In the wake of the tragic events that took place in Manchester, I want to implore people not to lose steam or, more importantly, hope.

Gaza is still facing destruction, famine and genocide.

We need to continue to peacefully pressure our government to take action and sanction the Israeli government and to educate and inform people about the horrors faced by the Palestinian people day in and day out for the last two years.

People who opposed the liberation of Palestine want for this to be a turning point. For people to point the finger at a movement that wants to see the end of the suffering of millions and label it as inciting hate.

It's not.
And it's important.

Please don't put down your passion for Gaza.

Oh come on that's a ludicrous comparison.

All its doing is alienating people and Farage is lapping it up.

The naivety is staggering.

You should probably be on a watch list if you think that a Genocide is justified.

Eeek I hope you responded to the wrong person! I'm on the right side of history 🤍

How do you think murdered and raped children/ women want to live in Israel continually threatened by a terrorist state next door to it?

Pardon? I’ve been very clear in my despair for all sides. Your what-aboutery only seems to extend to one ‘side’. Statistically, I believe one side is much much safer but that is not the point. This needs to stop.

It isn't genocide, Israel could wipe every living creature off the face of the Gaza strip if it chose to. A genocide is trying to kill every living thing, not attempting to target Hamas -a terrorist organisation who hides behind children's hospitals and schools. If Palestine had the weapons Israel had, Israel wouldn't exist at all. Israel is a nuclear power that could blow Palestine off the face of the Earth so no it isn't a "genocide"

It's been classified as a genocide.

The facts are - Palestine has not committed a genocide, Israel is currently committing one. There is no point in playing "if Palestine has.." games as they don't, and they haven't.

Icreatedausernameyippee · 04/10/2025 00:28

The people of Palestine weren't and aren't just Muslim.
There have always been Christian and Jewish Palestinians.

The current population in Palestine are mainly muslims, I'm not sure which part of the Jewish people lived there for thousands of years BEFORE Islam was even created isn't sinking in? It is literally the Jewish homeland based on thousands of years of Jewish occupation - the invaders are technically the muslims in Palestine not the Jewish people

Willyoujustbequiet · 04/10/2025 00:33

Bundleflower · 04/10/2025 00:29

You’re right, I personally wouldn’t.
However, I know Palestinians lives have been deemed as cheap but what is the ratio you find acceptable? How can anybody turn up to a 7th October rally knowing the sheer volume of children that have been murdered in to avenge the atrocity?
I don’t know the answers and I continue to despair for Muslims, Jews, Palestinians, Israelis and everyone else affected.

I agree.

I'm not advocating that no one marches ever again. Just simply some sensitivity shown at the moment given its so raw and tensions are high.

I'd say the same if it was the other way around.

You are not going to win me over if in your message you blatantly dismiss any mentions to the victims of the Manchester attack.

I don't believe that Jews represent the Israeli government and I don't believe that the terrorist who carried out these dreadful attacks represents Gaza. Why do we need to stop protesting about one atrocity in order to be respectful of another atrocity? I'm not saying that these two aren't linked but it's a misrepresented, abused and exploited link. For most right minded people, Jews and Judaism are not to be blamed for the atrocities carried out by the Israeli government. Similarly, the suffering of people in Gaza does not become trivial or unworthy of attention because of the terrorist attacks in Manchester yesterday. More importantly, the suffering in Gaza is still going on and it is grtting worse every day. The humans suffering in gaza are not getting a break.

Besides, I'm curious, in your post, you did not acknowledge all the people who died in Gaza today or yesterday (53 by the way in case you didn't know) let alone the 60 000 people who have died in this war so far. Why not?

Even if you don't do anything else, please read this:

https://www.unicef.org/press-releases/shoeless-starving-and-nowhere-go-brutal-logic-imposed-gazas-children

I am grateful to the people who haven't forgotten about them yet and who don't let a sad and tragic atrocity ad happened yesterday in manchester be exploited as an excuse to forget about them.

It's a fair question.

If a woman committed the same crime against a group of innocent men, should marches against the violence against women's and girls that coming weekend be cancelled?

No Israel is not committing genocide according to a strict legal interpretation under the 1948 UN Genocide Convention, which requires proof of specific intent to destroy, in whole a national, ethnic, racial group. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has not issued a final ruling on South Africa's genocide case against Israel - it clearly isn't genocide as Israel could kill everyone there overnight if it chose to

I’d personally go on a march to tell both sides it’s fucking ludicrous but I don’t think such a march exists.

It isn't whataboutery when someone talks about Palestinian victims and ignores murdered Jewish babies and women. Hamas stared this conflict - people can wriggle around suggesting otherwise with nonsense but no country would tolerate its citizens being butchered by savages. Of course no one wants to see any innocent people murdered, but don't make Palestine out to be something it isn't. It's a terrorist state ran by Hamas where unfortunately many innocent people are caught up in the cross fire ( which happens in every war sadly)

These arse clowns pretending Israel fighting a war against terrorists who started the war during a ceasefire is a genocide are just that - pretending. They know full well that no Israeli soldier is dangerous to anybody who doesn't first rape and murder their civillians. They know full well that Israel has no choice but to continue fighting the war Hamas started, or Hamas will wipe them out.

And that's what they want.

They know full well that if Hamas - who waged a war against Israel during a cease fire - were disbanded (and as a terrorist organisation they must be) and released the hostages the war would end immediately.

They're just freaking out because Israel continues to win the war they did not start and did not want.

Everything else is just semantics.

God speed, Israel. The entire world is behind you - except for the anti semites and terrorist supporters who just won't shut up.

I wonder why? 🤔

WishinAndHopin · 04/10/2025 00:41

What are all these mass protests achieving except international hatred against Israel and Jews? Has it remotely reduced the suffering in Gaza? No.

The statistics for "genocide" come from Hamas. The same Hamas that has refused many peace deals - this devastation could end tomorrow if they wanted it to. The same Hamas that has ALWAYS withheld food, money and resources from Gazan citizens unless they support Hamas - which is how they stay in power, despite growing unpopularity. Which is why Israel control resources - which in turn is why Hamas kills Gazans accepting aid that has come via Israel as traitors.

If you want the deaths to end (which we all do), then you have to understand the dynamics and Hamas' leading role in it all. Instead of just repeating moronic propaganda.

Even if you fully support Hamas, the ones controlling everything - as per your own logic - are Israel. It's THEM you need to convince. And you protestors are merely showing them you irrationally hate them and don't understand the slightest thing about the region.

It's not a reasonable argument at all.

I haven't seen thousands of women marching for a proscribed terrorist organisation and chanting death to men/slogans for the abolition of men.

I would however expect a Jewish march to be cancelled if someone slaughtered innocent Muslims at a mosque in this country. Its about compassion.
Stirring up division only leads to bigger problems in the long run and indeed alienates supporters.
