Reading through your comments, you very clearly consider men in dresses using men's toilets at risk. You insulted another person about their "lack of imagination" in relation to them suggesting they should use the gents, implying they're unsafe.

And then you suggest they should use disabled facilities.

What exactly are you claiming to have meant?

That poster said that I supported men in dresses using women's facilities. I did not, because I don't.

I think anyone who can't imagine, in some places, a man in a dress being verbally and possibly abused in a gents loo then I stick by my statement that is a lack of imagination, since it already happens out on the streets.

And yes, that is a problem that is caused by men. That does not mean we have to have a complete absence of empathy for their situation.

What empathy have TIM shown to women? I mean, rape threats, death threats, physical abuse, verbal abuse…. Just to women saying no. Why do women owe these men empathy?

So message to men that this is unacceptable. As women generally bear the brunt of men's bad behaviour, I'm not sure it's beholden to them to do much performative empathy here. People should be treated with respect, of course. Focus on the problem, not women's reaction.

My empathy is not performative. There is a group of men who have been misled into believing they had rights they don't have. By people at the very top of politics and business.

They have genuinely lost something that they thought they were entitled to. I feel sorry for them.

There are men involved in all this who had nothing to do with threats to or abuse of women who are affected by this too. They have been "done to" by Stonewall as much as women, gay and lesbian and bi people have.

Your sympathy would be better directed to the people who have received the greatest abuse and harm from this long, sorry saga; women!

No men have lost anything. None lost a perfectly acceptable place to relieve themselves or their livelihood for speaking out.
