In the wake of the tragic events that took place in Manchester, I want to implore people not to lose steam or, more importantly, hope.

Gaza is still facing destruction, famine and genocide.

We need to continue to peacefully pressure our government to take action and sanction the Israeli government and to educate and inform people about the horrors faced by the Palestinian people day in and day out for the last two years.

People who opposed the liberation of Palestine want for this to be a turning point. For people to point the finger at a movement that wants to see the end of the suffering of millions and label it as inciting hate.

It's not.
And it's important.

Please don't put down your passion for Gaza.

I question again for which you can’t or won’t answer why is asking about Hamas wrong.

Tell you what

When the relevant posters come back with evidence of
savagery at the demonstrations
and
Hamas flags
I might explain why Hamas are irrelevant to a Palestine Action / stop the genocide demonstration
if the matter is confusing

IsEveryUserNameBloodyTaken · 04/10/2025 22:08

DrPrunesqualer · 04/10/2025 22:03

That’s OK enough respected organisations have designated and see what Israel are doing as a genocide
A random on mumsnet who prefers to think it isn’t is irrelevant

I thought we had already seen the screenshot that it was questionably so called “respected organisations”.
Indeed some just appeared to be fully paid up mouth pieces.

Liberals
There is nothing wrong with being against war

Your screenshot is talking about the Liberal party (heirs of the Whigs, dominant until their “strange death” post WW1, Dangerfield, etc, loved free trade). It was under a Liberal PM (Lloyd George) that the Balfour Declaration was passed. So I rather suspect you might not be so keen on the Liberals after all?

I question again for which you can’t or won’t answer why is asking about Hamas wrong.

It's been a continuous feature of interviewing anyone speaking in favour of Palestine. Particularly touted by P. Morgan.
Before you can talk about any of the issues, you must condemn Hamas.
It derails conversation, it's unnecessary. It goes without saying that Hamas did bad things and that people don't condone them.
Funnily enough, it was almost never applied in reverse, pro Israeli campaigners weren't asked to condemn the governments actions before being allowed to speak on unfolding issues.
It's a declaration of where you stand even before the conversation has started and an indicator that the questions will not be being asked in good faith.

( With thanks to the poster who linked the Amnesty International article )

Why wouldnt people want to call this out
Why wouldn’t people want their leaders to speak out against this

This is why people demonstrate in this and many countries across the world

Farage is an abhorrent racist. Somehow, he has become the acceptable face. If that makes me anti-Semitic, ok. I don’t believe it does. Because I’m not.
He is jumping on a certain bandwagon right now because it suits his agenda. I believe in everyone’s right to religious freedom. It’s one of the very best things about the UK. (Though I am personally an atheist)
If he becomes PM (assuming he sticks around long enough to fulfil the role, which given his track record is far from certain) and succeeds in deporting black and brown people, I’m fairly sure he’ll be lining his next targets up quickly thereafter.
All I can do is point people to Martin Niemoller and First They Came, again.

Agree, Nazi venerating conman Nigel Farage is a slimy little antisemite. He'll happily play one minority off against another if it leads him closer to his ultimate goal of Make Britain White Again.

Those marches are hatefests. Spouting antisemitic chants is hate, calling for the annihilation of one race of people is hate. Anything that doesn’t seem to suit your echo chamber is “biased”.

Does doesn’t it ,

That was a good sad and informative read and exactly the level of intelligence on display on other lefty marches the world over.
Guilty secret here, absolutely love watching the lefties losing it videos from all around the world.
Most of the words made me angry put this made me laugh.

Wow. From the article about the march "The hatred of Jews. I heard conspiracy theories (October 7 was a false flag operation), blood libels, and the pervasive view that the Manchester atrocity was not a heinous attack but righteous comeuppance for an evil people. My sense is that many felt liberated to say what they really thought by the proximity of like-minded others; the classic symptom of mob mentality."

Yes, sums him up perfectly. I’m so upset that millions seem to be falling for his hate.

The screen shot is the basics of liberal minds and values. It is not a definition of a party but a mindset. You are confused by my evidence posted

Who I am and what my allegiances are have nothing to do with what I think of Israel’s actions in Gaza

People on this thread throw the word liberal around as if it’s a hateful group of people
The definition of liberal is quite the opposite

Bless you but I was asking the other person,,not that I didn’t want an answer but wanted the other person to answer as well.
I’m afraid your answer doesn’t stack up about why they won’t discuss Hamas.
Its meaningless in the context.

Shocking isn’t it.
No wonder so many on here, if you pardon my French are falling over their arseholes to condemn it because it shows up their hypocrisy.

Google’s led you astray on this I’m afraid. It’s referring to the Liberal party. The clue is in the capital “L” and the definition which is of the classic Liberal party interests. liberal small l is different. there’s nothing hateful about that either. I mean it doesn’t really matter. If you want to be heir to a Whiggish tradition go ahead. Tolerance is always to be encouraged…

White again compared to what.
Well all this immigration and so called integration is working out just swell isn’t it.
Perhaps that doesn’t fit your agenda though.

I suspect not as evidenced by recent history nothing to do with Gaza etc.

Willyoujustbequiet · 04/10/2025 00:02

No

You're losing support left, right and centre with the complete lack of empathy and insensitivity shown.

The Israel government has invited Tommy Robinson as their guest of honour. The lack of sensitivity and empathy shown by their government isn’t surprising considering they help fund far right groups and people like Tommy to sow dissent and division in the U.K.

My sympathies to the families and people impacted by the Manchester attack there is no excuse for such attacks or behaviour.

EsmaCannonball · 04/10/2025 22:29

A reminder - again - that anyone can join the IAGS for a small fee. People were signing up with the name Mr A. Hitler. It's a debunked and discredited organisation.

Thanks for that. I didn’t pick up on the L and l differences as the definition was liberal so to speak

Yes, members are neither required to be scholars nor know anything at all about genocide, let alone have studied it.
