Apparently she lives in a 6 bed house. If she could afford to buy it presumably she would. I also assume that he pays for the children, that does not mean that he has to pay for her too. She doesn't need a 6 bed, she could live quite well in a 4 bed which is what lots of people do. I don't see the issue.
