she’s being made to sell their home and work, taking jobs she wouldn’t normally, and being away from her kids?

I know some of you are gonna be like ‘poor little rich girl’ 😂😂😂 but honestly, what kind of man is this?? Feel for her a little (from my own, much lower, tax bracket)

A Coronation Street actress married to a Bristol Rovers player? Hardly a a 'rich girl'? surely? Just a soap star married to a minor league football player?

newmenewwhatever · 23/01/2026 20:06

She is not being made to do anything!
the owner of the house wants to sell it and wants her to downsize.
she also needs money to live so has to work.
not sure how else she would get money !

I agree, they aren’t that rich and understand that that house would’ve been expensive

but she wasn’t working when she had the kids, iirc, she was a housewife? I think she should be able to continue that life, this man is shite

also, didn’t know he wasn’t a prem league player

She used to live round this way when he played for Celtic. Saw her a few times with her kids, seemed a nice enough lass.

Pancakeflipper · 23/01/2026 20:09

Plenty of actors take on work outside of acting to keep.paying their rent/ mortgage.

He has a career as precarious as hers.

It's life, she needs to crack on. She's had good times. She might have good times again but needs to stop playing the victim.

Why should she be allowed to be a housewife and not expected to work though? Every other woman who divorces or separates is expected to work and therefore so should she!!

What’s with this mentality that ‘I suffer so so must she’ ??

presumably she had kids on the proviso that she’d be a sahm - he sounds terrible making her work and be away from the kids, whilst also missing kids events!

To be fair, he used to play for Man City and Celtic, so wasn’t always a lower league player.

momager22 · 23/01/2026 20:18

Poor woman having to work 🙄 thoughts and prayers etc etc

tedibear · 23/01/2026 20:18

I do feel a little sorry for her. I also think she was so foolish not to ensure she had a ring on it before having kids especially 3!
He may play for a minor league team now but just a few yrs ago he was on probably about £40k a week at Celtic and played in premier league before that. He must be delighted he didn’t marry her and she must be gutted!

Not having to work is a privilege and isn’t something that is a life long guarantee no matter how it comes about.

Why would anyone think they could continue to live in a house owned by their ex fiancé, and be financially supported by them to the extent they didn’t have to work?

This is why I’d never be a SAHM if I wasn’t married before having children.

cadburyegg · 23/01/2026 20:21

Depends tbh.

I’m divorced and I can’t stand the victim mentality some women have. Unless there are very specific circumstances t’s just not realistic to expect to not work as a single parent. She needs to be working. She can’t expect to live in the same house permanently unless she has the financial means to buy him out.

But the ex should be financially supporting the children and enabling them to have a reasonable quality of life.

Stuckstuckstuckfuck · 23/01/2026 20:21

I mean 2 parents who cant act like grown ups and speak to each other is never good for the kids is it?

Any man who doesnt look after his kids is a dickhead but she doesnt say that is the case.

He's not kicking them out on the streets but he's a dickhead for thinking he can buy her a house and never have to pay anything again though.

Equally, she needs to understand that 6 beds is a large house.

Fluffyholeysocks · 23/01/2026 20:22

He used to play for a premier league club....he doesn't any more. They aren't married? Choices...... consequences?

YourKhakiViper · 23/01/2026 20:24

She was a SAHM while they were together but things have changed. They’ve separated and he is no longer willing to support her so she will have to return to work. At least she already has an established career so it won’t be too difficult.

Statsquestion2 · 23/01/2026 20:31

DaisyChain505 · 23/01/2026 20:19

Pretty much what I was going to say tbh! Things change! It’s not about having her suffer…lots of women work married, divorced or otherwise. Shes not special.

rainbowsandraspberrygin · 23/01/2026 20:36

I’m not sure what the issue is really. Women work. That’s normal. It’s a bit outdated to think the man should pay for her keep??

I think it’s awful they seem to talk via SM too. The fact they communicate via her dad and on SM isn’t very adult is it.

Neveranynamesleft · 23/01/2026 20:36

She will just have to put some clothes on and go to work to pay her bills to support her family like everyone else does.

Letmeloveyou · 23/01/2026 20:38

Her kids go to school so surely she can work like everyone else has to ffs. She’s no one special.

mumofoneAloneandwell · 23/01/2026 20:38

I think that if your man is richer than you, or has the potential to be: marry him before having kids

if he’s a brokie, don’t marry him 😂
