To ask why exactly is Holly Willoughby so disliked these days?

Flauwa · 02/12/2025 14:37

No I’m not Holly or a member of her pr team.

I just don’t get why HW is so massively disliked these days. She doesn’t appear to have done anything wrong. But her presenting career has obviously taken a huge knock.

HW wasn’t the one messaging underage boys. We have no evidence to suggest she was aware of it. So why has she basically been banished?

Is this another example of women paying for men’s mistakes?

Im on a group chat and a nasty-ish comment was made about Holly and I just don’t get why.

So she would be more popular if she stood by a sexual predator?

I think she’d be more popular if she’d stood up earlier and said it was wrong. Not looked the other way until she had no choice.

so that along with all the rumours about what a horrible person she is from people who have come across her.

EvangelicalAboutButteredToast · 02/12/2025 16:46

It’s what happens when you’re everywhere for so long I think. Her association with Phillip Schofield didn’t help, but I think people had had enough a while before that.

sciaticafanatica · 02/12/2025 16:48

She will be fine. I’m sure her husband will get her a presenting job.

IAmKerplunk · 02/12/2025 16:50

Urgh that whole thing when Phil and Holly hugged on the sofa the day he came out as gay was so clearly rehearsed and rehearsed again. It was painful to watch. As was the ‘Are you ok?’

I never minded HW but I agree with a pp that as she has matured I think she was ready to move on and out of PS shadow - a combination of things happened that enabled her to do that but she’s not really done anything hugely successful (in front of the camera) since then. I really hope she doesn’t do Strictly - that would be a lazy option I think.

It was amusing when she reported her car being stolen only to realise it was at her husbands office 🤣

Arlanymor · 02/12/2025 16:51

@AtIusvue She has been unable to make the transition to mature tv presenter. I think with this conviction for dangerous driving and seriously injuring someone, I’m not sure if she will be able to make it back to TV.

I'm not so sure about that, tellyland is so fickle. I reckon she's already having interviews for Strictly... it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

SchrodingersKoala · 02/12/2025 16:53

I've always found her irritating, I saw through the whole nauseating act, giggling at absolutely nothing, pretending to be creased laughing constantly act, and that stupid put on squeaky voice, give it a rest. She'd be perfect on one of those ceebeebies programs aimed at 2 year olds, that act would work well.

Nothing against the woman personally, her presenting style just isn't something I enjoy. She's made a lot of money out of it though so I'm sure she gives 0 shits that some people don't enjoy the programs she's on. As long as she doesn't get the strictly job I'm not bothered 🤣, please no!!

Tessisme · 02/12/2025 16:56

I don’t really have much of an opinion on her, but her faux concern for the poor viewers in the wake of the Phillip Scofield scandal was excruciating to watch. It came up on my Facebook reels and I cringed from the inside out.

Thanks for this, it sums up everything I think but saves me the trouble of having to write it out 🤣.

Are you ok, OP?

But I doubt she’s the one who wrote that. Probably came from a producer

It’s when she asked the public how they were doing after the Philip business - hilariously self important. I don’t watch her tv show but gosh I saw that clip and couldn’t believe it. So strange. And she cut off from her good friend and shunned him when he was at his lowest. It seemed like she was only interested in herself. And her image.

PodMom · 02/12/2025 17:02

She’s the modern day version of Anthea Turner. Only took one misjudged Hello shoot and she was toast.

hamstersarse · 02/12/2025 17:03

I'd have thought it was because she is intensely boring and not exactly exceptional at presenting and was essentially employed to be pretty and that has now faded a bit.
It's generally what happens to women when they reach a certain age if they don't develop their actual personality and skills

Lookingforthejoy · 02/12/2025 15:06

Is she disliked? By who?

Didn’t she push into the queue at the Queen’s funeral. Other than that I don’t know much about her.

I was going to say this is the only negative thing I've heard about her!

InSpainTheRain · 02/12/2025 17:10

Catpiece · 02/12/2025 15:31

Schofield. Queuegate.

And the poor scooter rider with the broken neck.

Charlize43 · 02/12/2025 17:10

Has she jumped another queue again?

She comes across as very entitled.

Does this have anything to do with breaking someone neck?

Pollqueen · 02/12/2025 17:10

Didn't she break someone's neck? Plus, i suppose she's tainted by the PS association. Who knows? 🤷‍♀️

Pollqueen · 02/12/2025 17:11

Plus, she wasn't a whole ball of talent in the first place

WinterBerry40 · 02/12/2025 17:11

If you look on today's Daily Mail site ( I know ! ) you will see a report of where she drove her mini and hit a man on a scooter and broke his neck !
A recent court case ( which she didn't attend ) gave her a fine and six penalty points .

ComfortFoodCafe · 02/12/2025 17:13

She knew that Schofield was noncey and kept it to herself. Thats why many people dislike her… also broke a mans neck. She doesn’t deserve a second of anyones time. Shes vile.

It was either entirely false, or she is so self-important that she genuinely thought people were going to be deeply upset by a change of presenters on their morning television show. Neither of those puts her in a very good light.

LemonDrizzleKay · 02/12/2025 17:20

Some people worship celebrities while others resent them and absolutely love it when they Fall. Especially if they're blonde and considered cute.

HW demonstrates the dark side of celebrity. A man was jailed for life for plotting to rape and murder her. That's terrible.

GumFossil · 02/12/2025 17:21

I think the whole thing with Phil has damaged her reputation and her TV career is now on a downward trajectory.

The fact that she swore undying devotion to him in his coming out interview and then dropped him, didn’t help. The queue thing (which I thought was daft, I mean did anyone care?) was another nail in this coffin. Then the awful speech she made on This Morning (all in white) made many think she’s just a phoney.

Like him or loathe him, Phil was an excellent TV presenter and he carried her because they had good chemistry. She could not have handled a face paced live magazine show without him doing the heavy lifting.

Now we hear she has been prosecuted for careless driving and causing someone injuries, her golden girl reputation is damaged further.

pilates · 02/12/2025 17:21

I agree with pp, wouldn’t be surprised if she isn’t lined up for Strictly presenter. She is pretty but comes across quite fake.

Poodlelove · 02/12/2025 17:23

I think incident with a very dangerous stalker scared her and rightly so.

Blueskies77 · 02/12/2025 17:23

I was fed up of hearing and seeing her ‘everywhere’. It felt too much. Then there was the queen funeral saga and her co presenter saga and that was it.
