Does anyone else find it a bit strange that they just disappeared off air and are still not back?
They say it’s due to budget cuts and stick on a load of game show repeats. It’s a P take, can’t believe we pay a tv licence for this

When are they back? Barely watching itv now

I heard it was going to be on less weeks, was no longer going to have a live audience and wasn't going to have any guests to save money. I wouldn't have been sad if it wasn't coming back though.

5 hours of bloody crap game shows! Confused

I don't know why this posted multiple times. I'm so sorry. Blush

OonaStubbs · 15/04/2026 17:08

What is ITV showing instead of it?

Dickinson's Real Deal (R)

MajorProcrastination · 15/04/2026 17:23

It's a bin fire of a show. The worst part of being off work sick that will automatically make me look for a cosy film instead.

Cantatopeatingthespicyones · 15/04/2026 15:55

Why, do you love them too?

I do really like loose women but the post itself made me laugh.

Well I heard it was Trump. Apparently he caught Melania watching a bootleg copy to improve her English and was horrified because he believed someone had leaked his What To Do With Pesky Wimmin plans for his third term of office, apparently the idea was to feed US women a diet of Loose Women, Desperate Housewives of New York and Meghan Markle programmes until their brains exploded with the input of such intellectual rigour, or was it melted with boredom, one or the other.

He wasn’t happy anyway so spoke to his very good and beautiful friend the King and had the series pulled.

I heard that it was because Linda Robson was sending him photos of herself in the nuddy

Bubblebathbefore8 · 15/04/2026 17:40

That poor kitten was exposed to Linda Robinson’s nudes too.

Just before they went off air a few weeks ago they said they would be back after Easter.

So for the other 22 weeks of the year when LW isn’t on it will be the News, Racing or a repeat of a game show like Celebrity Catchphrase.

They have moved to a small studio in Covent Garden. This Morning and Lorraine also broadcast from there. Their studios are in a small basement. They have to share dressing rooms and only have one make up team between them. There has been some shocking make up on LW since the move, they must have to rush them. Lorraine is going off air permanently at the end of the year, hallelujah.

So moving to a small studio doesn’t have room for an audience or a Green Room for guests. ITV have got rid of loads of production staff and back room staff.

When they announced that there would be a mass cull of production staff they stopped Andi Peters, Jeff Brazier and co going on jaunts to luxury resorts to plug the competitions. Instead they did them from a studio or low key UK places.

But now they are back on jaunts and jollys in luxe places again. A kick in the teeth for all the redundant people.

They are due back on screens this April

Phew! Not long to wait then …

Its such a bad look There could have been some pay cuts for those on screen to keep at least some of the backroom staff on

TheClangyClunk · 15/04/2026 17:57

I worry about getting old in case I get put in a home and have to watch shite telly. And watch community theatre groups doing skits about the war.

JustSawJohnny · 15/04/2026 17:59

Cantatopeatingthespicyones · 15/04/2026 15:55

Genuinely assumed they were being sarcastic!

I can't stand the show but obviously it is frustrating when shows you enjoy are removed.

That said, the licence fee is entirely irrelevant and surely the show can't be on all year round?

Do they not take a break for a few weeks?

You don't pay for Channel 4

SoJaunty · 15/04/2026 18:05

Loose Women is like the rest of daytime TV - shite. I get that people watch it for 'company' and background noise but it's a shame there's no intelligent company to be found.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 15/04/2026 18:09

Denise Welch- Constantly talking about herself and her sobriety
Janet Street Porter- Im so clever and much more educated than you all.
Frankie Bridge/Olivia Attwood- 30 somethings for rent.

Forgotten everyone else

nopiesleftinthisvehicle · 15/04/2026 18:16

The only thing worth watching before 9pm at night are the channel 4 morning showings of Frasier 🤓

AClassicTrenchcoat · 15/04/2026 18:26

Frasier is superlative tv. That scene where Niles set fire to his trousers, a long scene done in one take, a masterclass of comedy.

Charlize43 · 15/04/2026 18:39

It says it isn't ending but changing? Maybe something for a younger demographic (since there are all the unemployed teenagers + growing) called 'Gobby Cows.'

Like the two teenage schoolgirls this afternoon who were standing either side of the bus exit doors and wouldn't move and when I said, 'excuse me, I'd like to get off please' glared at me for speaking to them and still didn't move and then one muttered, 'hag' before sniggering at each other as I was getting off.

I thought to myself, 'you'll both be hags one day if you get that far...' I'm 59.

Omg with phone ins from Gen X, millennials and boomers depending on the day. I would watch this 😂😂

AClassicTrenchcoat · 15/04/2026 18:42

Pity their parents @Charlize43 you could leave them where they were stood. Their parents are stuck with the little cows.

💯

The best bit of physical comedy in a sit-com ever.

LlynTegid · 15/04/2026 19:44

I was in the audience for a show in early 2000. We didn't have broadband, catch up tv, debit cards were fairly new, for example.

It's so long ago that it is a wonder the show is still on at all. Tv audiences are only a fraction of what they were which must be reflected in advertising revenue.

RedRiverShore6 · 15/04/2026 19:47

Isn’t it because of Easter holidays

Mumandcarer80 · 15/04/2026 19:49

I’m not surprised itv have been making cutbacks and Loose women has had its day. Does anyone actually watch it still?
