In the wake of the tragic events that took place in Manchester, I want to implore people not to lose steam or, more importantly, hope.

Gaza is still facing destruction, famine and genocide.

We need to continue to peacefully pressure our government to take action and sanction the Israeli government and to educate and inform people about the horrors faced by the Palestinian people day in and day out for the last two years.

People who opposed the liberation of Palestine want for this to be a turning point. For people to point the finger at a movement that wants to see the end of the suffering of millions and label it as inciting hate.

It's not.
And it's important.

Please don't put down your passion for Gaza.

Reported for inciting violence, hate speech and anti semitism.

There is absolutely no justification for the actions of the Israeli government.

You, for one.

Oh I see. Can you point out where I've been antisemitic please?

ShazMidlands · 04/10/2025 00:44

The UN as an organization has not issued a definitive legal determination, as that authority lies with courts like the International Court of Justice (ICJ)

Regardless, a genocide is wiping out every living thing - are you saying Israel hasn't the technological ability to do that? If it was committing a " genocide" it wouldn't be strategically targeting anything and would just blow the entire area to hell in a handcart

That's nice. Where have I been antisemitic?

Please, don't. Just give it a week, can't you? Read the room and have some sensitivity.

EVERYONE who isn't wearing blinkers knows the horrors that are happening in Gaza, it's on the news every evening. Do you honestly think that putting a keffiyeh on and parroting slogans en masse is going to change that? I don't know what will, but it just bloody won't.

Meanwhile, ALL these protests have an element, if not more than just an element, of anti-semitism. How could you bring yourself to be part of a protest like that, this week at any rate? You have the freedom to march and protest - aren't you lucky? You've also got the choice not to, for a bit.

Well, everywhere of course, but most recently on here.

gottakeeponmoving · 04/10/2025 00:45

The perpetrator is in agreement with the protesters.

Alan Levy, the synagogue's chairman of trustees told ITV News, external, he heard Al-Shamie shouting "this is what they get for killing our children", before "banging his knife into the glass, trying to get through".

Justagirl95 · 04/10/2025 00:45

fourseasonsinoneday1 · 04/10/2025 00:44

Can you quote? That's a very big accusation to be throwing around.

And what do you mean by "everywhere"?

ShazMidlands · 04/10/2025 00:47

Justagirl95 · 04/10/2025 00:39

Oooh this is awkward

A resolution passed by the International Association of Genocide Scholars (IAGS) states that Israel's conduct meets the legal definition as laid out in the UN convention on genocide.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cde3eyzdr63o.amp

You don't know what the ICJ is do you - awkward. It's something called a legal body that gives final determination not a bunch of " scholars".

These arse clowns pretending Israel fighting a war against terrorists who started the war during a ceasefire is a genocide are just that - pretending. They know full well that no Israeli soldier is dangerous to anybody who doesn't first rape and murder their civillians. They know full well that Israel has no choice but to continue fighting the war Hamas started, or Hamas will wipe them out.

And that's what they want.

They know full well that if Hamas - who waged a war against Israel during a cease fire - were disbanded (and as a terrorist organisation they must be) and released the hostages the war would end immediately.

They're just freaking out because Israel continues to win the war they did not start and did not want.

Everything else is just semantics.

God speed, Israel. The entire world is behind you - except for the anti semites and terrorist supporters who just won't shut up.

Absolutely well said

Nevermind91 · 04/10/2025 00:49

Here we go again... let's all re-establish borders, factions, sides...
Prepare for more division, more violence, more murders, more savagery, more heavy-handed response, more US aid going to one side only.
This will never stop. Neither side are interested. Come back to this thread in a year, in 10 years, a century, NOTHING WILL HAVE CHANGED.

I know enough about them to know they have historically been cautious and slow to make decisions.

Lifesd · 04/10/2025 00:50

You and anyone else who joins these marches in the wake of this weeks attack are a disgrace to be honest. Out of sheer respect to cancel 1 weekend would be too much for you people - but no people were holding protests on the day it happened and you cannot tell me that some of those people on those “peace marches” were not celebrating the terror attack.

Can you imagine if there was a Reform rally after an attack on a Mosque?

My view is the marches should be banned all together and my view of those protesting is that they are performative virtue signallers, and that these protests will have no impact whatsoever on the war but will continue to grow hatred and division in this country.

ShazMidlands · 04/10/2025 00:50

Followthattaxi · 04/10/2025 00:41

What about Yemen? 10 x the amount of people killed there than in Gaza. Why is no one marching for them?

I wonder why? 🤔

because it's anti Jew hatred, when muslims kill other muslims no one gives a toss. The casualties are far higher in Yemen but you will never see the likes of Bushra Shaikh call that out

Maybe just after the Manchester attack you could protest a different genocide this weekend. And then go back to ignoring them the following weekend.

Yes, I want the genocide to stop in Palestine.

I also do despise the Israeli government's actions towards Palestine. The same way I despise the Talibans actions towards Afghan citizens.

Just to be clear, as it seems some people are struggling with this.

You can "despise" a government for abhorrent actions without condemning the people who are forced to live under their regime.

Icreatedausernameyippee · 04/10/2025 00:55

My personal passion for Gaza has been about 15 years strong. I've been aware of the PSC since before then, about 20 years, when Catholic priests explained why they were boycotting Israel.
It's not a trend. It's picked up more attention because of the role our government has been playing in it.
That's what the protests are for.
