I can’t see anything that gives a clear reason.

Never mind. She can go to his next one.

Nah, she'll be just as much of a melter next time.😆😆😆

The mother, aunt, brother and grandmother have behaved appallingly and have turned this wedding into a media farce through social media posts and a constant drip to the Daily Mail. If they were my family I’d be furious.

The mother has always liked to court the local media. She was all over it a few months ago with faux outrage and CCTV of some kids taken a union flag off a lamppost by her house.

Incidentally this poverty/working class narrative is also being somewhat overplayed. They just live in a normal family semi on the outskirts of rural Uttoxeter - it’s very far from a hotbed of deprivation and poverty.

The Peatys should have done their home work, the Ramseys cut out Tanias father because he took financial advantage of Gordon nearly 2 decades ago. They will happily do the same with anyone not singing from the same hym book.
Peatys mother was used to running her show, but that's like comparing a family talent show in nans living room to a 3 movie deal from paramount.

He stole from them and was jailed - a little more than ‘not singing from the same hymn book’!!

Meant the great aunt, rather than the grandmother. Don’t think granny has joined in on the public circus yet.

He didnt leave her. They had already split long before.

Nobody ever confirmed but suspect so from
the statement he put out following the split. He said something about letting her down.

Also, to PP who suggested he had been single for a long time before meeting Holly- it was less than a year.

I said, in response to someone who claimed that he had ditched his ex for a celebrity lifestyle, that they had separated some time before he started seeing Holly Ramsay. In other words, he didn't end his prior relationship to take up with his now wife. Which you have just confirmed, so thanks for that. Although your suggestion that being single for "less than a year" before starting a new relationship is not acceptable is just plain weird.

Even when he won his gold medals that relationship looked like it was hanging by a string. He looked like he'd checked out. ' less than a year' is fine to get into a new relationship. Its not cheating!

The Christianity angle is interesting. What happened to ‘honour thy father and thy mother’? It’s one of the main tenets of the religion.

It seems to be more so that some mums can't handle the transition to no longer being the most important person in their sons lives.
Some women will put up with the nastiness that stems from those types of MILs for the sake of keeping the peace, but others won't tolerate it, or will get to a point where its gone on too long.

It seems to me to be equal.
You get women who are possessive and jealous, controlling, demanding and nitpicking with zero tolerance for other women. When they are young they are the DiL from hell making their husband's mums life a misery. Then when they are older they are the MiL from hell doing the same to their sons wife.
Ironically some men choose wives that are similar to their mothers so then you get a perfect storm with two peas in a pod both acting up and blaming the other.
Fortunately I think there are more decent women than these types. We just don't get to hear about them.

‘Do not provoke your children to anger’.

‘Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.’

To answer your question though, presumably he didn’t interpret honor to mean ‘take whatever shit they want to dump on you’.

Caroline basically can’t hold her shit and always wants to stick her nose in.

She basically said as much in one of her interviews that if it was the other way around she would be having stern words with her adult child. She’s used to getting her own way with Adam and someone’s said no so she cried to the press.

She wanted to wear cream to the wedding not happy when told no

She confronted Gordon at the engagement party about her extended family not being invited

she with her sister did the big insta posts and interview about not being invited to the hen

More snide posts and interviews

Brother made threats that got him arrested and held for 2 days of questioning.

She made claims she would just turn up at the wedding anyway but did get talked out of it

Dad was still invited but stood by his wife

Extended family lost their invites in among all the drama

Caroline has also been messaging Tana and not happy she’s got no response

Aunty sent that text on the wedding day and yet also claims they are blocked so only the peatys again could have leaked it as he wouldn’t have seen it.

I wouldn’t be comfortable around them in-laws or actual family.

I expect there will be a honeymoon baby and more stories about how she is so sad at that she won’t get to see baby. While still not realising selling the stories is a huge part of the problem.

@bumptybum

Emotional abuse is actual abuse.

Her behaviour and going to the tabloids is disgraceful and disgusting behaviour as a mother. She may have drove him but he still did the work.

He did the right thing and she only proved that he left her no choice. The moment she went to the tabloids, she showed what really mattered to her was her way and what she wanted, not about her son.

I don't know but Peaty splitting with his partner and the mother of his child to marry into celebrity life leaves a nasty taste in the mouth.

The had already split quite a while prior.
