Will i lose my leg

i’ve had a bit of a fall down couple of steps. It’s literally gone all black round my ankle.

Can't see any photos but I would go and get it x rayed.

People don't tend to lose their legs when they fall down steps, no.

What did the hospital say?

Go to A&E

Put it up and ice it. You should probably go and get it xrayed as there may be a break (I did exactly the same a few months ago and fractured a bone)

Yes. Every time anyone twists their ankle it's off with the whole leg. Standard medical practice I'm afraid.

If you think it's that badly injured you need proper medical care, not advice from random mumsnetters. Get to a&e or minor injuries.

Sounds like bruising? You might have damaged ligaments or fractured something….can you walk?

lol…. I did try send pics. I’ve literally gotten blackness all round my ankle. I had a friend lost her leg with this. I can walk but not very far. I am in Canary Islands and not home. I have insurance but i’d have to walk to get to doctor. I will try send pics again.

It’s just that its getting worse and blacker.

No point sending pictures. No one has x-ray vision. Get medical help. Especially as you can't fly with a broken bone.

I had a sprained ankle which went all black with bruising.

Go and see a doctor. Get a cab.

I will hobble over to the medical centre tomorrow. Thank god for insurance.
