So the EU threatened to start dumping U.S Treasuries, Sweden actually did start dumping I believe, and now the U.S and Japan are "co-ordinating" to bring stability to the Japanese bond market/currency? And not a peep more about Greenland over the last few days? LOL. Just shows that the power is the bond market and the weakness is the amount of debt your citizens are carrying.

he is now blistering back threatening retaliation if europe dump American investments.
He must need a spreadsheet to keep track of all the peoples, groups and nations he is intent on punishing. There can't be enough hours in the day to keep on top.of it all.

Tinytimmy123 · 27/01/2026 11:06

Every time I see this i immediately think this is what he is like on the loo if he is constipated. 🤮

Bring it on, LOL, I was hoping tariffs would have crashed stocks by now so I could pile in again, Lord knows what "retaliation" is coming this time but it looks like SK are getting "tariffed" now, they don"t heavily influence global bond markets though so it might be OK, what did they do to offend again?

KeepPumping · 27/01/2026 15:09

Bloomberg running with the narrative today that Japan bond yields pushing well through 3% doesn"t really matter any more, not like it once would have, new normal? We shall see.

He is starting to be defined by threats and then U-Turns, that is not a good look considering the mandate he had, IMO he should stick to sensible sized tariffs to create benefit for U.S workers, stop trying to be deal maker to the world and act All Powerful, if countries round the globe start dumping U.S Treasuries as an act of spite he will have a right mess on his hands, and so will UK debt holders as rates get forced up.

well to be fair we already have a big mess.
And there is zero chance of him doing anything sensible any time soon. Badically he thinks he is dome kind of super hero in a Marvel.movie.
He is now looking likely to start another conflict with Iran . Hope Nato tell him to crack.on without them after his recent comments.

err no. dont think so though he could have done in the last 5 minutes.
Let's face it he can't even remember who he has threatened from one minute to the next.

I see Carney ( "a person who works at a carnival, often involved in operating rides or games. The term can also imply deceptive or manipulative behavior, similar to a con artist") is being held up as some sort of hero on another Davos thread? LOL, all he did in Canada and the UK was try to get interest rates down and blow massive property bubbles for his globalist banker masters? The Game was cheap (to start) securitised long term debt - You have to Play to Win! - but we know who won, and it wasn"t the ordinary public.

You are seriously trying to smear someone because of their surname? Don't you realise how pathetic that is?

Bloozie · 28/01/2026 23:36

If you rearrange the letters in Mark Carney's name, you get Chemtrails.

Mind. Blown.

EstoyRobandoSuCasa · 28/01/2026 23:46

When my DD was five, she found Putin's name hilarious. "Pu-tin, ha ha! He's a tin of poo!"

No, the surname is an unfortunate or funny, depending on your point of view, addition to their behaviour, it is behaviour designed to benefit globalism and big banks not ordinary people.

The Canadians get to pick their own leader and seem happy enough at the minute with him.

I think many US citizens are unaware that Trump has a regional meaning in British English - my area had different words so wasn't aware of it till spent time round IL and young kids where it's considered a politer way to reference the bodily function- Trump means flatulence in some parts of UK.

I've seen vox pops with US citizen think of trump heralding success like trumpets - and is seen as improvement on orginal Drumpf surname.

Yes, he was democratically elected, same as Trump.

So Microsoft down the most since March 2020 and Gold down 5% today as well, what is happening Davos watchers?

See, I’m not convinced Trump was. There’s lots of talk about the tech bros, especially Musk admitting to tampering with the result - quite apart from: the well documented bribes Musk paid to voters

I never said Trump wasn't democratically elected

After his first term he lost to Biden and seems to be implicated in a refusal to do a peaceful transition of power - but he won the last election.

I think that why so many not in US have an issue - he's twice been elected - this is a pattern showing the problems are wider than one man.
