Does anyone else find it a bit strange that they just disappeared off air and are still not back?
They say it’s due to budget cuts and stick on a load of game show repeats. It’s a P take, can’t believe we pay a tv licence for this

When are they back? Barely watching itv now

I heard it is all the fault of woke, Muslim benefit claimants.

Robert Jenrick, is that you? Or is it Suella Braverman?

I would think getting into a fight down the local working men's club would be more fun than watching LW 😬

It isn’t, believe me

Janet Street Porter turns my stomach. Every chance she gets she brags about all the men she's had, all her marriages, and the affairs that she's had. She seems to wear her affairs like some kind of badge of honour. The woman genuinely repulses me. 😖If she had not been famous, no way would any of the men have been remotely interested in her. She always mocks and derides anything SHE doesn't believe in or have an interest in too, and laughs at it.

And yes, it's always the Denise Show when Denise Welch is on. Constantly yabbering on about herself and her struggles with depression. Yes I KNOW it's good to talk about this kind of thing, but when the subject comes up, she ALWAYS makes it all about her.

I find Coleen Nolan quite annoying too. She's always got a smart remark for every occasion, and often comes out with some kind of tedious Carry On Film innuendo.

GK Barry is bearable, but tries too hard to be funny. And she often isn't. She seems to be on quite a bit on TV at the moment, but she won't last as she's got no discernable talent, she's just an 'influencer.' She'll be like Scarlett Moffatt. Famous for nothing, all over everything for a short while, and then struggling to get work when everyone in TV realises she hasn't got an actual talent.

Frankie Bridge is OK, but has spoilt her pretty face with awful botox and fillers. She looks lke she's sneering now when she smiles. Frankie won't last if Loose Women is finished either. Again, not really any discernable talent. She was part of a 'famous for 5 months' singing group in the noughties, and a five piece female singing group in the 2010s. On her own, she has very little to offer.

I do like Olivia Attwood quite a lot, but again, not much discernable talent, although...... she is decent presenter, so she will very likely carry on on TV without Loose Women. (If it was scrapped.)

Also can't remember any of the others at this point.

Peak time evening TV on ITV tonight (7.30pm) is Celebrity Lingo. 😫 Kill me now.

I switched off when Ruth Langsford wanted to take WLI to lose a few pounds. Do your research as a journalist, these are serious drugs for obese people.
Its lazy to comment when you can't be arsed to read up on your topics for discussion. Since then they've all dismissed the use of the medication with particular venom from Kay who is slim.
I even turn off QVC when Ruth Langsford is on. Smug madam.

I love Ruth! She’s had a hard time and hasn’t seemed herself lately, I don’t think she’s smug at all

Or a TV licence for that matter

It's a common misconception that the TV licence is only for BBC. You actually need a TV licence to watch all TV channels. You can Google that.

SemiRetiredLoveGoddeess · 16/04/2026 20:18

Best news l heard all day. Loose Women has been well past it's sell by date for a good few years.

It was just same old one and nine for each programme. With the odd interesting guest

Most of the Panel and Presenters were really two faced or false. And frankly overpaid and just boring.

Goodbye and Good Riddance
You will not be missed.

Didn’t she lose loads of excess flab when she left her husband?

Everyone keeps saying that the TV Licence fee isn't for ITV programmes, which is technically true.
Although, you can't watch ITV at the time programmes are aired without a TV Licence, so technically, the OP was right in what they said.

AntiqueBabyLoanSmurf · 16/04/2026 13:20

But IF you don't have the internet and use streaming and you do rely on linear TV - as is still the case for a significant proportion of elderly people - it is a workaround.

It's the same content, from the same provider, but depending on your device you either have to pay or you don't. No different in principal from if you could pick up a trolley of food at the supermarket and, if you use checkout 1, you have to pay in full; but if you use checkout 2, they let you have it free... except that checkout 2 is narrower and has a stiff turnstile in front of it, so many people will have no trouble using it, but some people, depending on their personal circumstances, will find it very difficult or impossible to use.

It isn't a 'workaround' for those people as they don't have the internet, meaning they won't be accessing streaming services.

Cantatopeatingthespicyones · 17/04/2026 09:31

Apparently they’re cutting down the amount of presenters on at each time too…soon it will just be Kaye Adams sat there! It’s ridiculous

Surely it is a cheap programme to make. It's just women in a studio talking.

It's not the most expensive but its not the cheapest either. 4 x talent fees, studio hire, crew cost etc for the day vs a game show with 1 x talent fees and recording a week's worth of episodes in a day, so the same studio and crew costs give you 5 episodes rather than 1.

In terms of the OP's question though, there's nothing mysterious about it. TV budgets are being slashed across the board as year on year there is less money coming in from ad sales. We try to make savings, to see how shows can be made for less, but there will come a point where a show isn't worth it when you compare what it costs to make with what it costs to air. Loose Women has hit that tipping point and is now cost effective when sharing studio space with This Morning, airing for 30 weeks a year, with no guests or studio audience. If those cost savings still weren't enough then it would have to come off air. It's the reason shows like The Big Breakfast and Rise were replaced with repeats of The Simpsons - the costs of producing two hours of live breakfast TV didn't balance with the ad spend even 20 years ago.

Middleagedspreadisreal · 17/04/2026 12:28

Bloody awful programme

usernamealreadytaken · 17/04/2026 13:10

MendingWall · 15/04/2026 12:42

Well, ITV as a commercial broadcaster is not funded by the TV licence fee so you’re not paying for it. But on that basis, if they’re not making new ones it’s probably because the advertising revenue doesn’t cover the cost of production.

To be correct, if OP is watching it live then she is paying the licence fee to do so, but not if on catch-up. The licence fee covers all live broadcast channels.
