Regarding Greta using a photo of emaciated Israeli hostage Evyatar David on a poster/content slide regarding the suffering of Palestinian prisoners.

She & the affiliated have since edited/rectified but seems to be without any acknowledgement or comment from anyone from her or her team… yet.
AIBU to think that’s quite a major gaffe that warrants acknowledgment from her end?

Has everyone forgotten all the Pray For Israel photos plastered across Instagram which were actually showing the ruins of Gaza? I don’t remember many apologies or acknowledgement there.

You ok @Questionairballoon ?
any update re you other thread and LEA taking you to court?

What about the Israeli government lying about no famine in Gaza, Hamas stealing the aid they were blocking or lying about certain beheaded babies? The lies about Hamas hiding under a specific hospital? Hamas are atrocious and yes Greta made a mistake. Lets not act like the Israeli government aren't liars themselves who had denied things that have clearly been proven and agreed on internationally as a genocide and starvation of the Palestinian people, or like they haven't tried to manipulate stories in the media. When they couldn't prove their claims, crickets...

Thank you for signposting your comment with the word ‘what about’ as you are clearly acknowledging your intention to use whataboutery as a smokescreen so as not to discuss the issue the OP has raised. Back turned, fingers in ears, lalala, yes but…

Hamas absolutely have been stealing aid and either keeping it for themselves or selling it back to Gazan citizens. Also they do have a policy of centring operations under schools and hospitals so they can use their own people as human shields.

Personally, I don’t remember ever seeing such ads 🤷‍♀️
Only some showing pictures of Israeli hostages.

It was widely documented with even celebs like Justin Bieber posting the incorrect photos. Jamie Lee Curtis too from what I remember.

Well, widely documented or not, I don’t remember seeing ads picturing ruins in Gaza claiming it’s Israel.
I just googled what exactly Jamie Lee Curtis had said, that’s what I found in one of the sources:

“In the wake of the initial Hamas attack, Curtis took to Instagram to express her support for victims in Israel. The 64-year-old shared an image of terrified children glancing up at missiles shooting through the sky, captioned: "Terror from the skies." (…) However, the children in the image are actually from Gaza. (…) On November 9, Curtis acknowledged the negative response to the post. (…) the Oscar winner apologized for the error, telling the audience: "I am also human and therefore flawed and contradictory.”

So she acknowledged her mistake and apologised. Has Greta apologised yet?

She was 1 person who apologised, that’s all.

not to say that I don’t think Greta should apologise, but it’s not the highest priority in a situation where Israel has yet to apologise for murdering ambulance workers, children and innocent civilians on a daily basis. Not to mention the sexual abuse of detainees that is documented and ignored. You can’t just focus on one aspect.

And yet that’s exactly what you do - focus on one aspect only. The one that supports the narrative you want to tell.

I’ve literally acknowledged both sides - whoever posts incorrect information should correct it.

However, Greta’s mistake should not distract from the actual issue at hand. The genocide that Israel has carried out, televised for the world to witness and for coming generations to ask us about.

stomachamelon · 09/10/2025 23:04

Has Greta popped up yet welcoming the news today? Not many threads about it on here as well (considering)

I don't think I ever saw them in the first place, and it's a stupid mistake that should have been acknowledged by the people who made it.

However, posting the wrong buildings is not comparable to posting the picture of a tortured, starving real person whose family are desperately waiting for him to return home. Claiming his suffering, and then deleting his picture without comment when it turns out that his suffering doesn't support your cause, rather the cause of people who your companion has described as inhuman monsters. His family have seen what Greta did, they deserve an apology or at least some kind of recognition.

In you pp you were talking about “Pray For Israel photos plastered across Instagram ”, not Israel’s actions in Gaza.

lol you can’t ignore the context of the entire situation, if you do then that’s really obtuse and insensitive.

The photos of ‘pray for Israel’ that turned out to be Gaza were also of Palestinian children under missiles etc.

More googling has found a photo of children that Jamie Lee Curtis apologised for and expressed concern and sympathy for all children who are victims of violence.

which is what you would want from Greta, right?

Justin Bieber posted a picture of a building which he then deleted.

And from looking at the stories, there was a massive social media backlash to both of those mistakes.

BoredZelda · 10/10/2025 16:17

Luxio · 08/10/2025 18:18

Agreed. She's a puppet and she doesn't even realise she is being used.

Because she is a young woman? Because she is autistic? What is it you believe makes her so gullible and stupid?

Hugh Bonneville spoke out and that was wrong because he was a silly old grandpa. Greta is young and stupid. Hozier was too musicy. Susan Sarandon is old and famous.

Instead of focusing so much on why certain people shouldn’t be raising these issues, how about we focus what they are actually saying.

MoFadaCromulent · 10/10/2025 16:22

You can't expect people in the public eye to apologise for mistakes these days, you may as well be wishing for politicians to act respectfully to their opposition.

Fairytale stuff.

Which is a shame as it gives your detractors a stick to beat you with and an easy out to not engage with the larger point you night be making.

sciaticafanatica · 10/10/2025 17:44

She’s a bloody idiot and picks which ever cause will get her maximum exposure!
Greta is about Greta and no one else!

noblegiraffe · 12/10/2025 21:48

Here's the twitter account of the flotilla that Greta was on, praising Hamas who conducted the rape and massacre of October 7th, as 'the only moral army in the Middle East'.

Anyone want to defend that tweet?

To wonder if Greta will acknowledge her blunder?
DontCallMeLenYouLittleBollix · 12/10/2025 21:57

Ouch. Wonder what Greta reckons to that?

noblegiraffe · 12/10/2025 22:42

Ah there's a suggestion on another thread that despite the blue tick, it may not be an official account of the flotilla.
