don't listen to LBC, but whatever Farage said, I'm against it.

I've scraped better things than that man off of the sole of my shoe.

Really, so if he says what happened to that boy was awful you’d disagree with it. I hate Owen jones but I have agreed with a few things he’s said

These officers made an extremely serious error - but I highly doubt most police officers in this country would have been so stupid.

The murderer happened to be a Sikh - but very very few Sikhs go around stabbing people.

Do you think you sound smart when you type this nonsense? Does it excite you, get you pumped up?

one thing reform ukip and other politicians that peddle racism as a vote winner have certainly done is given the dim the confidence to spout their tripe continuously

You know ALL politicians do this, the remain camp tried to use Jo Cox murder to swing the referendum.

Many Sikhs are happy to wear a pendant and not carry an actual knife.

It's time we started treating everyone equally to prevent divisions. The racist guy that raped a Sikh woman is jailed for life (good) and it should be the same for illegal immigrants who rape white teenagers/young women, not letting them off as they didn't know or pathetic sentences.

The Sikh issue you know it’s not the problem. It’s the policing and their directions from above

LuckyHazelFox · Yesterday 11:04

Well, at least Starmer has finally acknowledged the case. Wonder if there will be a two minute silence in the House.

Awful poor boy and family. So distressing. And looks like majority are yanbu to the op.

I would say it's shocking that the majority isn't higher but it's not. Were Henry black, the consensus would be overwhelming. White boy murdered, race card played as defence, nothing to see here. Exactly the same with how anti-semitism is viewed.

For anyone who hasn't seen the video of footage of what happened, it's here:

Warning- it's very disturbing, and if you have normal levels of empathy you will probably never forget watching it, let alone head to the internet to defend the police or suggest anyone horrified must be part of the far right and a Farage apologist.

JuliaBraverman · Yesterday 11:14

'White lives matter' is far right rhetoric, a slogan started by white supremacists as a racist response to the BLM movement

Edited

Kemi badenoch who spoke a lot of sense on ITV this morning uttered those very words. She also said politician shouldn’t be on their knees using symbolism to win votes

What do you agree with, his racism or call to arms?

Don’t be ridiculous

Yes there’s a few posters doing that last part on here.

wishingonastar101 · Yesterday 11:16

Of course people shouldn't be allowed to carry weapons for any reason... where does it stop? I am a Jedi so I legally need to have my lightsaber with me at all times!
We respect and bow down to religions in this country that contradict our laws and rights and our culture. It makes no sense...

Thanks for posting that. As distressing and upsetting as it is, it's important to put it here.

Noodledog · Yesterday 11:18

Notice, right at the beginning someone (I think Digwa's father) says Henry has a mouthful of blood, so the police saying they weren't aware he was injured and didn't see any blood is a blatant lie.

Then he is manhandled, handcuffed and treated with zero compassion by the male officer.

Finally, the female officer gets around to checking him, and notices that "his pupils aren't even reacting". He died on the floor, handcuffed and having his rights read to him, surrounded by his murderer and the murderer's family.

This is why people are horrified and angry, not because they are terrible people, but because they have empathy for a dying 18 year old.

millymollymoomoo · Yesterday 11:18

The police were complicit in his death snd need to be put on trial. Poor lad the video is so distressing

the issue is

it is believed that racism only exists by white oeople
they wholeheartedly believe the killer because he was not white
they cared more about his turban than helping an innocent 18 yo laying dying on the ground
He should NEVER have been handcuffed
he should have been listened to and believed

by the same token the digwa on arrest was NOT handcuffed at any point and taken to choose his food at the station! After allowing Henry to die and his brother father and mother being complicit. They all need locking up ! I am disgusted but there will be the usual cover up

if this was reversed we all know the outcome - riots on the streets, taking the knee? Press all over it.? Yet an innocent white lad - silence. It’s despicable and yes we should ALL feel anger and outrage at his treatment. There is not enough of it,

and yes NOONE should be allowed to carry weapons / no religious exemptions. Thats a basic starting point.

and all the woke leftists ? Where are you speaking out your outrage at this and demanding justice for Henry ? Oh wait …, you’re pathetic and the problem

Cromoton · Yesterday 11:19

Tbh I’m not averse to dismantling outmoded religious superstitions. I think it’d be a healthy thing to do.

Araminta1003 · Yesterday 11:23

That footage is absolutely shocking and heart breaking!
