No point in writing to him. He has been clear where his sympathies lie and it's not with women. He says he wants to reach a consensus, but the consensus he wants is for women to keep the peace by going "Oh, go on then, trans women are women and they should be allowed to do whatever they want, all of the time. Welcome to our changing rooms!". Best hope is that his bare faced misogyny sinks any hope he has of becoming party leader. A pity really because it would be nice to have a left winger in charge of Labour.

Tbh I don’t really get the toilet argument about trans women perving if they use a toilet. I have never been in a toilet with a thought that someone is looking to be a pervert. The cubicle door locks, it isn’t see through.
I am much more sympathetic to changing rooms if single cubicles aren’t used a whole host of penis are in display - I haven’t seen this. The trans women using my gym change in cubicles.
I would want anybody to feel they have to feel really uncomfortable by using a space they didn’t feel represented who they are.
I am so sad that many feel this is the biggest issue our country faces and needs to email

I mean, that’s factually incorrect. You can be born with a vagina and in fact have XY chromosomes and internal testes. You can be born with male genitalia but have XX chromosomes.

Except that’s not the vast majority or trans or intersex people. And if someone wants to do something for criminal purposes, do you really think they’d be put off by being told they weren’t allowed in the loo?

Does your house have single sex toilets? Do you refuse to use the loo at other people’s homes? Those aren’t single sex. What about intersex people - where do you expect them to use the loo?

What about the staff that clean the toilets? Motor way services for example have signs that say "these toilets are cleaned every hour by both male and female staff" -as do many other public toilets!

Why are people so obsessed on here with trans women using female public bathrooms? AS IF predatory men need to pretend to be trans to seize opportunities to rape assault and harm us - they've been doing it anyway AS MEN since forever! And surely it's probably a lot easier to dress like a cleaner/janitor to gain access to women's toilets to rape women if that's what they're planning to do! Ffs.

And what about male doctors or nurses in obstetrics and midwifery and gynaecology?

And women who have had trauma? Or want single sex spaces for religious reasons? No it’s all about the men.
