Both the parents outside with the kids, several kids running around screaming at 6.30am. Do people have no shame?

What?

Yep…if that’s the rod you’ve made for your back then you deliver

I would add I’ve never allowed my kids to screech in the garden or make loud noise but egg hunts took place

Purplecatshopaholic · 05/04/2026 08:20

Doing anything loudly at half six on a Sunday is just selfish. I’m sure even Jesus would agree the kids can wait until a bit later for their chocolate!

Caspianberg · 05/04/2026 08:20

Why do people keep saying kids screaming?
Maybe we have weird kids, but we live overseas and I don’t think any kids here scream? Unless like injured?

Theres no screaming or shouting from gardens in summer or school playgrounds or actual parks at any time tbh. Just regular volume.

Kids have screamed for as long as I can remember. You can hear the school playground from streets away.

Trust me I hear kids screaming sometimes. Proper screaming. And parents not discouraging it.

What?! It was hilarious. Nearly spat my coffee out.

Ha ha! There’s a primary school at the end of my street so hear them regularly but am used to it by now.

Wingingit73 · 05/04/2026 08:23

Inconsiderate. They've probably been up for hours and llost track. I remember those days

Megifer · 05/04/2026 08:23

iamtryingtobecivil · 05/04/2026 08:15

But if that’s what time your kids wake up and look to see if the Easter Bunny has been then that’s the time

And you use your parent words and say "not now it's too early, let's pop Watership Down on then we'll all be in the mood for some egg hunt fun after that"

RaininSummer · 05/04/2026 08:23

Selfish sods. I would have been furious to be woken like that at that time . What is wrong with people these days?

Caspianberg · 05/04/2026 08:24

@purpleroses2 - that’s what I’m saying, is this a British thing more? I’m sure we were loud also as kids in Uk. But were we live now it doesn’t happen. I often walk past the school and nursery and there can be 70-100 kids outside and it’s pretty quiet. Kids never shout to a friend for example, they would walk across grass onto them then talk, not shout from distance

oustedbymymate · 05/04/2026 08:25

@ChefsKisser hahahaahah

😂

I don’t let my DC out in the garden till 10 on a weekend. 6.30 is ludicrous.

Exactly. Mine don't really have a concept of today being full of chocolate and no Easter Bunny. But if they had woken up at 6.30 and wanted to run outside they'd have been told they could wait or they could do it like ninjas. No shrieking.

MyDeftDuck · 05/04/2026 08:28

We don’t get the early morning screaming …….more a matter of parents scrapping because “little Jonny has collected more eggs than little Matilda and it was little Matilda’s grandma’s brother’s gardener’s mate with the three legged dog from the local pub that supplied all the Easter treats and little Matilda should get more than anyone else”!
That was very entertaining to witness. Not sure there’s an Easter egg hunt this year……..🤔

Floralibra · 05/04/2026 08:29

Agree it’s really rude, unfortunately a lot of people in today’s world are overly entitled and give zero cares about others!

Watership Down traumatised me!

The sodding Easter Bunny can come while the children are doing something else in the morning.
We have our hunt after lunch and always did growing up.
Parent the kids, don’t just shrug and say that’s what kids do.

I think it was ironic humour. And quite funny really

Watership Down traumatised me!

I presumed that was tongue in cheek. It’s not a film for young children.

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/04/2026 08:34

Yes that’s too early - in considerate waking neighbour's up at that time

after 9 if not 10 on a Sunday and bak holiday

Steeleydan · 05/04/2026 08:34

AliceAbsolum · 05/04/2026 06:54

But it will have risked waking up like 15 people on a Sunday? How is that fine?

I'd of had to shout something out the window like keep the noise down. How absolutely entitled to have kids out in the street shouting at the time on a Sunday morning

sittingonabeach · 05/04/2026 08:36

@iamtryingtobecivil you just tell them that the Easter bunny hasn’t been yet. You don’t hype them up about it. You be a parent.
