In the wake of the tragic events that took place in Manchester, I want to implore people not to lose steam or, more importantly, hope.

Gaza is still facing destruction, famine and genocide.

We need to continue to peacefully pressure our government to take action and sanction the Israeli government and to educate and inform people about the horrors faced by the Palestinian people day in and day out for the last two years.

People who opposed the liberation of Palestine want for this to be a turning point. For people to point the finger at a movement that wants to see the end of the suffering of millions and label it as inciting hate.

It's not.
And it's important.

Please don't put down your passion for Gaza.

How are the hostages meant to be fed when aid is being blocked? Trucks of food are being ripped apart by settlers to prevent the aid reaching Gaza.
The only proven genocide is the one that's been declared in Gaza. There's a decaled famine in Gaza.

why can’t the aid get through via the 12km border with Egypt? Israel doesn’t have any control there. Why haven’t the Palestinian government arranged that?

Because that would be preposterous to actually do something about the starvation of their people because how on earth will they drum up more hatred for Israel.

If Scotland were blocking all aid to England, surely the aid would just come via wales, where Scotland has 0 control. Bit like Egypt.

wrongthinker · 04/10/2025 15:35

This is a video with no context. I don't know who these people are. But it's not 'Israel' is it, as in the government or forces? Aid is coming from Israel and is (mostly) getting into Gaza, where it is stolen by Hamas.

Bananadramaa · 04/10/2025 15:35

wrongthinker · 04/10/2025 15:28

You know that Hamas steal the aid, right? Then they sell it to their people at vastly inflated prices.

You know that Israel has been supplying much of that aid, right? If Gazans are starving, it's not down to Israel.

I mean, I feel like you should know these facts. It sounds like you've got caught up in a lot of Hamas propaganda.

And you have independent verified sources? Israel?

If you really cared about Gaza you would be protesting one government only and that is Hamas. They started a war they can't win and won't surrender. I won't even mention caring about Israeli lives because they are nothing to you.

But you won't do that will you because that's not what any of you people really care about.

The article I linked is literally refuting those claims, WITH EVIDENCE.

How about read it? You might learn something.

And what about the civilians who do go to claim the little aid that gets through and get shot by the IDF?

Why would Hamas change their modus operandi? They've been stealing aid from their people for years. It's hardly a secret.

Just had a quick google and it has recently received $300,000 from the Koch Foundation which I believe also supports Trump.

I’m not sure that id be inclined to take everything in its articles as read, in that case.
Much as Id be disinclined to believe much of an article on the same lines if it appeared in the Socialist Worker, for example.

Its very difficult today to find unbiased information.

No, I'm asking if you believe yourself to be in the grey area of "there's wrong in both sides and no one should be killed" or if you're the reverse of what you advised me of being.
Being pro Palestine isn't being anti Jewish.

The problem (to me) is that being "pro Palestine" inherently means supporting the State Of Israel being wiped off the map, because that's what Palestinians themselves have repeatedly stated as their aim. They have rejected the two state solution.

And my objective self looks at that and thinks, the State of Israel was established after the most "successful" persecution in the history of humanity. If Jews don't have Israel, where can they live safely? European Jewry - a great swathe of culture, community, education, music, learning, language, art, business, people and family going back a thousand years - was nearly exterminated.

Being able to appreciate this rather complicates the "Free Palestine" rhetoric. Because if Palestine is freed, what then?

Are you an actual adult? Do you realise we are talking about human lives here? You want people to go out and wave a terrorist flag and yet when anyone takes you seriously and argues against you, you can't engage and just make these weird childish taunts. It's actually quite disturbing. I think something serious has happened to your soul.

Many “pro Palestinians” are also pro-Israel in that they support two states with autonomy.

Many “pro Palestinians” are also pro-Israel in that they support two states with autonomy.

Yet the leadership they voted for rejects it.

And so we are back to Hamas. While Hamas is in control, nothing can be achieved towards peace.

You can recognise the loss of life on that date and also the loss of life every day before and since.
The death of one person doesn't justify the another.
The murder of 1200 doesn't justify the murder of 60000.

I love the way that 60000 figure is bandied around.
Every one of them murdered.
And apparently every one a civilian.
According to the Hamas-run Ministry of Health.

Israel army must be a bit sh*t, eh?

Not killed a single Hamas militant.

I mean, if they'd killed 20k militants and 60k in total then that'd be a 2:1 collateral damage which is the lowest figure I've ever seen in an urban warfare setting.

Don't get me wrong. The horror of Gaza need to stop. No doubt about that.

But falling for this level of gaslighting about deaths in the region makes me cringe.

Which would be great. But you would agree not the ones calling for “from the river to the sea”, right? That’s not a two state call.

Oh ffs why don't you actually read the article and decide for yourself whether the arguments and evidence stand up to scrutiny? You don't trust your own ability to read and comprehend a complex argument? It's not that hard. Just read it slowly and follow the links so you can tell whether what's being offered as evidence in support of the point is coherent and well-sourced.

KimberleyClark · 04/10/2025 15:52

MyHeartyCoralSnail · 04/10/2025 12:50

Jews were first expelled from their homes 2,500 years ago, the continued to be expelled from their homes throughout history, most recently to the gas chambers. Most people understand that the only way to protect Jews from repeated exile and persecution was to ensure they had their own state. It made perfect sense - at a time when Europe was being rejigged after the war to return Jews to their homeland.

Do you see people in the south of Cyprus rampaging over the border raping, torturing and killing thousands in response to the Turkish invasion of Cyprus when many lost their homes? No, because they are not blood thirsty terrorists.

Jews were given their own state and rightly so. But successive Israeli governments have not respected the boundaries of the land they were given and tried to take more by force.illegally building settlements on land that was not theirs. This was not done in self defence,it was land grabbing.
