To ask why exactly is Holly Willoughby so disliked these days?

No I’m not Holly or a member of her pr team.

I just don’t get why HW is so massively disliked these days. She doesn’t appear to have done anything wrong. But her presenting career has obviously taken a huge knock.

HW wasn’t the one messaging underage boys. We have no evidence to suggest she was aware of it. So why has she basically been banished?

Is this another example of women paying for men’s mistakes?

Im on a group chat and a nasty-ish comment was made about Holly and I just don’t get why.

The not liking Holly is not new to me. I always used to say her public persona was crafted in a factory somewhere after some juvenile bloke put the settings to ‘saucy but perfect girl next door ideal girlfriend’ The Saturday Morning TV, the giggles with Phil on the sofa, the cheeky Keith Lemon show. The pinnacle of it was that make up free selfie thing she posted - so wholesome, so inviting, sooooooooo contrived. I’m sure she is a very different human to the cartoon version of herself that she played for a decade or more. No wonder she’s out of fashion after it all fell apart and her artifice was obvious. As a fake, she’s got no currency anymore. I’m sure her PR team will be reinventing her soon enough and sending HW 2.0 out there to irritate us all.

I went off her the second she asked a woman who had endured a terrible birth and was left with severe vaginal injuries how her husband was coping not having intimacy..... I was aghast at that. She did the sickly voice and patronising head tilt as she said it. I think the Feminism Chat boards exploded that day.

A driving accident, jumping a queue, and being friends with Phillip Scholfield, who himself hardly committed the crime of the century, does not explain why she has been eradicated from British TV and is now apparently 'dislked' by MN.

I think it's more to do with the build them up, tear them down phiosphy that underpins a lot of opinions on MN and some sectors of the general public.

As soon as something becomes universally popular it starts to become out of favour and criticised.

I know someone who's friends with Amanda Holden she's very nice IRL apparently

She is a regular in my work place and she is HORRIBLE to everyone, not a nice person at all!

I really don’t get the queue thing. They were there in their capacity as broadcasters. Alongside other broadcasters who did exactly the same.

Not sure why anyone would queue 15 hours to walk past an old lady’s coffin in the first place. Weird.

I’ve heard the same. Apparently Amanda’s in on the joke ie she knows exactly what and who she is and doesn’t try to hide it. She was nice to my friend’s cousin who did work experience at her radio station

I think her talent and value is old fashioned, and it’s easier to pick at someone when their star is fading. “National treasure”?! She was a (good) tv presenter. It isn’t that big of a deal in 2025 so the magic is lost. Really noone should be worrying about her at all, like or dislike really

I can’t imagine anything worse. The show is bad enough as it is. I dip in and out. If they were on it that would be it for me.

I would like James and Ola Jordan to be brought back from the wilderness. A husband and wife team could be good.

The queue stuff, the fact she broke somebody’s neck, the schofield stuff. It all piles up. My friend works for ITV and is generally quite positive about most people he meets through the job but apparantly she’s extremely rude

I’ve never hated her but I do dislike her. For me, it’s the faux stupidity. It makes me instantly dislike people.
Especially when they are clearly incredibly calculating.

Just came here to say the same. Ny hairdresser told me that Phil was lovely but she was rude.

A pp just reminded me how much I hated her persona as Holly Willabooby on that idiot Keith Lemon’s show.

I stopped watching this morning when she was on. The squeaking and swearing was insufferable. If I'm at home in the mornings now I watch it. I like Cat Deeley. Much more calm and relaxing.

She just seems smug.
