In the wake of the tragic events that took place in Manchester, I want to implore people not to lose steam or, more importantly, hope.

Gaza is still facing destruction, famine and genocide.

We need to continue to peacefully pressure our government to take action and sanction the Israeli government and to educate and inform people about the horrors faced by the Palestinian people day in and day out for the last two years.

People who opposed the liberation of Palestine want for this to be a turning point. For people to point the finger at a movement that wants to see the end of the suffering of millions and label it as inciting hate.

It's not.
And it's important.

Please don't put down your passion for Gaza.

Which part of genocide do you find funny?

Please provide a source for me finding any part of genocide funny.

What are you yapping about?

I think she’s actually talking about you…..do you know recognise it.

He was asking simple questions - it’s what journalists do. It doesn’t discredit him because he shows how hate-filled and ignorant they are.

And it’s not a genocide.

It is a genocide
and
he’s a biased reporter

Icreatedausernameyippee · 04/10/2025 21:41

From what I've seen here, the pro Israel users are largely using the "because I said so" method of debate and it's getting us nowhere.
Once again, I'll bring it back to the point of the thread.
Protest what is wrong. Engage in healthy debate. Always inspect the source. Genocide is wrong.

Throwing out lies is easy
lies aren’t against mumsnet rules

Im still waiting for evidence
especially the savagery at the marches
We’ll get to page 40 and nothing
blah blah same old same old

You have literally just read an article by a journalist in the Times reporting on what people have been saying within the last 24 hours. And you’ve chosen to ignore it. As Syed quotes: “ideology doesn’t just blind; it binds”. I wish for you an open mind. Maybe one day.

Oh she likes to do that.
Its that old “when did you stop hitting your wife” , putting words in other people’s mouths effort.

Not questioning it or disagreeing with it but adding to it

So he is not suppose to mention Hamas and any mention of them has the oldies mashing their gums.
Sounds biased of them if they can’t even discuss Hamas because they have been fed what to think, what to believe, what to say. In fact it’s the typical rent a mob (except for hair colour and walking sticks)

Irrelevant
What are you talking about

I am tagging a poster on the issue of providing evidence to support a persons comment on these threads
The newspaper article is a completely different matter and has absolutely nothing to do with evidence

That was a good sad and informative read and exactly the level of intelligence on display on other lefty marches the world over.
Guilty secret here, absolutely love watching the lefties losing it videos from all around the world.
Most of the words made me angry put this made me laugh.

Agree with one thing, Amnesty International is a respected, neutral observer whose word people trust. They have LOADS to say about Israel. Here's one.

He is a biased reporter and so is the term hatefest used to describe the demonstration

Its these sort of terms and people that breed hate
Reporters should not be biased
I appreciate that’s a big ask but that’s how it should be

It’s Matthew Syed! Come on guys. He’s an incredibly well respected journalist. Is he part of the international conspiracy too?

I suspect he wasn’t saying what she wanted to hear.
Me I thought although parts were sad others were funny as fuck.
As I say it’s my guilty secret watching liberals loosing it online.

You can say it is until you’re blue in the face and it still won’t be a genocide. Even your comrade above agrees it’s not a genocide.

Simplestars · 04/10/2025 21:59

Those marches are hatefests. Spouting antisemitic chants is hate, calling for the annihilation of one race of people is hate. Anything that doesn’t seem to suit your echo chamber is “biased”.

MrsSkylerWhite · 04/10/2025 21:59

Icreatedausernameyippee · 04/10/2025 20:13

I think you're being called an Anti-Semite for not trusting Nigel Farrage now.

Farage is an abhorrent racist. Somehow, he has become the acceptable face. If that makes me anti-Semitic, ok. I don’t believe it does. Because I’m not.
He is jumping on a certain bandwagon right now because it suits his agenda. I believe in everyone’s right to religious freedom. It’s one of the very best things about the UK. (Though I am personally an atheist)
If he becomes PM (assuming he sticks around long enough to fulfil the role, which given his track record is far from certain) and succeeds in deporting black and brown people, I’m fairly sure he’ll be lining his next targets up quickly thereafter.
All I can do is point people to Martin Niemoller and First They Came, again.

DrPrunesqualer · 04/10/2025 21:29

@Icreatedausernameyippee i didn’t read the article initially. I was posting on the use of the word
Hatefest used against images calling for ‘stop the genocide’

but I agree now having read it that reporter wasn’t acting out of interest or in good faith. What a nasty piece of work he is. If this is all people are reading I’m not surprised views are one sided
I think most people read around subjects though and don’t believe just the one bit of crap that fits their narrative

How can you call him a nasty piece of work when all he is doing is repeating the nasty words of the fools he is trying to talk to.

I question again for which you can’t or won’t answer why is asking about Hamas wrong.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 04/10/2025 22:02

From ITVX: ^"The proscription of Palestine Action has become a focal point of the campaign for activists in recent months.
The previous two events have seen a total of 1,422 people arrested, the majority for supporting a proscribed organisation"^

Add to that 493 arrested today, according to the Met

And these are people who claim to be in favour of peace? Hmm

That’s OK enough respected organisations have designated and see what Israel are doing as a genocide
A random on mumsnet who prefers to think it isn’t is irrelevant
