Men... are u okay? What is the problem?

I think this will be removed / deleted but i am not saying anything untrue. Or factually incorrect. But here goes...

Since having my little girl just over a year ago I have started resenting men. I dont know why as my partner isnt bad. I just see them in a whole new light.

Firstly, years ago women couldn't vote and it was the done thing that they would look after the children and home and men were the providers. But, many women (not all!) Now have careers, go to work, earn their own money. We can now vote. Aswell as have a career, many women still take on majority of the housework and childcare. Not because men always refuse but they just dont, we do things automatically. Men, just dont think.

The other day I was driving to visit family and saw a car with its hazards on in the slip road... they have broken down i thought. Nope. A man was standing behind his car pissing. It got me thinking, ive never seen a woman pissing at the side of the road. We just wouldn't, so how do men find themselves in this situation? My dog can hold its bladder until "walkies" so what's the issue?

I read that men commit like 91% of murders, most rapes are men and men mostly abuse their partners. Men are more likely to commit suicide, men dont open up and speak about their feelings.. some men transition to become "women" and fight to enter women spaces. I know women transition to men but you dont hear about them!

I just dont understand. Men.. what is the actual problem??? Apart from sperm, what is your actual purpose??

The posts on here today.. oh my man was messaging a coworker inappropriately and he cant get her moved as it'll be suspicious... WHAT!! Nah he has played his part, otherwise it would be as simple as, hey HR this person is being inappropriate and its making me uncomfortable, here are the messages 🤣🤣

Or the other one, my man spent lots of money on my credit card and refusing to pay up... WHAT🤣🤣

What the fuck, we all play our part to with enabling such shit behaviour.

Poor little innocent women being dragged into torture and murder. We all need chaperoning as we obviously aren't capable of controlling ourselves if a man is involved.

Didn't RW commit her first murder when FW was in prison?

Yes she did. Evidence shows she was the more evil of the two.

Secondtrythebest · 20/05/2026 20:08

I agree with you OP, men are redundant nowadays hence all the aggressive, sexist and violent behaviours. It's actually quite entertaining (or frightening and sad depending on your point of view), to look at gorgeous young men in their late teens / early twenties turn into ugly, hairy, bald things, all ravaged by testosterone ; men actually age terribly, they are mainly boring as hell and so obsessed with sex and being desired for who they are, it's pathetic. Of course women are capable of appalling deeds but men take the bucket. Oh and the so-called indispensable inventions that actually turn out to have been discovered or engineered by women, only to have them stolen away by men

emuloc · 20/05/2026 16:37

Yes, this. I feel for the young boys out there, with some of the attitudes about Men, that I read on here.

I think the young boys will be fine.

shihtzuu · 20/05/2026 20:12

I don't know. I've thought about this over and over. Men go on to commit horrific crimes and they have poor mental health and high suicide. There was an earlier thread here on child psychopaths. I think a lot of them were young boys. Who either end up hurting someone or themselves badly. So I find it hard to feel sympathy. My friends ex used to constantly threaten suicide and lie for no reason if she ever wanted to break up with him. Absolutely not okay. In today's time that's abuse. My best friend was also r*ped. The guy can't be found online anywhere. I imagine if he is and she raised a case He would end his life. :/ obviously not all men but I was shocked to see what even goes on in my boyfriends boys group chat. Racist derogatory jokes. I think a lot of their poor Mh is through their own despicable actions imho. Men really do need to be taught what's ok/isnt okay. As do girls too. I am just so glad I went to an all girls school.

Then missy you were made for each other.

As previously mentioned men invented basically everything you use, want, and rely on. So I suggest you do without every single thing in your life including procreation and then ask “of what use are men?” Other than keeping a stable and prosperous society and providing everything we all actually need throughout the entirety of history of course.

You do realise why all those things were invented by men don't you?
I'll give you a hint - it's not because women aren't capable

LavenderSkiesxo · 20/05/2026 15:46

I just wonder why we arent asking what is wrong with men collectively? So everyone who thinks im wrong. Do you honestly think men are fine and its "some" men. I take it when you are raising your daughters you wont be warning them about men?

Op you’re not wrong. I like individual men, and individual women are not necessarily better than individual men, but men as a whole are vile. I can’t think of a single metric which denotes a decent person (crime stats, single parent stats, domestic abuse stats, drinking/drug abuse stats, etc) where women don’t outperform men as better human beings.

I have a son who I love to bits, as well as a daughter, and of course I adore him and will cherish him as a unique individual. But that doesn’t take away the evidence of my eyes and ears.

The vast and overwhelming majority of seriously negative behaviours in society are committed by men. Having a nice dad or whatever doesn’t change that.

It’s also not lost on me that now they get called out for their shitty behaviour, and we don’t tolerate any old rubbish any more, the ‘manosphere’ has reared its ugly head to put us back in our places again.

HelenHywater · 20/05/2026 20:14

I think some of the responses on here are incredible:

  • I'm a woman and I piss in public
  • I avoid women in train stations
  • I don't carry my keys in my hand
  • Why are the women allowing men to use their credit cards/text other women
  • Women are more likely to kill their babies
  • Let's all think of the poor boys!

Jesus Christ, the OP phrased it poorly (possibly) but there's no denying that men commit the majority of violent crimes, that men abuse and discriminate against women, that men denigrate and put women down, that men pay women less, and that misogyny, worklplace discrmination are very real and that the world is a far more dangerous place for our daughters than our sons. It doesn't make me a man hater to say this. And yes I do warn my daughters about all men. Because I can't tell (and neither can they) who is safe and who isn't.

So? The fact there was a male inventor 150 years ago doesn’t make men a great sex class does it?

HelenHywater · 20/05/2026 20:16

(i haven't had to warn my sons about those dangerous girls, but I have had to warn them about other men who might attack them when they're out late at night).

ByFirmShaker · 20/05/2026 20:16

Men aren't more likely to commit suicide. They are more likely to choose methods with higher success rates (for want of a better term). Rates of suicidal ideation are much higher in women and 1.5 times more women than men attempt suicide.

Evidence from investigators and psychologists says that Rose West was not coerced and was an equal partner in these heinous crimes. She was also solely responsible for murdering her daughter as Fred was in prison. Evidence says that she was the more evil of the two.

Yes I think it’s broadly accepted now that she was the mastermind of all of it and Fred was her weapon of choice. I remember one of their children saying afterwards Rose would savagely beat them if they did something wrong to the extent even Fred intervened to stop her saying it was going too far.

The pair of them are evil psychopaths though

Women got the right to vote over 100 years ago. You're not incorrect but it seems to be a bit wild starting your argument with something that happened at the very least 3, if not 4 generations ago.

Not something you've even had a remote chance of experiencing yourself.

Edited

why? the historical context is completely relevant when it comes to the overall topic of subjugation of women. You couldn't make the argument without taking it into consideration. Not to mention that, while OP may still not have directly experienced it (and since when do you have to directly experience something to care about it?) women only got the right to vote in many countries much more recently - France in the 1940s, Switzerland 1970s etc. The US has still never had a female president.

We can't take things for granted - in 5 years women in Afghanistan have gone from 25% of parliament to not being able to take part in any public life at all.

We can't assume things in the past will stay there!

Calling out on toxic behaviours has been done by classical authors for several centuries now - literally. Your list started with behaviours already described in Anna Karenin, many short stories by Maupassant, and (forgot who wrote) Phaedra. All done. People do not learn. Not one bit.

Men bashing? Aren't I pointing out the truth?
Are u a man? If so what's the problem????

What does your husband say about why he's the way he is?

Waitingfordoggo · 20/05/2026 20:38

I’m late to the female torture-killers bit of the discussion, but I think Rosemary West was/is genuinely sadistic, with or without Fred. Whether she would have actually DONE those things without Fred, I don’t know, but I think she had it in her. Probably as a result of her own brutal childhood (which isn’t an excuse- lots of male killers also had horrendous childhoods).

But the point is that Rosemary West is highly unusual. There are very, very few women who do things like that, which is exactly why Rose and Myra always get brought up in these discussions, whereas their male equivalents are numerous- there are, and have been throughout history, literally thousands of men across the globe doing things like that.

Pigeonatthewheel · 20/05/2026 20:43

Lots of mentions of inventions, but what about literature, art, music, film & television. Women of course make excellent contributions to all these fields, but would the OP happily spend the rest of her days excluding contributions in these fields created by men as they are ‘only good for sperm’?

They certainly were.

I would say that the vast majority of people who have treated me badly in my life have been men
I would also say that the humans I have met thus far whom I find inspiring and impressive have all been women.

Why not bring back the ridiculous idea of a men's curfew, such a crazy thread to read.

How mant times have you crossed the road to avoid a man? Or been wary when out when its dark? Or drink being spiked?? Its all men.

It is. There should be an island just for women. We could all relax and have pets and grow things and have a nice life.

I'm a woman, and at various times over the years, day and night, I've had to pull the car over and try to find some woods or behind a bush for a piss, getting my shoes and trousers off, piss, then back on as soon as I can, and a few times I've come dangerously close to being caught!

Why??? You just pull your trousers down and squat??? If your hitting a shoe, you just bend the other way???

treetophome · 20/05/2026 21:06

Some of your points about mental load, violence statistics and unequal childcare are valid, but this post feels like you’re taking understandable frustration and turning it into contempt for half the population.

If someone wrote “apart from childbirth what is the purpose of women?” everyone would immediately recognise that as misogynistic.

Also, did you never contemplate the awfulness of women not having the vote prior to having a child? - it never even once occurred to you?? 🙄

Perhaps men could each have their own island; that would work better.

I know what you mean, I would have said I was a feminist prior to having babies but afterwards, found myself a lot less tolerant of nonsense behaviour. And there is a lot of it out there.

Just yesterday I read a BBC piece about the Taliban banning midwifery courses in Afghanistan so women can’t study. Where the fuck do they think they came out of? What do they think will happen? Stone Age nonsense.

Yes, there are men everywhere who won’t take advantage of a power imbalance, but a high proportion of them will.
