Amazon delivery driver in pub on duty.

More a What would you do than an AIBU.

Currently awaiting an Amazon delivery. It’s important as I need it for my business and need it today so products can be made to send out tomorrow. So I’m anxious for it to arrive.
I have been following the tracking of the van. I’m the next delivery and have been for over 35minutes. The van has not moved in that time and is in a car park outside a pub a couple of miles away. The pub is down a lane with no other properties or buildings down there and the tracking is showing it in the car park.

I’m not going to lie I’m pissed off because I need my parcel urgently and I’m waiting for a delivery man to finish his drink in the pub and actually bother to deliver it.
My question is would you report them to Amazon? I have screenshots of the tracking.

I assume he is allowed a lunch break.
(or rather dinner/tea going by the time of day)

XenoBitch · 06/11/2025 19:30

When I order from Amazon, tracking shows I get a 2 hour window for delivery.
The driver is probably stopping for a pee and a quick lunch. They are allowed to do that.

Who says he’s drinking? I don’t drink alcohol but often go to pubs for a meal.

Cuwins · 06/11/2025 19:31

Surely he is allowed a lunch break?

KilkennyCats · 06/11/2025 19:31

He’ll be on his meal break.

Pub doesn’t sell food. It’s a tiny drinkers pub. Much more convenient places to stop.

Don’t be ridiculous!! He’s allowed a break!!

what are you going to report him to Amazon for? Having appropriate rest breaks so that he isn’t dangerous in the road???

Probably just sat in the car park having his break then

He has been 35 mins so not a quick break. Pub doesn’t serve or sell food. Never has.
Not the type of place you would go for a snack or a coke.

Do you want him to piss into a bottle in his car and leave it on the roadside instead?

He (women are Amazon drivers too), are allowed a break.

blankcanvas3 · 06/11/2025 19:34

God forbid somebody working for pennies to deliver your parcels for you has a break

He is at a well known drinkers pub. It isn’t the type of place you go for a break.

using the loo

pubs request deliveries too!!!

What time does the tracking say your parcel will be delivered?

You sound far too invested in what this driver is doing.... on their break.

TomatoSandwiches · 06/11/2025 19:36

Seriously, stfu and make yourself a cup of tea and then give your head a wobble.

Who do you think you are? 😂

So maybe he’s parked in their car park with his box of sandwiches, planning to use their loo when he’s eaten.
It’s none of your flaming business what he does on his authorised breaks.

Vera87 · 06/11/2025 19:36

I do Amazon delivery and it’s relentless maybe he’s nipped in for a soft drink and toilet stop. Maybe he has a scheduled break that he can do with as he pleases. You will have a delivery window and as long as it’s with you by then what’s the issue? You sound a deeply unpleasant person who will complain and risk someone’s livelihood

OnlyOnAFriday · 06/11/2025 19:37

He can have 35 mins, lunch hour for most people!

you’re not his boss, what time you’d like your parcel is irrelevant. He knows what he has left to do today and can plan his own schedule . Don’t think Amazon promise delivery by a certain time, I get it’s annoying but there’s nothing you can do.

Surroundedbyfools · 06/11/2025 19:37

Maybe you should be more organised and order ur things in advance so you don’t need to be watching every move that some poorly paid delivery driver makes. You don’t own anybody !

Vera87 · 06/11/2025 19:37

Maybe he’s sat in the car park having his break. I do this

ComtesseDeSpair · 06/11/2025 19:37

I’ll hazard a guess that as a delivery driver who drives all over, he isn’t aware that this particular pub isn’t what you consider the type of place he should go for a break and has just stopped at somewhere convenient to use the loo and have a coke and a bag of crisps on his rest break. You’re frustrated, sure, but it isn’t the driver’s fault that your delivery is urgent to you.

PinkKimono · 06/11/2025 19:38

As long as he delivers inside the time window promised, leave him alone. He might have had a delivery at thee pub and stopped for a bit.

This!!! The driver is as entitled to a break as anyone else, and where they choose to spend this break has nothing to do with you!

Don‘y be ridiculous. Reporting a driver for sitting down in a warm pub and having a break? What are Amazon supposed to do, send the Amazon police out to breathalyse him?

MummyNeedsCoffee1 · 06/11/2025 19:38

Have you ever heard of the concept of breaks during a work day? And there are no rules where the break needs to be spent, so what if he doesn’t eat but has a rest and a coffee?
