Not a lot to spend it on on Greeland. Citizens in Greenland would have to pay education, health care and most likely after the money run out no state benefits. Denmark won't continue to pay.

Many Greenlanders are not well educated and not used to life outside rural Greenland. They will have a hard time to settle if they move to the USA. They will have a very hard time supporting themselves in the USA for example.

With a million pounds I could get healthcare, something which is very poor in my area. I would, we do what we want in this area anyway.

Miami? I don’t know a lot about Inuit but I know that Miami won’t sound like home to many people from the arctic.

I read an amazing book about the forced relocation of Inuit in Canada. It spoke about how land is incredibly important in the north. How knowing the seas and geography and weather are vital. They couldn’t even be relocated to other areas of the arctic without losing culture and a sense of self.

The Greenlanders often have difficulty managing lives outside Greenland. They are a hunter-gatherer people many of whom are not educated to live and work in USA.

I can see why some people would take the money. But I need home, safety, freedom and to stick it to Trump more than I need a million. If I had to feed DD and couldn’t, I’d take it.

It would end up becoming a form of modern slavery imo. That cash would buy their souls, they’d have to do everything they were told as Trump gave them whatever. It would all anyway need to be used on healthcare and other US stuff - and top ups required. They’d be paying back in different ways forever.
And I can’t believe anyone would seriously do this - no such thing as a free lunch usually but you can be totally, bigly, sure you’d get well shafted on this - as everyone does who thinks trump is giving them a fair deal.
