I think this will be removed / deleted but i am not saying anything untrue. Or factually incorrect. But here goes...

Since having my little girl just over a year ago I have started resenting men. I dont know why as my partner isnt bad. I just see them in a whole new light.

Firstly, years ago women couldn't vote and it was the done thing that they would look after the children and home and men were the providers. But, many women (not all!) Now have careers, go to work, earn their own money. We can now vote. Aswell as have a career, many women still take on majority of the housework and childcare. Not because men always refuse but they just dont, we do things automatically. Men, just dont think.

The other day I was driving to visit family and saw a car with its hazards on in the slip road... they have broken down i thought. Nope. A man was standing behind his car pissing. It got me thinking, ive never seen a woman pissing at the side of the road. We just wouldn't, so how do men find themselves in this situation? My dog can hold its bladder until "walkies" so what's the issue?

I read that men commit like 91% of murders, most rapes are men and men mostly abuse their partners. Men are more likely to commit suicide, men dont open up and speak about their feelings.. some men transition to become "women" and fight to enter women spaces. I know women transition to men but you dont hear about them!

I just dont understand. Men.. what is the actual problem??? Apart from sperm, what is your actual purpose??

The posts on here today.. oh my man was messaging a coworker inappropriately and he cant get her moved as it'll be suspicious... WHAT!! Nah he has played his part, otherwise it would be as simple as, hey HR this person is being inappropriate and its making me uncomfortable, here are the messages 🤣🤣

Or the other one, my man spent lots of money on my credit card and refusing to pay up... WHAT🤣🤣

What the fuck, we all play our part to with enabling such shit behaviour.

Very goady op.👏

Ive seen both sexes relieving theirselves in public.

Men are only good for sperm are they? What about all the dangerous jobs they do?

Very quick to forget that arent you.

All the dangerous jobs 🤣🤣🤣 okay then they are allowed to murder, abuse, rape... jeezo

Thank goodness you had a little girl then.

Given that statistics show that women are more prevalently employed in "Soft skills" work, I don't think it would be too long before society collapsed if we only had teachers and babysitters.

The majority of infrastructure - energy, transport and agriculture is run by men.

Women got the right to vote over 100 years ago. You're not incorrect but it seems to be a bit wild starting your argument with something that happened at the very least 3, if not 4 generations ago.

Not something you've even had a remote chance of experiencing yourself.

Edited

I live in Switzerland since a year ago and was shocked that women only gained the right to vote here in 1971. It then took until 1990 to force the last region to act on this change. So not very long ago! It makes me very angry

PlummyAndFruity · 20/05/2026 15:25

I agree OP. I'd add to your list the men from MAFS who have been accussed of rape and assault. Everyone on the threads about this saying it was only a matter of time and the situation the women were put in wasn't safe. Sounds like people think it's inevitable men will rape and assault women they are placed in close proximity to, if there are no witnesses. Scary.

The man bashing on this site is getting worse. If men did this on petrolheads you’d all be frothing

Well when women commit 98% of the sexual and violent crimes that occur then they may have a point. Until then..

They aren't "allowed" to do anything they go to prison if they get caught. Women also do murder and commit child abuse as well. But you want to gloss over that. Ok. Makes you look moronic, but you do you eh.

Its an inconvenient truth to you the the men do the most dangerous and dirty jobs in society. In fact society wouldn't function well if they weren't.

The more you type the more you reveal yourself as a bitter man hater.

Have you only recently awoken from a fifty year coma? (Or one lasting a hundred years, in fact?)

It shocked me to learn that American women were only allowed to open their own bank accounts in roughly the same year but I had assumed we were talking predominantly about the UK here.

Yes, 1971 is a shame and is within living memory for many.

1916 however is somones great, great grandma and OP would be so far removed from that experience that I don't really know why she's mentioning it.
Things have obviously changed since then.

We don't prosecute homosexuals anymore but i'm not so sure I hear people bitching about that.

I’ve had it with most men too, not all of them but most of them. I’ve also had it with everyone who is a bit of a dick though. So that’s a lot of people.
why can’t everyone be nice and kind and socially responsible. Look at how horrible a lot of posters are on Mumsnet? There are some seriously unpleasant people about. I wish they would just fuck off 😅
I think people are inherently programmed to look after themselves and not give much of a shit about anyone else.

2 tiny things dear.

  1. men are only good for sperm... tell me how you get on when your house or car needs fixing.
  1. Men "allowed" to do the disgusting acts you mentioned. Utter nonsense.

Give your head a proper wobble.

CatsandSun · 20/05/2026 15:36

Not proud of this but I’ve had to pull over and wee behind a bush at the side of the road more than once.. surely I’m not alone in that?!?

Monty36 · 20/05/2026 15:37

My man is lovely. My dad was lovely.
Some men aren’t.
But then some women aren’t either. And some are lovely.

Pinkyorbluey · 20/05/2026 15:39

I agree feeling very resentful today at 1 year postpartum

This kind of frothing upsets me as the mother of a son, auntie to two nephews, wife etc.
My son is a lovely, kind man who I have raised to be responsible and thoughtful, does he get it right every single time, probably not but does every woman you know get everything right every time?
I also have a daughter so I have to see things from both sides, she would be heartbroken to think people (women) were discussing her brother in such derogatory terms.

I am glad some people still show common sense on this forum. It's too rare.

Perhaps because we really wouldn't have any significant justification for doing so?

I can't talk for everyone, but long-distance female runners need the loo just as much as men do! They just try to be a bit subtle about it.

Augustus40 · 20/05/2026 15:44

There are way more men locked up than women.

In general women commit far less crime.

Dollymylove · 20/05/2026 15:44

LavenderSkiesxo · 20/05/2026 15:31

How am I a man hater? What have I said that is untrue??

You gave us a big clue in your OP, asking what is the point of men apart from their sperm.
Nothing about running into burning buildings to rescue babies.
Going up ladders with scaffolding to build your new extension.
Drive bin lorries emptying your crap (very rarely see a female binman)
Fighting wars on the front line so you dont have to.
Go out into the garden in the middle of the night because you thought you heard an intruder.
Moving that huge hairy spider out of the bath
What do men possess far more of than women do? Physical strength.
And despite your rambling hate fest, most of them use it for good, not bad.
I just hope that you never give birth to a son, God help the poor kid if you do!!

You’re putting them all in one box, it’s not true that all men murder, all men abuse or all men rape… some men do, true but women are also guilty of some those things aswell.

LavenderSkiesxo · 20/05/2026 15:46

I just wonder why we arent asking what is wrong with men collectively? So everyone who thinks im wrong. Do you honestly think men are fine and its "some" men. I take it when you are raising your daughters you wont be warning them about men?

I'm a woman, and at various times over the years, day and night, I've had to pull the car over and try to find some woods or behind a bush for a piss, getting my shoes and trousers off, piss, then back on as soon as I can, and a few times I've come dangerously close to being caught!

I think this proves the point the OP is making, very well.

We pull the car over and try to find somewhere discrete. We don't just squat down and do it in full view.

I said to my son the other day - "have you ever walked home with your front door key in between your first 2 fingers?" He thought I was mad.

My daughter however, would know immediately why I was asking.
