In the wake of the tragic events that took place in Manchester, I want to implore people not to lose steam or, more importantly, hope.

Gaza is still facing destruction, famine and genocide.

We need to continue to peacefully pressure our government to take action and sanction the Israeli government and to educate and inform people about the horrors faced by the Palestinian people day in and day out for the last two years.

People who opposed the liberation of Palestine want for this to be a turning point. For people to point the finger at a movement that wants to see the end of the suffering of millions and label it as inciting hate.

It's not.
And it's important.

Please don't put down your passion for Gaza.

Yet the leadership they voted for rejects it.

And so we are back to Hamas. While Hamas is in control, nothing can be achieved towards peace.

A long time ago, yes. Voting populations around the world change their collective mind and vote differently every few years. Surely you can see that outcome is also possible in Palestine, if people had the opportunity and a real choice? Especially after the damage has caused to their lives since its election.

Mumsnet shoukd take this post down. Were you ine of rhe protesters who were celebrating across the country after the murders OP? It's disgraceful and racist.

I agree, except I don't want the post taken down because I think people should see the shameful state the pro-Hamas people have made of themselves.

I love the way that 60000 figure is bandied around.
Every one of them murdered.
And apparently every one a civilian.
According to the Hamas-run Ministry of Health.

Israel army must be a bit sh*t, eh?

Not killed a single Hamas militant.

I mean, if they'd killed 20k militants and 60k in total then that'd be a 2:1 collateral damage which is the lowest figure I've ever seen in an urban warfare setting.

Don't get me wrong. The horror of Gaza need to stop. No doubt about that.

But falling for this level of gaslighting about deaths in the region makes me cringe.

Collateral damage is a phrase that has always sickened me, in any conflict.
I suppose it’s easy to say dispassionately if people aren’t personally under much threat.

Literally everything I have read indicates that Hamas have so brainwashed the Gaza population that their position has very much hardened.

If free elections were held in Gaza tomorrow and Hamas were voted out, you think they'd say "ok then" and do a concession speech?

Yes I suppose you're right. I cant believe this is happening in the UK. What has happened to us as a society were we have citizens celebrating death and calling for murder. The chants of 'death to the IDF' and rioting on Thursday, is worrying. How much lower are they going to go?

NeonFish · 04/10/2025 15:58

OP I think you really should have the decency to hold off for a fortnight or a month, in respect of the terror attack in Manchester. I am sympathetic to the Palestinian cause but now is really not the time to continue the protests. Please read the room. You will just stir up hatred and more violence. October 7 remembrance anniversary is coming up only in a couple of days. Please everyone on the Palestinian side, show some humanity, compassion and respect and hold off for another month, or at least another 2 weeks. Lets calm the temperature down.

Icreatedausernameyippee · 04/10/2025 15:59

WestwardHo1 · 04/10/2025 15:47

The problem (to me) is that being "pro Palestine" inherently means supporting the State Of Israel being wiped off the map, because that's what Palestinians themselves have repeatedly stated as their aim. They have rejected the two state solution.

And my objective self looks at that and thinks, the State of Israel was established after the most "successful" persecution in the history of humanity. If Jews don't have Israel, where can they live safely? European Jewry - a great swathe of culture, community, education, music, learning, language, art, business, people and family going back a thousand years - was nearly exterminated.

Being able to appreciate this rather complicates the "Free Palestine" rhetoric. Because if Palestine is freed, what then?

Likewise, Israel has been clear in its mission to prevent Palestine from existing in a meaningful way. The government have been clear that they won't stop until Palestine is stomped out.

The state of Israel was awarded to European Jews following a great, great, tragedy. They were given their parcel of land and a chance to start a new.
The problem is that they haven't been content with their lot. They've steamrolled over the land and lives of the people already calling that place home.

They've been occupying land that isn't theirs, forcefully displacing people.

War has been tearing the land apart for decades now.

We're at a point where both sides can only see their survival with the destruction of the other and It's not what anyone objective wants to see.

A two state solution can only come about with a fair division of land and the dissolving of both governments.

"Death to the IDF" is death to the military - the institution. It's not calling for the literal death of any individual.
No one reasonable is celebrating murder.

Israel is a tiny little country surrounded by hostile states. All it wants to do is exist and live in peace contributing to many areas such as medicine, technology etc and we have people wanting them destroyed using the term zionism as an insult. No one seems to call out the horrific genocides occurring in muslim countries, but when Israel is invaded with children and women mutilated we hear " free Palestine" - a terrorist state which murders, tortures and rapes indiscriminately

When nazi Germany invaded the west many innocent German people were caught up in the bombings - it's called war not genocide. Israel could flatten Palestine like a pancake overnight if it wanted to as a nuclear armed country but it attempts to target Hamas - yes innocents are affected but it isn't intentional or genocide. Palestine is DELIBERATELY targeting women and children you vile ghouls.

This is spades.
I do wonder at the sick lack of distancing from reality of these despicable people who want to cause further intimidation of Jewish people by going on these marches.
Just know I see you and I despise you and all you stand for.
I cheer that others in this country are waking up to your evil too.

DrPrunesqualer · 04/10/2025 16:00

Obviously we’ve all read of these accusations over the years and before October 7th but I’ve never been aware of video evidence.

Detainees raped and sodomised in prisons and people on here can’t be bothered to speak out !!!
People on here still support Israel’s actions against Palestinians ???
What the hell is going on with humanity !!

I agree with your posts, but these people don't care and are incredibly hateful. They were celebrating and rioting after the attack on Thursday in downing street and across the country. They want to incite more violence and know exactly what they are doing. I dont even think they care about palestine at all, they just like tonstor up hatred.

Agreed. It is very frightening. I know many Jewish people are thinking about leaving the UK as it just is no longer safe for them here. Islamists (and their useful idiots like the ones on this thread) have been allowed to terrorise them. Seeing marches calling for death to Jews and the eradication of Israel every weekend must surely make you feel like history is repeating itself. This should be a safe place for Jews - we fought WW2 to make it safe. Now look what we've done.

And the stupidest thing is that these "pro-Palestine" idiots would be among the first to be strung up if Hamas were to get their way. Do you think Gazan men would let women go out and protest in the streets? You'd be raped and killed. No tolerance of homosexuality, no rights for women, pure repression and barbarism all the way. That's what they're marching for, and they don't even know it.

No, I don’t because there’s currently no opposition. Who would be that brave in the current circumstances.? look what happened to Navalny. I would argue that Hamas has a greater grip over its population than even Putin.
Of course, an election can’t be considered until ceasefire and a period of sustained peace.
How that comes about, providence only knows.

I am worried though about further intervention by the west with Blair as head. Feels like mistakes of the past being deliberately repeated.

So you'd agree that the march for the friends of Israel shouldn't go ahead out of respect for the 20 killed by Israel this morning, yes?
That's the way it works, right?
Someone gets killed, the opposite side halts their activities?
Because there are Palestinian people living in the UK. What if Omar, living in Manchester, has just got news that his uncle was killer this morning? Is it right that a pro-israel march takes place a few days later?

No I will not. Zionism means an Israel home for their women and children not an evil word to be condemned. Palestine is a state run by a terrorist organisation and most people on here wouldn't last 5 minutes in a place like Palestine with the human rights record there regardless of any war. Jewish people are quiet friendly people who integrate in western countries as are supposed " zionists" who simply want to live in a tiny country which is smaller than Wales. Look at Israel on a map - a tiny country where the people there wish to live in peace without their women and children butchered at a music festival.

Jewish people have lived in Israel for 3 thousand years long before the muslim caliphate invaded it in the 7th century murdering the people there -leave Israel alone you disgusting people. Israel is the homeland of Jewish people who lived there for 2500 years before Islam was even created.

Fantastic post.

There are multiple sources. Here's a scholarly article on the subject https://newrepublic.com/article/176962/hamas-finances-funding-sources-palestinian-authority

There's filmed evidence from organisations like Peace Comms of Hamas stealing convoys of aid trucks (although they're on Instagram so I understand some people would prefer not to look on SM) but it appears that if the information comes from Gazans in Gaza some people don't consider them as plausible narrators as Phoenix from NYU or Janet from Surrey.

The demonstrations at Downing Street etc on and after the Manchester attack were not a response to that attack at all.

Evidence from the news has already been posted on here
The early ones were in response to Israel arresting the Humanitarians on the Flotilla boats and Starmer doing nothing to offer support or protection

There has been no evidence of celebrations after the attack.

And No
Farage on his you tube video talking lies ( no evidence to support his words) is evidence of nothing. Or do you believe immigrants are eating swans too 🤣

We need to speak out against the horrors committed by Netanyahu and his Government both in Gaza and against all detainees.
If the IDF were doing this in the U.K. I’d want other countries to scream their disgust from the roof tops

Your rapid edit to hide your support for a proscribed terrorist organisation and the atrocities they committed on October 7th has been noted.

Hilarious and she told someone else to educate themselves.
