Only knickers in the Co-op

A teenage girl (aged 15 or 16, roughly) in front of me in the Co-op was wearing a crop-top and a pair of knickers only. Not bikini bottoms, not short shorts but cotton M & S midi style knickers. I didn’t say anything (none of my business and she probably wouldn’t have approved my sartorial choices either). If I had been her mother, seeing her before she left the house, I would have said that it looked unhygienic and wasn’t an appropriate way to go to the shops.
YABU: People of whatever age can dress how they like when they go to the Co-op.
YANBU: A mini-skirt or pair of shorts are a minimum requirement when you’re off to the shops.

Loved every word of this, @EleanorMc67. A charity shop in Wimbledon treated me like royalty for the couple of weekends I spent clearing out my vintage/designer size tens 😂 Shops are less excited by the mass-produced size 16s (size 20 in old money, I don't delude myself) I now donate; it's a mystery.

The astonishment of less fashionable observers was all part of the fun, as in your restaurant experience. So was sashaying past them to the front of the queues for exclusive clubs! It makes me happy to see young people pushing the style boundaries now. Long may they offend.

Oh please let me delude myself for a bit longer ... I'm now a size 16!!!

And yes it was fun, wasn't it?!! No see-through dresses for me anymore ...

... but I am going to let my 23-year-old, size 10 goddaughter have a good rummage through the older stuff I've kept, & I hope she finds plenty of things to go out & offend in!!! 😁

"Only Knickers in the Coop" sounds like it should be the title of this year's novelty entry from Azerbaijan in the Eurovision!

While shopping today, I saw a young girl wearing a skirt ( if it can be called that!) half way up her backside, and a thong, her bare butt jiggling as she walked and it looked obscene! The two old gents sitting beside me said fxxxxxg hell! There is no way this girl didn’t know what was on display .

I work with a young woman who showed up for her interview in a bra (it was a bra-it had the lace and hooks) and pants (honest to god,my pants are bigger)

Her arse cheeks and side boob where on display

She got the job because of who her mum is but my colleague (female) asked me why her mum didnt think to have a word about wearing just her undies was not a good idea (and again why her mum sat in with her for the interview-i know both are none of my business but it was odd)

Not a clue-I would have had words if it had been my dd (I have two but neither walk round in just undies)

Shes a lovely girl with a cracking figure (that id kill to have) but a job interview isnt the right time to wear just your underwear

Nobody apart from my colleague and I thought it was odd

Maybe im just old

Hope it wasn’t the girl whose mum bragged she had fixed it for her daughter to get a job where she worked, in the thread “ what’s the worst thing you’ve ever done ! “

Haha
No,different women-the job we all have isnt that good!
I did read that with my mouth open-I couldn't believe the pride in the tone that she'd cheated someone worthy out of a job
