So my neighbour pees in his garden everyday instead of using his toilet his garden is right Infront of our front door I walked out at 8 in the morning to take my 7year old daughter to breakfast club and got a full view of his penis in his hand because he has gaps in his fence I did kick off on him and let him know my daughter was with me and he did nothing proceeded to carry on peeing so I've reported him to the council and they aren't doing anything about it he's also been reported to the police who still haven't done anything this was October it's now February I've been told by police I need proof but if I was to get a video or picture of him then I am at risk of going on the sex offenders register

Put up some screening / bamboo on your side of the fence?

Or maybe get this issue sorted because it's very likely she's not the only neighbour that can see him.

Quite common in rural France.

We went to a friend's house in France and as it was a large group of people the men were asked to pee on the compost heap as the septic tank toilet couldn't cope with large volumes.
I encouraged my boys to use a tree when they were small and playing in the garden then use the kitchen for hand washing and not being up and downstairs

But it's not rural France with a big garden and a septic tank, he's not a small boy, surely all the people comjbv uo with the fix and normal posts can read what tge OP has said, small garden in view of her child

JHound · 26/02/2026 11:36

Why?! Why on earth would anybody be so gross? Have you missed the part where you meant to write your neighbour is actually a 'dog'?

It's long been a thing to "wee on the roses" and I have also read that the manly human pheromones can scare off cats, rats and foxes.

My husband pees in the garden sometimes because we only have one bathroom and if someone else is in the shower for a long time, he often can't hold his wee due to a prostate problem. I don't think it's that dreadful, is it?

I don't think it's awful either. I think it's a lot of fuss about nothing.

But I do think social housing regs might have something to cover (haha!) it in their terms and conditions of residency.

As a female I would find it pretty intimidating to see a male neighbour peeing in his garden - and as I said elsewhere on the thread my council wouldn't allow this to continue

Moonlightdust · 26/02/2026 12:10

Who are in the 10% thinking the OP is being unreasonable.. sheesh

And I've noted the possible legal infringement in my comment.

As for being intimidated by someone's nudity in his own garden, I feel you're hyperbolising. If he owned his house, he would be completely within the law.

I don’t understand why you don’t just close the gap in your fence. That would seem the easiest solution. Even if it needs a whole new fence panel it won’t be that expensive.

Reading the OP’s description it sounds like when she walks out her front door opposite is this man’s garden which has fence running all around it with gaps in. She explains it’s council housing and all the fences have gaps in. I don’t think it’s bordering her house but her view when she exits her front door can visibly see him standing on his back door step peeing into the garden. There are lots of kids playing in the vicinity who could quite clearly see too. He made no attempt to turn away when confronted. He is clearly doing this on purpose and needs reporting.

Not necessarily in Scotland as I explained earlier in the thread. It could be seen as breach of the peace, very much depends on the intent - this man doesn't seem to own his own home from the sounds of it. I don't think I'm hyperbolising but thanks for saying so anyway. I wouldn't feel comfortable if my neighbour was doing something like this - and I have the right to express that - you can disagree if you like

wishingonastar101 · 26/02/2026 12:46

You need to report him for exposing himself to you and your child. Report every time.
Get a camera which records in your garden - position it so it shows what you can see through the fence.

Alwaysontherun · 26/02/2026 15:24

Go to your local MP or a local councillor and get them involved as they will push the council into taking action and more than likely the police too

INX · 22/02/2026 01:04

As gross as he is, what crime is he committing by peeing in his own garden?

He’s not deliberately exposing himself to anyone not looking through his fence and it’s not sexual either.

I wonder...

How busy is the road?

And he's disgusting. Is it into a flower bed? Can it run into the OP's garden?

Nanny0gg · 26/02/2026 15:32

Being naked in your own garden is not inherently illegal in the UK, but it can become an offence under Sexual Offences Act 2003 s66 if done with the intention to cause distress or alarm to others. While you have a right to privacy on your property, if you are visible to neighbours or passers-by, you risk police action for indecent exposure or public order offences.

Can be breach of the peace too if you are in Scotland

Robogob · 26/02/2026 15:48

Contact your local councillors and ask them to pick up with Housing.

OneKhakiFish · 26/02/2026 16:06

I would put a fence up in front of his or something that blocks people from seeing what he's doing or move if that doesn't solve the problem

BePinkKoala · 06/03/2026 11:57

Yeah no that's not why he's doing it he's a dirty druggry and has no flowers in the garden only trash
