AIBU to want my sister to leave my local crows alone?

I have been feeding a group of crows near my house and we’re just getting to the point where they wait for me now in a morning and come very close. My sister has decided she wants in on it but I’ve told her to go and find her own murder as I’ve put in all the hard work with these ones. I told her there is a murder across the way on the field she could do and feed.

this morning I was coming home from shop and there she was feeding Russel from my murder. I shouted at her and she shouted that they’re not my fucking crows, at the point a woman walking a dog walked past and tutted so sister shouted that they’re not my crows and I was shouting at her. The woman just carried on walking but this was right near my house!!

AIBU to think she should just go and feed the others???

HRTFT but get a mask made of your sister's face and scare your murder whilst wearing said mask. The crows will then attack your sister and love you more, job done.

Give her some Kia ora to give to them, it’s too orangey for crows and they will flounce in disgust

Applause

You need to walk away from Russel, op. I’m seeing red flags all over the place.
Let your sister have him and she’ll find out the hard way.

This could work @AliceNotInChains 😊

Schoolchoicesucks · 19/05/2026 13:56

I thought we were meant to be avoiding feeding birds seed at the moment to prevent disease spread. Are crows exempted?

I love this! I also feed my local crows - they are mine now. I hoping that they will bring me shiny things in exchange for peanuts.
YANBU.

Bring you shiny things? That's magpies, you wally! 🤣🤣🤣

I’d be fuming too. I’ve been thinking about finding my own murder recently. Hope they remain loyal to you.

Are you worried that Russel will prefer your sister over you? I'd be more annoyed at Russel, zero loyalty from crows these days.

Agreed. Honestly I think russel is playing you against eachother the cheeky bastard

InterestedDad37 · 19/05/2026 14:00

I love the crow names 😂

38thparallel · 19/05/2026 14:00

Re the spelling, Chaucer used the single ‘L’:

This Chanticleer stood high upon his toes,
Stretching his neck, and held his eyen close,
And gan to crowe loude for the nonce
And Dan Russel the fox start up at once,
And by the gorge hente Chanticleer, seized by the throat
And on his back toward the wood him bare

Cherrysoup · 19/05/2026 13:10

This is ridiculous. They aren't 'your' crows and they have no loyalty to you. Do you live together?

I am sorry. I had my OWN fox that I fed some leftovers, and then bastard neighbours started feeding her premium dog food. My fox turned out to be a political prostitute and does not even sit by my window anymore. I shall see how she likes it when they are gone to Cyprus for a month in a few weeks' time.

P.S. Tell your sister to get to fuck and leave YOUR crows alone.

ChequerToRed · 19/05/2026 14:01

Honestly? I think you should consider writing sketch comedy, because this is absolute gold

Pippapotamus · 19/05/2026 14:01

I dont know my crows well enough yet to give them names. I do have 2 pigeons called Ricky and Bianca. They were there before the crows and seem to get a bit bullied sometimes

Selkie33 · 19/05/2026 13:58

who's the wally @NameChangeMay2026 ?

Oh, those are American crows. Totally different crow-culture.

Does Bianca screech out fer her birdy mate @Pippapotamus ?

NameChangeMay2026 · 19/05/2026 14:06

This reminds me of my late elderly neighbour who would use "Stone the crows!" as an expression of surprise. 🤣

(Do not stone any crows.)

This is what the old folk used to call "cupboard love". They love where they get fed best!

AliceNotInChains · 19/05/2026 13:19

No im sick of her waiting for me to start something and then swooping in to take over.

Swooping in like a crow?

Funnys · 19/05/2026 14:09

This is hilarious 😂

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 19/05/2026 14:10

That Russel is a floozy. And are you sure they aren't either jackdaws or rooks?

MiddleAgedDread · 19/05/2026 14:10

For the sake of anyone else who lives near you please stop feeding the crows!! They are fucking noisy and shit everywhere. Would happily murder them.

EmeraldShamrock000 · 19/05/2026 14:10

They’ve no loyalty.
I have two visiting herons, beautiful, one is very brave he arrives daily and lands on the garden table waiting on food, the second fella hides on the shed pretending he’s not watching me putting out food.
The neighbour doesn’t like it. They like to squawk loudly when leaving.

AMurderofMurderingCrows · 19/05/2026 14:11

AliceNotInChains · 19/05/2026 13:31

That’s not a bad idea actually - I could easily stage something

I can put the word out in my murder... it may not end well for your sister though...

I think it’s OK if you’re very careful to keep your feeders clean. I brought mine in but, when I saw a sad looking blue tit, I cracked and put out seed
