To wonder if Greta will acknowledge her blunder?

Regarding Greta using a photo of emaciated Israeli hostage Evyatar David on a poster/content slide regarding the suffering of Palestinian prisoners.

She & the affiliated have since edited/rectified but seems to be without any acknowledgement or comment from anyone from her or her team… yet.
AIBU to think that’s quite a major gaffe that warrants acknowledgment from her end?

She's never wrong.

flumposie · 08/10/2025 17:03

No. She is vile.

Ponderingwindow · 08/10/2025 17:37

It doesn’t just need an apology. This kind of error exposes a group of engaging in performance activism, not doing real work with real research.

gingercat02 · 08/10/2025 17:37

She's a fucking idiot

Summerhillsquare · 08/10/2025 17:44

I expect she's concentrating on her mission, first of all campaigning for action on climate change, and now also to try and stop a genocide. Thank goodness we have such people in the world, not because they are perfect but because they TRY to make the world a better place. Better to try, make mistakes, fail, try again, than not to care or do nothing.

defrazzled · 08/10/2025 17:56

I feel sorry for her, she's poorly educated and manipulated.

finallygettingit · 08/10/2025 18:04

can anyone link to this, I've heard it mentioned a few times but not seen it as I'm not on FB, X etc

Ponderingwindow · 08/10/2025 18:06

There are people working in refugee camps. There are people who get jobs at the UN. There are people who run for office so they can try to change laws. There are people who study for years so they can dedicate their lives to climate technology or sustainable food. These are people who dedicate their lives to making the world a better place. They often choose this over much more lucrative careers because they want to make an actual difference in the world. It is tedious and often demoralizing. Some of the work is dangerous.

These are the people we should be thanking.

Activists who scream and shout and blunder aren’t doing the hard work.

Cutie101 · 08/10/2025 18:07

She's an absolute idiot and proves to anyone with half a brain cell that she is completely clueless and what she says doesn't stand for anything. The issue is there are other idiots out there also lacking in brain cells who believe her and her causes. Idiot.

Oh bore off.where is her compassion for the hostages still held? Where is her compassion for the person she used a picture off?

Summerhillsquare · 08/10/2025 18:10

Sorry you find activism boring @Vaxtable.

Probably not too boring to claim your share of the spoils though?

Cantspeakwontspeak · 08/10/2025 18:11

what I don’t understand is the switch from the climate to Gaza, I thought global warming was still a problem? Secondly I wondered if someone had set her up because it’s so stupid and really shines a light on the lack of critical thinking

musicforthesoul · 08/10/2025 18:12

Sincerely doubt she will. It doesn't fit her current performance activism to acknowledge that hamas are still holding and starving hostages.

jen337 · 08/10/2025 18:14

The Party informs you that the subject of today’s two minute hate will be Greta Thunberg.

Agreed. She's a puppet and she doesn't even realise she is being used.

My god, you are so naive.

TroutSpout · 08/10/2025 18:38

She and the others involved should apologise, but I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for it.

So spot on. It's a refreshing change after it being trans women for so many months! As you were.

User37482 · 08/10/2025 19:05

It’s actually really awful to delete a picture of a human being suffering because it was the wrong type of human being. I think people just don’t want to see anything that might fuck uo their narrative. Jean Hatchet is fighting the good fight on twitter talking about Gazan women who are being forced to exchange sex for aid from Palestinian men and she’s getting yelled at by pro Palestinians. I mean for ffs rape is just wrong, she is advocating for women in a war zone.

localnotail · 08/10/2025 19:09

The way she goes about her support of Palestinian course is so screwed up, blinkered and idiotic it really damages the climate change course - because it makes you wonder if anything she said/ supported was true.

She used to be thought of as quite heroic, and I did admire her, now I think she is a part of an idiotic rent-a-mob with absolute blinkered tunnel vision. Her refusal to watch the film about the atrocities says it all.

Just to state that I know quite a lot about Palestinian/ Israeli conflict, I know enough not to shout stupid slogans and to understand the complexity and difficulty of this horrendous situation.

ObliviousCoalmine · 08/10/2025 19:11

I‘m sorry I appear to have opened a copy of the Daily Mail by mistake. I’ll see myself out.

Neverbeentothegym · 08/10/2025 19:14

How is she vile?? She is literally putting her life on the line, using her privilege to shine a light on an actual genocide.

Interesting perspective, both your points are so true!

You know it's possible to think two things at once? You can campaign against global warming while being concerned about Gaza and vice versa. The Genocide in Gaza is a very immediate problem.
Some really pathetic people on here crying about other people trying to make the world better.
