Overt anti "foreigner" / anti non-white discussions appear to be normalised at times these days. I don't remember this in previous decades. Was it just under the surface ?

It’s what the government want no matter which party is in charge. Because if you have people arguing amongst each other, then you’re not looking at the utter shit show of the government that run the country.

People just don't want mass immigration the way it currently is, I am an immigrant myself in Europe and I know that most countries are rightfully much pickier about who they let over the border to gain residency.
It is neither racist nor insert word phobic to expect some level of scrutiny.
There is also the fact that the U.K is a very small island which is incredibly overcrowded, lets not pretend otherwise! Europe has fare more open spaces between towns and cities.
You need to have hatred in your heart for it to be racism
A mutual friend called me a racist c*nt a few months ago, all because i said the flags looked nice!
Needless to say she went in the bin after that.
The left seem to think its fine to call people names if their views don't align.
Most of these people haven't had their lives directly affected by immigration and sit in their ivory towers bleating away.

How far does this extend? Do you think it’s okay to say ‘I’m going to the p&%# shop’ as long as you don’t have racism in your heart? You can’t use immigration as an excuse to be racist. It’s one thing to express concern about the numbers of immigrants, that’s not racist. But it’s an entirely different thing to think that the excuse of immigration allows white people the right to abuse people of colour.

It was especially apparent during the last government when Rishi Sunak was cynically talking about tackling immigration in quite harsh terms whilst at the same time allowing record numbers of immigrants into the country. So effectively he was allowing immigrants to take the flack for his policy. Will have to see if Shabana Mahmood does the same.

Let us consider just how many posters on forums are legitimate. Let us remove online forums completely and then see how the governing bodies have a reach.

Also important to point out that immigrants in this country can also be racist. An immigrant relative of mine is very racist.
