Has everyone forgotten Jonathan Ross and Sachsgate?

I love traitors but i detest Jonathon Ross. I clearly remember his vile phone calls to Andrew Sachs about his grandaughter. Along with his accomplice Russel Brand - vile, laddish behaviour. How is he even still working? Does he have mates in high places - people's careers have gone under for much less.
Also he makes my skin crawl and is ruining a damn good show.

I would love to be as perfect as most of the posters on here, he made a mistake. Yes it was absolutely awful what he did but it was almost 20 years ago. Some people on here need to get a grip.

I have never forgotten it and agree he his behaviour should have been career ending.

I could never really see the point of him before that disgusting episode but I make sure to never watch anything with him in it since.

I really like him and always have. The only reason I am watching Traitors is because he is in it. I probably would not bother otherwise

Yes. And worse, a whole lot of people have blamed Sachs’ granddaughter for being attention seeking and having orchestrated the whole thing to get herself a career. Utterly shameful, but the narrative persists. It’s never the fault of the sleazy middle aged men, always their young target to blame.

Yes it was an absolute shitty thing to do but come on. The fact that Andrew Sachs then didn't talk to his granddaughter for years over it - that was his own doing. She did nothing wrong, other than make some questionable life choices, but who hasn't done that.

They apologised, there was no real damage done - it wasn't pleasant but worse things have happened. Far far worse.

I just think he's slipped through the net for a long time when other misogynistic behaviour has been called out.
He never really apologised he just realised he had to stop being a dick before he lost his career and that's a very different thing.

Because of when it happened, it was during a time when it still didn't really matter to the powers that be and he was a big name. If it happened now he wouldn't get away with it. Not that he should have got away with it then. Brand's so called comedy routines were way over the line but he was still given jobs ie: Celebrity Bake Off.
