To think there needs to be a points strategy for voting.

As we are all aware, there are some seriously concerning political views held by some of the nation.

In a bid to make sure that the vote is done fairly, and more substantiated by people with the intelligence to vote properly - I think it should be along the lines of this.

2 votings points to those who have completed university or a degree.
1 voting point to those who have completed GCSE of 3 C’s and above.
0.5 voting point to those with anything less than that.
0.25 voting point to members of society who have been convicted previously.

What about you cant vote if you watch love Island or I’m A Celeb or maybe Strictly 😂

First season love island I was in a private FB group to discuss as we watched which contained 2 people who are now MP's,3 people who are now in HoL, and about another 8 who have at one point stood for election to a parliament

What if someone has been given an honorary degree?

Then they must be honored and therefore a 2 point voter.

I think you'll find that it's a thread anyone can comment on, whether you like it or not.

I don’t really tolerate sarcasm on my threads. FYI.

I suspect that you are not actually in earnest, just one of the cheeky scamps, with an abundence of time on their hands, who crop up on here with their silly provocative threads hoping to stir up some indignation. Attempting to respond to you with anything but sarcasm or humour would therefore be a complete waste of time and would only encourage your attention seeking ways.

Are voting points deducted if you can’t spell?
perhaps OP could clarify.

Quick to poo-poo the thread but slow to suggest your own thoughts and better ideas?

One person, one vote. That's my thought and not trying to shut down votes from people whose political preferences don't align with yours

Winston Churchill's objection to votes for women was because in his view, women would just vote for whomever their husband or father told them to vote for. Ergo, it wasn't a vote for women, but 2 votes for men.Your idea is just as offensive and archaic

delightedforsure · 29/01/2026 16:55

Personally I thought the Brexit vote should have been weighted somehow… over 75 vote doesn’t count as much type thing as they’ll be dead soon and won’t have to suffer the consequences like the young people who can’t even vote yet would… but ultimately we can’t discriminate like that.

Your points system is ridiculous.

This thread amply proves that having uni degrees doesn’t mean one is intelligent, thoughtful or has common sense.

Also, you can t claim to work for the emancipation of the masses and think of taking their right to vote at the same time, one needs to give.

The utter idiocy.

I think you’ll find it’s my thread.

I think you'll find that without other people's contributions you'd be quite lonely on YOUR thread. Although your desire to control shouldn't be surprising given your authoritarian inclinations.

Probably a good idea to leave and crack on with your homework. You’ll never achieve those two voting points without a university education.

BlackCatDiscoClub · 29/01/2026 16:57

-10 votes for people who start threads then say they cant be bothered when they realise they were in a minority

I refuse to believe this is real.
Been funny in parts though😂

StarofWonderStarofLight · 29/01/2026 16:59

I just think given the fact that the majority of you have failed to read my opening post correctly it’s futile to argue with you.

I never said to dictate which party is voted for, just that I have seen some simply voting because that’s who family/friends vote for. That is a poor use of a vote.

Oh, how sweet. You believe that people with a degree are more intelligent than people without, and that intelligence means you'll make better common sense decisions about how to vote.

Even worse is when voters vote, only, to preserve their family and friend's wealth and power. It then gets worse when people such as the House Of Lords, then vote so abuses can be covered up.

Your original post contains nothing about people voting the same way as family and friends. You seem to be struggling with understanding your own posts.
