Gather in for real-time parking wars

A house down the road is having some work done and the workmen have parked their van blocking the access road to 40-odd garages. I nicely asked them to move it this morning so I could get out, which they did without and hassle. I came back and they were there again! On-street parking is a nightmare and there were no other spaces so I've blocked them in. I'm several houses down and am in now until 2-ish. There is technically another exit but it's a right pain to get to, so they can try doing a 100-point turn if they like...

Well if they're blocking access to your garage then blocking them in is fair enough. Did they leave their number on their van to call to get it moved? If not then you can't be expected to waste your time finding them, waiting for them to move etc...

If there is another way out they'll just have to use it.

Garages added! They're at the back of our gardens (not to scale).

I have wine in the fridge and some lovely nibbles from M and S ( other supermarkets are available).

What happens if one of your neighbours wants to access the garages, will they have to ask you as well as the workmen to move your vehicles?

The neighbours WhatsApp group has gotten involved. There is talk of someone moving their car to block the other end.

They haven't done anything wrong as far as I can see? They move when asked. YOU have blocked THEM in.

Why wouldn't you just leave a note in your windscreen with your door number and move when asked instead of carrying on like an arsehole?

What if they need to move for someone to get out of their garage and they don't know which house your car belongs to?

No, they can get in through the gate. There's a gate prefect who wraps it up with locked-looking chains to deter opportunist criminals but it's not actually locked.
