NT have made free tampons available in the gents' toilets in a castle in the Lake District. Not unisex toilets, but actual gents.

Not just any tampons, but vegan tampons (WTF are they?).
And they're also available in the ladies.

YABU They are demonstrating what a kind, caring organisation they are, & covering their arses.

YANBU They are bonkers, tossers... add your own words.

Out of interest, who funds Stonewall, who's behind it (other than the names we know) and why do they have so much power?

If you look at their published accounts they get their funding from government grants (UK, Scottish and Welsh government's and formally the US government (ended by Trump)) and by selling their advice through talks and their diversity index (around £3000+ per organisation per year) and donations.
However that funding is drying up and they've been running at a loss for a while now so hopefully they will go bankrupt soon 🤞

Good question.

Stonewall made a strategic decision to take up the ‘trans’ cause in 2015. Possibly because they had achieved their goals with gay rights and had worked themselves out of a job and possibly because there were already some huge organisations like the Arcus Foundation in the US giving out vast sums of money to promote the trans cause.

In several cases including the Arcus Foundation, the donors are owned by the people who also own medical companies that supply puberty blockers/hormones and surgeries. They have successfully increased the extremely lucrative ‘trans’ market (estimated to be worth over £1 million per medicalised patient).

Famously, the Lib Dem’s have received £1.43 million in donations from a puberty blocker company Ferring Pharmaceuticals and a number of members of the Labour Party have apparently received many smaller donations (thus not itemised on the list) from interested parties. I’m jut sure about the Conservatives but government/quango grants to Stonewall increased enormously during their tenure. And obviously Theresa May and Maria Miller threw women under the bus pushed on with plans for self id.

So the funny thing is, women fighting for our rights are constantly accused of having shady ‘right wing’ funding from billionaires but that is pure projection on their part. The ‘trans’ industry has grown by many biliions over the last few years.

The NT are just a small cog in a very large wheel ultimately promoting harm for profit.

Don’t forget that the previous chair of EHRC when a lot of current guidance was produced, was David Isaac’s who had been the Chair of Stonewall. He was also Chair of lottery funds. A more recent chair of Stonewall, Iain Anderson, had clear links with the Conservative Government but switch (partly apparently in response to them backing up on trans demands) to Labour six months or so before the last election. It seems he has established various backroom connections within the Labour Party; https://www.opendemocracy.net/en/dark-money-investigations/iain-anderson-labour-starmer-h-advisors-cicero-lobbyist-business-conservative/

Then there is Ruth Hunt, who brought T into Stonewall, who now sits in the House of Lords

This sort of wokeness is why they are haemorrhaging members.

Someone at the board meeting heard the phrase "haemorrhaging members" and thought haemorrhage? - tampons is the answer.
