I don't know if my mum rage is out of control but I went to Asda pizza counter and they were closing so I was told as soon as I joined the queue of 2 people that they were shut. They don't display time and the lights were on, so I was a bit annoyed.

I went to look at the premade pizzas, very annoyed but I didn't say anything to the lady. She then asked how many pizzas I wanted, I reminded her she was shut so why does it matter.

Aibu - either shut and be shut, or serve people?

To be honest your lack of understanding of your behaviour makes you sound a bit thick. So many people have told you you are wrong and why.

She said they were shut because they were shut. She then saw you looking at alternatives and probably thought “ah sod it, if she only wants one or two I’ll just do it”

Jeez, yet another person asking for opinions to then argue that any opinions that don’t align perfectly with their own are invalid. The lady probably realised she had enough time to serve you before closing and just assumed that you’d realise that and appreciate it without her having to spell it out, you were the one who was rude here.

You need the patience of a saint to work in retail, I couldn't do it. Some members of the public such as the OP seem to think they can treat staff like servants there to wait on them hand and foot.

If you hadn't been so rude you might have got the pizza you wanted. She was closed but then thought I'll be nice and make a pizza if I can. You know full well why she asked you just wanted an excuse to be a twat.
The only other reason she would have asked is because you've complained before and she didn't want you to complain again.

Why? Just why would you be so nasty about a woman who has been on her feet for X hrs and is probably late shutting down her counter that she has to thoroughly clean & put everything away, labelling it before she can clock off and go home.

I feel sorry for anyone who works in retail these days. When I did it 20-odd years ago you’d get the odd unpleasant person but now a huge proportion of customers are rude and entitled like OP and seem to think the whole world revolves around them and their needs, and anyone who doesn’t instantly give them exactly what they want is somehow at fault and deserving of a raging tantrum.
