To think there needs to be a points strategy for voting.

As we are all aware, there are some seriously concerning political views held by some of the nation.

In a bid to make sure that the vote is done fairly, and more substantiated by people with the intelligence to vote properly - I think it should be along the lines of this.

2 votings points to those who have completed university or a degree.
1 voting point to those who have completed GCSE of 3 C’s and above.
0.5 voting point to those with anything less than that.
0.25 voting point to members of society who have been convicted previously.

This is a thread posing an absurd idea rooted in personal prejudice. I'm just getting into the spirit of things.

Fair enough. What bothers me is there seem to be very vocal, and IMO extremism views on both sides of the political spectrum that seem to have no grounding in facts or truth. We have always had these idiots but there seem to be more of them then ever and it is worrying and social media is amplifying them. I’m not sure why the answer is though and our system is still better than most

I posted earlier in seriousness about what I think would help. Politics as a core part of the curriculum, and making it illegal for politicians to misrepresent, make false promises and renage on their manifestos. If people were given access to reliable information and could trust the sources, and had the educational foundation to make sense of it, there would be less opportunity for extremists to influence.

So you think someone with a degree in creative writing should have more votes than an electrician?

Stay at home moms should have fewer votes than someone who manages a fast food places with a degree in marketing?

I don't think you have thought this through

Wolfinmamma · 29/01/2026 23:59

Age discrimination, meaning in older generations fewer people had degrees, particularly women.

I think age should be weighted towards the youths, they have to live with the long term impact & there is less of them!

People who don't know how and when to use less and fewer, and is and are, should only get 0.25 of a vote.

Where does anyone state having a baby gives higher voting privilege exactly??

@Hangerbout at 3:15pm yesterday

I kinda see OP’s point about, er, points.
If it were me, I would allocate a x2 extra vote multiplier to parents and taxpayers, to give these voters more weighting in the system.
